Food or Drink TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT post today a second card for

Food or Drink, now that is a great challenge for me, but I have managed to do two for the challenge this month, I couldn't decide which to do, so did both. Birthday cake is food, isn't it?
After a lot of thinking, I looked through some sketches and decided on this simple sketch.
Now for colours, for this I went through my digital papers and this spotty multicolour popped out, I made a banner shape and coloured it in light yellow and added the sentiment. I decided to make the green the main colour, no idea why! I hadn't used watercolour pencils in an age, so decided as the main features were quite small, I would use them. They were all taken into Silhouette and print and cut, the image twice with a 1mm border, as in a die.

The sentiment banner was edged with a DI, so was the spotty paper. They were added to the card. I then decided to add 3D glaze to the image as it looked dull. Then thought to add some stars to make it more celebratory, to which I also added 3D glaze. Card done. Shame you can't see the shine with the glaze.

Penguin CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

A penguin card today, for a Great Niece. It's her birthday in a few days, so I thought a Winter card would be suitable for her, in my files I came across this lovely penguin, suitable for a little girl, with her scarf and flowers. She was taken into Silhouette and print and cut 3 times, the sentiment was also done at the same time, I decided to colour the sentiment the same as the flowers, bringing a little warmth into it.

I also had an embossing folder in my subscription magazine for December, so I decided to emboss a piece of card and then swipe ink onto it, to give a little colour. A few snowflakes added to make it more wintry, and some 3D glaze onto the eyes and feet.

Beary Happy New Year CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I wish you all a Happy New Year.

My first card of the year, a bear that I have had since 2015, certainly not new, but the first time I have used him. I printed him out to suit a 6 x 6 card and die cut him out. I then coloured him. I thought of Winter colours, so went with that. He was then layered onto die cut pearlised card layers, matching the ink colours, the greens look different but are a great match in real life.

As for the sentiment, I found it in my sentiment box pre stamped, I thought it suited, so went with it. After all, we enjoy having fun in the snow, don't we? OK! We used to, hahaha. I added a touch of glue to the sentiment corners, and the snowflakes, and sprinkled glitter onto it. And of course, he had to have eyes and a 3D glaze nose.

CCC Fishes

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

Looking through my files I found these fish, that I have had a long time but not used, so many files I have in the same predicament.

Anyhow, I took them into Silhouette, chose some coloured paper and cut them out. I also did the water layer and the sentiment at the same time. I'm sure I saw the sentiment on the web at some time.  Then what was I going to do with them? I decided to paint the water with DI's, spreading with a wide brush the colours across the background in a wavy pattern.

The fish were then glued together, with a 3D glaze over the top layer and added wobbly eyes. I thought they needed more, so I die cut a background frame for the water layer and the sentiment. All were glued together and attached to the base card.

CCC Fun Pigeon

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had this stamp sitting on my desk for over a week, deciding what to do with him. I looked online for some ideas and found a saying, which meant I went straight to the stamp knowing what to do, the longest time was making the envelope and framed saying.

I stamped him on a piece of card I had in my scraps box, then decided on a different for me, generic background. Next, I stamped the "dots" and used DI's in masculine autumnal colours to blend over them. He was coloured in the same colours apart from his crop. I used 3D glaze for his beak and eyes and white pen for the cere, I didn't know the name of it, so I looked it up! I then stamped some birds to keep him company. He was attached to red card and onto the base card, that I had stamped with the sentiment.

Seeing as he is a homing pigeon, I added the envelope and message he brought home. The envelope and saying was done with Silhouette, printed then cut and scored. I then placed the saying inside the envelope and attached it to the card. His eyes were then 3D glazed.

An apple and a crab! CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had designed this card design a couple of months ago and forgot about it, then came across it and decided it had to be made. I cut the apple and the crab from white 300gsm card and coloured them with markers. The colours are not good in the photo, but they are different reds with an orange. I then added and glossed their eyes. Next the joke was printed, that came from somewhere, using a fun font, and it was die cut. I added the apple and the crab with 3D stickers, as if the crab was holding the apple. They were then added to the base card.

apple - Printable Cuttable Creatables
crab - front crab - Printable Cuttable Creatables
insert crab - Marisa Lerin
markers - Spectrum Noir

You want to know the answer? You probably know it anyway. Here it is, the photo wasn't too good as it was taken in bright sunlight. I added the apple to the centre of the crab, then added a fun quote by me.

You may remember me saying about the magpie shooing our Green Woodpecker from the garden? Well, one of them has come back and keeps coming back, it makes us so happy to see him feeding well on the ants in the lawn. Here he is, not good photos, my phone isn't good at zooming with good quality, but it's a record for us.

Mid month Four Legged Friends WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Pinky of

Four Legged Friends

A fun card today, based on a sketch, a change for me. I stamped the goat and the sentiment, coloured it with DI's, cut it out and inked around the edge of the goat and the card. I went looking for some paper to match, I should have chosen the paper first, but I was lucky to find some in my stash. It was cut it out, and then went looking in my Silhouette files for a border and found this one, that I cut down to fit. I cut it out of matching plainish paper, it's got little dots in it. They were all attached to the base card matching the sketch. Then I decided to add 3D gloss to the horns and eyes. A quick and quite simple card.

Bunny popped up CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

As I said in my previous CCC post, I am trying to use digi images I haven't used, this is another, OK, another bunny, but he is cute isn't he?

I first took him into Silhouette and split the image to cut the base layer, paws, and the head layer separately.  I then looked for a pretty floral Spring paper and found this one in my files. Next, the sentiment was added onto the white card to match the pretty pink of his ears and the paper.

He was printed out, with the white layer that I had added a sentiment. Both were then cut with Silhouette. I then printed the pretty floral paper and cut it to layer the white piece.

It all looked too plain, so I added a few die cut flowers and coloured them in markers. Of course a glaze had to be added to his nose and eyes.

Bunny smile CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I am trying to use up digital stamps I haven't used before, but it's going to be a long road as I have sooooo many. Anyhow, I found this cute bunny, and decided to use it for a GG Niece birthday. I looked for some birthday paper in my files and this came up. I added a black birthday greeting to the paper and printed and die cut it, then attached it onto a die cut paper layer to match the printed paper. They were attached to the card base.

Next I took the bunny into Silhouette and print and cut it three times. I coloured the bunny with markers and 3D'd the hand and feet pieces, it was added to the paper layers. I then added 3D glaze to the bunny's eyes and the camera lens.

The negative and smile word, I designed in Silhouette, and cut it from black card twice, I then painted them with sparkle pen.

Cars 17th birthday card

Hi Everyone, it's my birthday today and I have my family coming for lunch, I love having all of us together.

We all live miles and hours from each other, and as all of us are older, I wonder, each time we meet, if this will be the last time we will be able to get together. With driving becoming more complex, and heavy traffic on the roads they have to travel. Thankfully, the furthest away from Lincolnshire is staying a few days.

We have kept up a tradition, to meet at least once a year, it's usually a couple of times, as we did when my mother was alive.

Here is a photo of us a few years ago, one other brother sadly passed.

Anyhow, enough of my indulgence, here is a card you came here for, it's for a Great Nephew, on his 17th birthday, he is getting a driving licence, so I thought a car card would suit. I've had this in my files from Shirley, my blog friend, for a while and thought it would be great for him. I took it into my Silhouette files enlarged it to an 8 x 8 inch card size, and cut it out. Also added a 17, to cut and add to the centre card, as they are on racing cars.

After cutting it all out, I coloured the top layer of cars with the same colours Shirley had, with marker pens and then glazed them. When dry, they were added onto the black layer and glued together. Both layers of each car were attached to the main card.

The road backing layer is included in the file, so I printed that out and placed it inside the front layer. I had added a birthday verse inside by double printing. After taking the photos, I added glue to the front layers, to make them sit flatter onto the paper. I also made an envelope to fit.

Happy & Bright TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for
https://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
I was stumped big time with the mixed media, but after looking online for ideas, I came to the conclusion that it was just using different things to make a card. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I had a few male birthdays, well 7, out of a total of 11 birthdays in March. I decided to do 2 similar, but, I didn't know where to start. Going through the many paper pads I have, I found bright papers, suitable for the male species. These were die cut for a landscape 5 x 7inch card.

Then my Silhouette came out to cut this layered happy birthday, in matching colours for each paper. Starting with the light blue background, then the black layer, the purple Happy was next, then the black and green for the birthday. I coloured all the additional letters cut in white card, for layering, in colours to match the papers.

The Happy letter cut out, was used as a "stencil" to add a glass bead paste layer onto the Happy letters. The birthday letters were covered in 3D glaze, after I had attached them to the birthday layer. Just one thing, t looks like the B and the R are both red, nope, the B is red, the R is orange. It must be the light.

I then stamped a sentiment and die cut it, adding it to the finished card.
my mixed media, contains

paper -  Craft Sensations
Happy Birthday - My Scrap Chick
die - Card Making Magic 5 x 7 Card & box set

I love the bead effect, I saw it originally on a Christmas tree on Loll's blog here. Not the same brand, though, hers looks finer and more even.

Spring Happiness CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

The title of my post today is very apt, as Critter Crazy Challenge has been saved by the marvellous Becca Sadler, who also has other wonderful challenges to follow.

I saw this digital stamp in a sale and had to have it, so cute, and I could use it for a friend. I took it into Silhouette and cut 3 images. Then stuck for a design, I looked at a few sketches I have saved and found this.

I looked for paper to use with it, and as it's St Davids Day today, I used this daffodil paper, from 2017. Using DI's I coloured the image to match and attached the 3 layers. Next I die cut a square of yellow card and white which was slightly smaller, onto which I blended green and blue to make a simple background for the image, which was added to it. I also added 3D glaze to the eyes and nose.

A die cut a circle of the yellow card, that also surrounds the main image, and a white circle of the next size up which was blended to match. The daffodil paper was added to another piece of the yellow card. All then added to the base card.

digi stamp - Di's Digis, Spring Happiness
inks - Distress Inks, dried marigold, fossilized amber, wild honey, tea dye, brushed corduroy, antique linen, old paper, shabby shutter, bundled sage
sentiment stamp - Spring Florals SCP#226
paper - Daffodil Cheerfulness, The Lovely Studio (Pink Petticoat as was)
 card - Lidl
3D glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze

I hope to see you at the Critter Crazy Challenge which as I said is continuing under the guidance of Becca Sadler. Whoop Whoop

A Happy St Davids Day

Slider card CCC

Hi Everyone, the first of my DT makes today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I know there are Christmas cards about now, but my GGNephew was 5 recently, and this is the card I sent him. I love the interactive cards for the children, and decided to make one with dinosaurs, well every little boy loves dinosaurs, don't they? I hope he does :)

I printed the background twice, then cut a narrow slit, wide enough for the sentiment. I then added card to the slider and a Pull instruction tab.

Next the dinosaur was taken into Silhouette and I print and cut a couple of layers, they were attached and added to the tab. You know I hate fussy cutting.

I die cut the number, coloured it to match and attached it to the top corner of the card, I then covered it with 3D Glaze. I computer generated and printed out his name and it was attached too. After that I decided it needed grass, so off to my Silhouette again and I cut 2 strips to add to the bottom of the image. After cutting I inked the edges.

I also included a colouring page I downloaded from BusyShark.net of a dinosaur and birthday cake.
I can't find the card dinosaur or background in my files. I've had it for at least 14 years. I can only find it in another card I made. But can't find that on my blog either. Duh!
