Masculine birthday

Hi Everyone, my card today was for my eldest brother, this was his present. I had forgotten I hadn't blogged it. I actually cased a card I saw and had to use it, as I thought it so masculine.
My brother is a whiz with computers and is capable of anything really, he likes an occasional brew, (hence the present, so I incorporated his "Techie" skills and his "occasional" brew into the card. I'm glad that this actually had a "good card" from him, he is so understated in his words LOL.

Bird & Stencil

Hi Everyone, another stencil card made at the same time as this one, so colours the same. I had it hanging about, then I saw some stencil cards on the web stamping in black on a stencil, that's all I needed, so off to find a NBUS (as Darnell would say). Of course it was NBUS, it was a stamp LOL. Anyhow I stamped it with Stazon, the only black I have and Versamark watermark ink with clear emboss powder to make it gloss.

I then added a more colouring to the bird to make him stand out a little more. Layered it onto black card, but decided the edge needed to be narrower. I liked the look of the thin cut black card and decided to use it, goodness knows how the corner came together, but it did and I think it looks OK?

Horse stamp

Hi Everyone, another stamped card! I may be getting into this. LOL. I had this stamp given me by my SiL who had been to a craft show where these were given to people, she doesn't stamp, but kindly thought of me and gave me 2 A4 size sheets of stamps, quite an assortment for me to attempt to use!

Anyhow, it was my Niece's birthday a few days ago and as I had this cute stamp and she is the mad horse lover I decided to use it for her. I stamped it with a brown ink, then clear embossed, I painted it and added tiny die cuts I have had a looong time. Cut it out with a round die and added it to some black card to lift it off the main card. I'm glad to say she liked it.

Elephant emboss paste

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for
I hope you'll join us, there's great inspiration throughout the blog for
that masculine card so many find difficult.

Don't forget to add the challenge badge to your post.

My take on the embossing, is to use "paste" which I made myself, by using talcum powder and watered down PVA glue, I also added fine silver glitter into it, I didn't measure! just got it to look like the right consistency to spread!

Then I spread onto patterned paper through a stencil I cut out with my Cameo. I mounted it onto black paper and added it to the card. I printed out the Elephant with the added sentiment, (cased from the web). I coloured the Elephant with marker pens, and mounted that onto black paper. Ribbon added voila! I have to admit I'm loving this card. It's off to my Niece's husband.

I was hoping this photo would show more of the glitter,
oh! well at least you can see the patterned paper - a little LOL.

I followed this sketch, but was too late for the challenge :(

Picture heavy

Hi Everyone, you'll be glad to know this is the last of my etching that I have done in the last couple of months. This was for an old work colleague who was retiring. There was a mishap with arrangements for her party and old work colleagues were crossed of the list!  Because of that I still have it a month later, so I hope she doesn't read this before I see her! I'm trying to get together with her, but with her grandchild  sitting, it's quite difficult, she'll have it one day LOL.

Anyway, I designed it in Silhouette design space with flowers that I have in my files, and now can't find! I traced the outline of one of the flowers and added  them to the vase with her name and wishes. I then cut it out on the Cameo as a stencil with Oracal  651 vinyl.

After it was all etched and washed off I saw I had made a few errors grrr. They  were quite large, so it was do I throw it away OR rescue it? I decided to try and rescue it. I added butterfly shapes to the marked areas, I'm so pleased I made the errors as I prefer them on it. This was difficult to do because of the rounded shape and I think that's how I had large "splot"  areas marked. The black spot is a label saying the glass is hand made.

The etching is so difficult to photograph, this the best I could do.

Of course I had to make a box for it too,
it's made from Navy card and Craft Sensations card pack.
Shame is I am nearly at the end of the pack now, I hate when that happens.

AND then -
I used the shape cut out for the stencil to add to my Cameo and the little bin which holds my WRMK foil pens, win all around methinks.

I thought I would add a few piccies that were taken near us,
it was the result of storm Dennis!

After the water had gone down!

Even the geese have no where to go!

this area hadn't been flooded before, at least not that I remember.
Thankfully just mess left on the main road.

Left behind debris

Shows the strength of the water!

debris left behind on the canal viaduct, there are bridges under the water!

Female 21st

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my GNiece 21st birthday tomorrow, she won't see my blog so I'm safe posting it here. I always start my cards with going through my files first, this time I went through my Silhouette files and found the Cheers and decided to cut it out of vinyl and add it to the card. I still haven't got the way of adding it to card right yet, I have a tiny fold in the 21 somehow, but I don't think she will look too hard, at least I hope not.

The drink glass is one I had as a Progressive freebie from The Outlawz and used on a card in 2011, old stash? I've tried to find the card I did with it then. I've found it in my files but not on my blog, sorry about that.

The glass was coloured and paper pieced in Photoshop in 2011, I just copied it for this card. But, I did a print and cut and layered the glass and added layers of the details. Crystal drops covering the glass. Then added some sequins. After placing everything inside the embossed frame.

1 year old

Hi Everyone, another GNiece has her birthday, this one was the one we were worried about last year who had to have surgery as soon as she was born. Thankfully this little darling is doing well with no lasting effects. She is ONE and this is the card I decided to make for her.
I used this colourway for the bear.

Blue Robins?

Hi Everyone, my first Christmas card of the year, came about entirely by accident, I was looking for a colour combination for me to stamp on, saw this colour combo at the challenge and thought yep! go with that. The colours were added onto acetate, watercolour card placed on it but, it turned out not as I would have hoped. Well it was my first try! Then thought how about a die to cut the colours out, I chose a die which really is so inappropriate for the colours, but I decided to go ahead and this is what happened! Must have been storm Ciara affecting me LOL.

Christmas Card Throwdown
You can slip by this, it's picture heavy!

In the middle of the storm I looked out of the conservatory and saw these pigeons looking so forlorn, as if they are saying to the one sitting under the birdhouse roof - "C'mon it's our turn to be out of the storm!" They sat there for at least 20 minutes like that. Sorry about the not too clear piccies, blame the heavy rain and being taken through the window.

I hope you were all safe and sound in the Storm.

Our Daffs held up quite well.

Stencil

Hi Everyone, my card today happened when hubby was putting plastic into the recycle bin and I noticed some plastic that I thought would be very handy and it turned out to be yes!

We had a business folder for a couple of years that he decided we had had long enough, so the paper and card were cross cut for the bin and the plastic as I said was going in too. I took it and, with my Silhouette Cameo, I cut a couple of stencils out to see if it would and it did! I also tried die cutting, but it wouldn't go through! Here is the result of one stencil. The numbers are what setting I used to cut it, so I can remember for the next cut.

Heart You

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

My card is for my hubby, of course. He is definitely the right one to grow old with, and we have grown old together, after 54 years of marriage in June, he is a keeper! I knew I had a paper pad that had hearts in it, so decided to go with that, I looked to see what sketches I had and came across this sketch nice and simple!

Belated

Hi Everyone, a card today that I did for a  friend, I keep forgetting her birthday as it's the 2nd of January, with all the Christmas things going on it passes me by. Anyhow I made this card for her, she is owl mad and collects anything to do with owls, so I hoped this would make up for my forgetfulness?
The owl image and the paper are magazine freebies

sentiment - computer generated
It's a one layer digital card designed in Photoshop, I added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the image and ribbon and Nuvo Crystal Droops to the "sorry".

I hoped you could see the raised word and gloss on the "sorry"

I haven't shown you photos for a while, so thought I would take this post as an opportunity to show you what the crazy weather we are having, is doing to our garden.
Daffodils flowering. Hubby planted them like soldiers on guard duty LOL.
