CCC Bird Day Tweetings

Hi Everyone, my DT make today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had already stamped and coloured a bird, the tree branches and the bird house, a few months ago, but didn't know what to do with them. Then in a panic to get this post done, I decided to use them, but to add another bird, it was pot luck on colouring it to match the first one, but it was OK in the end, I think?

I embossed a leaf background from a leaf die, but decided to only colour the flowers in it. I die cut it, as per the sketch I had to use for inspiration. Next I added the tree house and branches and the birds, I didn't have what I wanted in a sentiment stamp, so printed one out and die cut it.

I wanted to add paper, as per the sketch, and found this bird paper in my files a freebie from my subscription magazine, and it even had blue tits on it. I printed it, cut it to size and pasted it onto the base card. Then added the circle design.

The sentiment was added with 3D pads. Thank goodness for sketch inspiration sometimes.
This is the sketch I used -
birds and birdhouse - SCP #187 RSBP Magazine Freebie Garden Birds
inks - Distress Inks
embossed die - Tattered Lace (old)
sentiment - computer generated
sentiment die - Card Making Magic, Rectangular Nested Set

Romance WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month we would love to see Romance.

My card today has a heart on it, but I think I could use it for a few occasions. I stamped the heart and embossed in gold, I then stamped and embossed the sentiment. I thought it too plain, so embossed a piece of white card, then swiped a white ink pad over the embossing and heat embossed with clear glitter powder. It doesn't show, but it does have a gentle glitter effect. The heart was cut out when embossing, the stamped heart was placed behind the heart opening and attached to the card. It's a CAS card with lots of texture.

Something New WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month we would love to see Something New.

I saw this stamp, just before Christmas, and had to have it. It was on offer after all, how could I say no?

I used a circle die cut to blend the centre, then blended the background with DO's, not as I thought it would turn out, but I liked it, so continued. I stamped the main image in white, then embossed in white, I did it twice, so it stood out more. Then moved the stamp a little and stamped with black. The fireworks were stamped in gold and coloured gel pens added more strokes, but they didn't show as much as I wanted.  Next, I layered the images onto black paper and attached to the A5 base card. I then decided to remove some ink in the fireworks with an alcohol cloth.

A larger card than normal for me and lots of blending and embossing, not all good, but I like the overall card. Because of the curve in the card, I need to flatten, it looks like there are no white edges, it's tiny, but it is there.

stamps - Imala
ink- Brilliance Moonlight White & Stazon
gold embossing powder - Altenew Vintage Gold
white embossing powder - Papermania Seafoam White
black fine liner pen - UniPin fine line
inks Distress Oxide - prize ribbon, faded jeans, squeezed Lemonade.

Our wonderful prizes for this month are
3 prizes of stamp sets from Stampendous

Don't forget, we will now require At least one stamped element on entries. Those of you like us, who love to stamp, we would still love you to enter your fully stamped entry.

WLSC Real Bird mid month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping
the theme this month being "Anything Stamped with Birds or Animals".

Please share our challenge logo

My card today is another real bird, I've had this stamp for ages, but couldn't think what to do with it. I was rummaging in one of my ribbon drawers and came across this unused ribbon. I found Oxide inks to match, then laughed that they were "peacock colours". Then spread the ink, hoping to make lines or something. It didn't quite work, but I liked the colours, so out with my feather stencil, that I cut myself with the Cameo and stencilled the background with Distress inks to make a subtle background.

I stamped the Peacock and embossed with white ink. I also inked, stamped and embossed in white again, a feather and sentiment from the same set. The feathers were attached to the tail, and I cut the sentiment on a diagonal and also added it onto the tail.

The ribbon was attached to the card, after cutting the wire from it and fraying the edge. The peacock layer with 3D pads was laid on top. A few clear sequins added, and the card was done.

Spring is in the air WLSC mid month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping

the theme this month being "Anything Stamped with Spring Is In The Air".

Please share our challenge logo

My card today is snowdrops! I love snowdrops, I believe they are supposed to be the first sign of Spring, so I thought why not.  Having a lovely set of them, what do I do? I stamped the snowdrops and embossed them and the sentiment and die cut them, deciding also, to die cut a piece of matching pearlised card. Not satisfied with what I thought of, I went searching through a few sketches I like, to find this sketch. It helped with my design, although not followed faithfully.

I'm trying to do CAS, but finding it difficult. I was going to have just the centre, but I just HAD to add more. So I stamped some more snowdrop heads, embossed and coloured and then added them to each side of the centre.  I hope it's OK with you? It looks good in real life with the shine of the embossing. I just hope the recipient likes it.

Favourite Colours - WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping the theme being "Favourite Colours".

Please share our challenge logo

My favourite colours are anything, but I prefer bright! Hence my card, I coordinated with needing a card for hubby's Aunt who was 99. After photographing it for my blog, I decided to add die cut numbers of her 99 years.

Anyhow, I used a piece of linen card to have texture, then stamped the top corner and the bottom corner with the floral stamp I have used so many times, I love it. The sentiment was stamped, and they were embossed with gold powder. I wanted a bit of shine on the flowers too, so I used Pixie Powder, mixed on my glass mat and used a paint bush to add it to the large flowers. I used DI's to paint the paler flowers and then painted the leaves and centre of the flowers to match. The completed layer was attached to the main card. It does have a lovely shine, I couldn't get a photo of it to show it though.

floral stamp - Stamps by Me
sentiment stamp - Magazine freebie
embossing powder - Altenew Antique Gold
Pixie Dust - Cosmic Shimmer Scarlet Mist
inks - Distress Inks shaded lilac, spun sugar, lucky clover

There are always fabulous prizes, why don't you join us at the Favourite Colours Challenge? It lasts all January, the only criteria is, that stamping must be to the fore. Simple isn't it.

Two super prizes of an AALL and Create Heart Grunge stamp set and Petals and Pods stencil.

Radio Birthday

Hi Everyone, sorry I've been AWOL. A couple of weeks ago I was out watering the pots on the edge of the lawn, hubby called, I turned and was closer to the edge of the step than I thought. Over I go onto the concrete. It was a bad fall and may have broken one or two ribs. I also pulled my lower leg muscle and my poor knees had a bad time too, also my left breast it really has been an ouch time. I didn't attend A&E as I was convinced it was just a bruised muscle, but the pain became worse last week and I had to attend A&E. I was told it was probably broken or fractured rib/s, but an X-Ray was not required, as there was no treatment even if it/they were broken and to just keep taking painkillers, although I was given stronger ones to help me sleep.

Anyhow, that's my reason for not visiting, although I did manage a little time on some days and tried to comment on some blogs, those I didn't I apologise.

Now onto why you are here, my card. I made it before my fall and can't remember why I did it? Maybe a challenge or something? I had this radio digital stamp a long while and used it for this card. I followed a sketch, used my Cameo to cut out 2 layers of the Radio and then coloured it with inks. Using clear powder to heat embossed it, although I don't think you can see the shine in the photo. I had a vintage paper pad and die cut pieces to make the sketch. I took a Kraft scalloped ready card and splattered it with gold ink, added the radio with 3D pads and the sentiment I also made and cut with the Cameo and also heat embossed all over. Quite simple really.

Food TMR

Hi Everyone, I have 3 DT cards today, this DT card is for

So many items possible for this theme, however when I saw this Lobster I decided to use him, I had seen a quote on a vintage card and had copied it, hoping to be able to use it at some time, and, with a little mixing up of the words I used it on my card today.

I took the Lobster into Silhouette Design area and added an offset around him, I sent it to print with the frame of the card, and then cut it. I coloured him with DI's and added a sparkle embossing powder, well it is for Christmas!

I added the printed sentiment layer to the card and added the offset frame as 3D. Then placed the simpler frame on top of the 3D.

It may be a bit bonkers, but I am hoping it will bring a smile to my Brother & SiL, who do a lot of entertaining and he is a brilliant cook/chef.

embossing powder - WOW Clear Sparkle

Gnomes TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

Gnomes are just adorable aren't they? Well most of them. I hope you think mine are today. I wasn't sure how I was going to do this card, but I had seen a colour combination, I thought I would try out. This is the result. I think it will go to one of my Nephews.

The frame is a 3D card file I have had a number of years and I thought it would be different for my Gnomes.  I cut it out on my digital die cutting machine and added the stamped images. The Gnomes and their lights and present are die cut and the sign and house are fussy cut.  They were all coloured in DI's. The sentiment was stamped and die cut, then added to the 3D frame.

Unexpected stamping

Hi Everyone, as you know I have been without mojo for a while and thought it had gone for good, then a blog friend said she would send me Mr Mojo and she did! It ended up with this card, thanks Aimeslee.

I know it's father's Day, but my card has already been posted for that here.

I had a piece of card in my bits box, most of which I threw out last week as I never look in it, so why keep it ay? Anyhow I still keep adding and this piece was cut for some reason and I thought I would play and see what happens.

This card happened, you can't see I stamped on the reverse before this! I got some inks out, grabbed them blind, as I did the other week and thought whatever colours come out will have to work or it's in the bin, what chance brought out these bright colours was certainly worth it. I also grabbed the stamps and hoped they would work, after adding the centre frame heat embossing in white, I decided to add more grasses and the sentiment and used black ink.

I looked for backing paper and found an old Japanese themed paper pad, which worked beautifully (I think). Looking for a square frame die I had forgotten about this corner die, so I added that with 3 layers and heat embossed it also, for a nice shine. Mr Mojo was certainly in the room and guiding my hands. I hope he stays a while. I missed him.

AWOL?

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry I have been AWOL, but with happenings here and with no inclination to make anything, I'm afraid my poor blog has been neglected this last few days. Except, of course, my respect to Prince Philip.

After seeing something that said, no mojo? get something out and sit there until you have made something with it. Well I did, however the 'puter was taking priority instead, YouTube etc. but nothing happened, then I saw a card with blue in it and I thought it's a colour I don't often go to as the main choice, so here is the result.

My recently bought stamp in use again, I do love this.

A simple card, with the image stamped, an oval placed over it and some distress ink shaded out from the oval.  I then was stuck, so looked through my stamps and came across the sentiment stamp and a little butterfly.  In the mood I was in, I decided to make a Thinking of You card, as that's all I was doing was thinking! I used the background layer which is a pearlised  paper to stamp it on, a few gems card done. btw, the blue sentiment paper is cut straight, but for some reason it doesn't look it? Me and my photography???

I also coloured  3 more of the stamp, but haven't done anything else with them, I'll blog them as soon as I have done something.

80th birthday

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all well and keeping safe with the new restrictions in force, we are in shutdown and can't go out, except for essentials and exercise for 2 weeks. I'm so thankful for my hobby. My card today was a request from hubby's sister as she can't go out due to restrictions and her hubby having Alzheimer's, it is for my brother's wife on her 80th birthday. I'm lucky to have wonderful and kind hearted SiL's. I had to do them differently from mine completely. (to be shown later). Both love Autumnal colours, so I decided to make it in those colours, hoping to satisfy both lovely ladies, the giver and receiver. The flower is a layered stamp.
stamps - layered Peonies, magazine freebies
inks - Distress inks
ink - Papermania Dye inks
flowers embossed with gold and clear embossing powder
sentiment drawn on Cameo with metallic gold pen
frame cut on Cameo
embossing folder - Cuttlebug

Seeing as we are in Autumnal colours, I'm adding the top of the garden, I know I'm a pain including the garden often, but some people actually like seeing it, OK one or two of you, wink wink, so for those, here are Autumnal colours in the garden this week :) The beans are finally taken down and we can see it all now.

Autumn Pods stamp

Hi Everyone, more cards I did recently, I have bought a few stamps, can't believe it! I saw these and loved them, I thought they were simple and could be used whatever the occasion. Firstly I had seen (can't remember where now,) of making straight lines and distressing a shade. (If you know please let me know so I can give credit for the great idea.) EDIT - I have had a few people comment that it is the amazing Eileen Godwin, thank you everyone and Eileen too. I thought it sounded simple enough that I could do it, luckily I found it a great thing to do. When I had finished that card, I added water to the colours and pressed my card into it, then when dried I stamped on top of it. The third I just stamped and layered. I bought the other 2 stamps in the set also, so look out for those at a later date!
stamp - Woodware Autumn Pods
sentiment stamps - magazine freebies
Distress inks
black ink - Stazon
embossing powder - WOW clear sparkle
glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze

This is the one where I used a piece of card, then blending distress inks off it, to make the straight lines. I added colour to the stamped image and added sequins.

This is the one where I added water to the Distress inks left on my glass mat and pressed the card into it, stamping on top with a darker shade of the background and added clear sparkle embossing powder to it and layering just the corners.

This is just plain stamping, no embossing powder.
I did add glaze to the centre of the flowers, instead of colour.

Navy & White Christmas card plus

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all safe and well. I've got a picture heavy post for you today. I've done a few cards that I haven't blogged and thought it about time I did, so here are my first ones to show you. I saw the stamp and thought it so lovely I had to buy it. I pictured it on navy card in white and here is the same card I thought of. I coloured the roofs and windows with metallic pens, after stamping using a white ink. simple and quick. I like the effect, although I had to try it with a clear sparkle embossing too. I felt the star needed more emphasis so added a gold one over the stamped star!

stamp - Woodwear
ink - Brilliance moonlight white
embossing powder - WOW clear sparkle
star - die magazine freebie

Things are very strange in the garden, we are still picking runner beans another two and a half pounds this week, we have a lupin flowering and phlox flowering again and even the hebe decided to flower again. Never been known. However I really appreciate the fine weather and blue skies we have been having too. Here are piccies of the flowering plants. I didn't include the beans you've already seen some of those. LOL
