Red & Green WLSC mid month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping.

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Anesha

Red & Green

I love the traditional red and green for Christmas, this is my offering for mid-month at the Challenge.

With things as they were for me at the time of making this month's cards, and all before hubby's passing. I followed on a theme of the last couple of months using another inspirational card by Katie Skilton from my subscription magazine.

After stamping, I die cut the image and coloured it with DI's. I found some plaid paper in an old paper pad, which was placed and attached to the image. I stamped the sentiment and placed it under the image. These were then attached to red paper. Then onto the base card.

Anything Christmas WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping.

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Anything Christmas

With no idea on such a broad spectrum to choose from, I decided to use a stamp and colour I saw in my subscription magazine. Not a colour I would normally use for Christmas, but I quite like the effect.

With inspiration from Sarah Phelan in the magazine, I stamped the tree and embossed in gold, then blended seedless preserve distress oxide onto the card. I rubbed over the gold, but it didn't come up as bright as I wanted, so I stamped and embossed again.

I then stamped and gold embossed the star corner and the stars on the right. The layer was attached to the mirror card. Next I blended a piece of white card, stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and die cut it. I decided not to layer onto gold.

Birthday Boys

Hi Everyone. I've been trying to make birthday cards in advance and these easy ones came together quickly for our Nephews, they don't visit here, so I'm OK to share them. I don't like to make cards the same for everyone, but things as they are at the moment I had to try to do easy, but different, although the same, if you get what I mean?

Anyhow, they were both die cut from white card and layered onto matching card. I cased the image on the package for the design, just different colours. I then went into Photoshop and looked through my files to see if I had balloons similar to the card colours. Luckily I found some, they were added to the insert design, a verse was added then both printed and inserted into the card.

As I said nice and easy, no thinking as such, and I had 2 cards, but different for the boys birthday.

Chick Birthday card CCC

Hi Everyone, the first of my 2 DT projects today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had a card to make for my Great Niece, so took the opportunity to make it for the challenge too. I had this fabulous chick in my files, so took it into Silhouette and cut around it. Then I chose a floral Spring paper for her and cut the 6 from it. Next, I printed out the sentiment and her name. I thought it needed something else, so used a heart die and coloured the hearts in matching colours, using left over hearts to add randomly. The cut out 6 was added to the base card and the chick was added with an action wobble, to give it some fun for her. Next, I designed an insert with 2 more of the chicks from the set.

this is the wobble action, sorry there is so much black around it, but I rotated the video and then couldn't remove the black. I'll keep trying!

Christmas Card WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Christmas

Out of the selection of Christmas stamps I have, this Jolly Santa shouted at me. I had seen a card that I thought would be great with Santa, so I went looking in my files for suitable paper for the face of the card and found this one. Thinking it is a simple design, suiting the theme of the card.

I added the paper to the cut shaped card, then die cut the circle. The circle needed to be highlighted a little more, I thought, so I embossed it with the next size up die, you can see it in the insert photo. I marked the circle through the hole, to stamp Santa, then coloured him with markers, then rubbed the circle guide out.

Next I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of card, and used a marker to make a simple outline around it, to match the outline theme of the paper, attaching it to the front of the card. I then stamped the insert sentiment. Whilst writing this post, I realised it didn't say "have a". I had a look through my stamps again and luckily found one I could adapt. Too late for this post though.

A fun and simple card, that I think will be duplicated for the small children of the family.

Llama birthday CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I have so many animal digi stamps, that I decided to trawl them and came across this wonderful Llama. I printed her and the sentiment, borrowed from the web. Next, I coloured her with markers and decided to extend the image with stencils and add clouds and extra flowers. They didn't look right, so I added some strokes, with a fine black pen, to the stencilling to copy the image.

After I was happy with the image, I die cut it out and added it to the base card. Simple, but I'm pleased, and it will go to a friend.

markers - Spectrum Noir

New Home

Hi Everyone, I can't get over where the time has gone, I have been busy, and every time I wanted to do comments or come on here I've been thwarted. I've definitely been very busy doing nothing.

I made this card to welcome hubby's sister and her husband to their new home. The same heart was used here. I coloured it with marker pen then placed it onto the card base and drew a pencil line of the centre, the space was then inked. The heart was then placed over it and was attached to the card base.

I then die cut a house, cutting off the top layer, due to them moving to the bungalow. The roof was die cut, they were coloured with markers and attached to the house layer. I added sparkle pen to the door, you can see it in the second photo. Next, I stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and a set of keys. The sentiment and keys were fussy cut and added to the heart.

Yesterday, I decided to spend all day on my 'puter catching up. Then we had a call to say our BiL had been taken into hospital after a fall, last week they moved into the bungalow, so are still in the middle of unpacking. We were asked to house sit and wait for the man who was coming to connect their telephone, everyone else in the family was in work.  I'm sad to say BiL who is 90 isn't well.

Tree/Leaves midmonth WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping
the theme this month being "Anything stamped, option, Trees/Leaves"

I saw a tree card a while ago and saved it, as I thought it gorgeous, and would give me practice at shading.

I started off choosing what colours to use for the circles, after viewing a few mixes of DO's on the web, I decided on this Autumnal scheme. A circle was die cut out of card, and I used it to blend the colours onto the card.

Next, I stamped the trees and the sentiment in gold ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Then I added the stamped layer to a piece of gold card and layered them onto the main card.

Quite simple, but I'm pretty happy with myself at shading the colours. The trees stand out more in real life.

sentiment - John Next Door
inks - Distress Oxide, squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade, wilted violet
circle die - Tonic

A fabulous prize for the Winner, it's from
AALL and Create, A4 stamp set Plant your Dreams

The theme of your entry can be any of your choosing and we would love to see "Anything stamped, option, Trees/Leaves", but most important is that the focal element is hand stamped as our preference (or digital). A small added sentiment or other element to an otherwise non stamped card will be ineligible and may be deleted.

BIG birthday

Hi everyone, I saw a card on a blogger's post and just had to case it, I thought a marvellous design for one of our GNephews, whose birthday it is this week. I went into my Silhouette and cut the letters using a snippet of card from a paper pad and layered it onto navy card. I thought it needed something, so I die cut a candle and added it to the "I". Then I used gold glitter pen and coloured the flame with it. A nice quick card for a change and also in the post, before I knew it. The wonderful card I cased, can be found here. Thank you Karren.

Spring Bloom popup card

Hi Everyone, another card I forgot to post, this was for hubby's Sister. The story behind this was, that after her 2020 birthday, she gave me a centre popup card, that had been given her. She thought I could take it apart and use it on another card? She said she loved it, but as it was a good idea, I could use it. I said I had a couple of patterns the same.

Last November 2021, for her birthday I made this card for her. I know it looks Spring like, but my original thought of the card was sunflowers and leaves, I cut and added dies together onto the centre first and then whilst doing the front to match thought, OH! this looks too Spring like, too late, I had lots of other cards for family at the time, including Christmas, so she was given it. She was thrilled and loved the bright sunny card she said. She put it centre stage. So it was all OK after all.

I added the stamped verse onto the back, I forgot to photograph the back,

I'm in the doldrums with mojo, I really don't know where it's gone, but it was made easier with a wonderful image from QKR that I chose to play with, then a visit to Pinterest, I found a die cut corner, simple card and decided to case it.

The image was coloured with DI's, I added clear sparkle pen. I cut out the card with a pin dot die, the overlay patterned card was also cut with a pin dot die and the corner cut with a circle die. This was 3D'd.

I added a chiffon ribbon and a bow tied with red glitter thread, added some tiny die cut butterflies from the patterned card and added a gem to each. I then stamped the sentiment and cut out with a sentiment die.

Happy New Year Reindeer

 Happy New Year Everyone

Let's pray it's a better one.

I have a New Year card for you today that I thought quite relevant for 2020. I think we are all glad to see the back of it. Here's to 2021, with hopes of everything getting back to normal! I hope you all have had a good Christmas. Thankfully we did and relaxation too. Maybe even a bit too much TV and food. However that's what the new year is for isn't it, to get back into shape?

 Keep safe everyone.

On to why you're here - I love this little reindeer. The sentiment is one hubby has used over the years for different things, so thought it quite apt LOL. I found some long lost gems and added one to his nose, with wobbly eyes. I wanted him as flat as possible for the post. He was coloured and printed off from Photoshop. I added shadows with markers to him and the toilet rolls and a "base" for him too, then added a gold glitter pen to the year and the bells. Not the best of colouring, but he is cute LOL.

dies - Sue Wilson Noble square dies

glitter pen - Uniball
markers - Spectrum Noir
papers - Pixel Scrapper
gem - Hobbycraft

2CCC Pucker up!

Hiya Everyone, my first DT card today is for

the 45th Challenge at

 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

We have no sponsor this month and the DT have chosen their own
favorite images to use on their inspiration projects.
Also, because the team deserves some time off to spend
with their families over the holidays, we won't be commenting
on your entries.  We know you'll understand.  :-D

Despite not having a sponsor, we will have a prize for the winner
and we'll still be choosing a Top 3 for the month so don't skip our challenge!

I have chosen an image I've had a long time, but haven't used, you know how it is. Each year I look at it and say I must use it and birds are critters right? I had the image as a freebie HERE however I have tried to find it and can't. BUT! there are lots more to find in the link. I think it's by Colette Smith, as I have other images of hers and they look a similar style.

Romantic-robins-template (digital stamp)

inks - Distress inks
white pen - Uniball
stitched and holly die - Card Making Magic
red star paper - Inspired Designs dp

seeing as 613 Avenue Create has critters, I'm off over there.

Christmas Turkey and more!

Hi Everyone, my card today is another Christmas card I had to make, yep! to go with another poem by Gill Reed. Her poems are so funny and just as I had this done she went and sent another! She definitely wants to keep me busy LOL.

Anyhow, here is my card, I had this wonderful digital image in my files which I think is absolutely perfect for this poem. How lucky is that? I coloured the image in Photoshop. I printed the papers and cut the image and sentiment with a die, then painted shadows onto the image with markers. I fussy cut the star and added metallic thread, a never before used item! I came across it looking for something else and decided to add it.

papers - Inspired Designs (2012)
thread - Crafting Threads, The Range
markers - Spectrum Noir
die - Tonic
sentiment - my own
poem - Gill Reed

This is the poem that I just had to accompany with my card.

A TURKEY IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS

We had a turkey for Christmas
It was resplendent to be sure,
It was placed at the head of the table,
Close to the kitchen door.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It was the thing to do,
Tradition in our household,
Has always seen us through.

We had a turkey for Christmas
Mother was in a state,
Making sure it had rested well
Before she would get out its plate.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It’s trimmings were sublime,
I’ve never seen a turkey look,
So good at Christmas time.

We had a turkey for Christmas,
We shared in its delight,
And decided there and then to have it
Once again on Boxing night.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It’s now back on the farm
Because we’re vegetarians,
We just enjoyed its charms.
