Bauble in box

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all finished with your Christmas preparations and able to enjoy a tot of mulled wine, or something stronger?

My post today was a little unexpected, a neighbour came and asked me if I would make a bauble and box, as I had done for her other great grandson. (I can't find the photos or post of it) she has had a new great grandson, named Lorenzo, an Italian name, although, she says, he's from a very Welsh family.

So out with my Silhouette, cutting the box the same as this one. I used green card and cut paper from a pad, years old. I cut and glued it all together, then realised I had put the paper on upside down! Thankfully, I had just one more piece of the same paper from the pad. All glued and the box was finished.

Two Welsh flags were printed, also requested, and die cut, so I could stick them together to be seen from any angle. I filled the bauble with faux snow and hung, with fishing line, the flag, so it moved when it shook, with the snow. Next, with my Silhouette, I cut assorted snowflakes from permanent vinyl in white and his name and the year in gold vinyl.  I then closed the bauble and added the snowflakes, name, and year. I'm happy to say she was very pleased with it.

I added snowflake paper to the lid, as it was difficult to match the bottom paper.

Heart CHC

Hi Everyone, my DT post today is for

The theme for this month is "LOVE"

I cheated a bit on this one, as I had already done a slate heart, it was a present for my Niece. I had already made one each for my brothers and their wives. I don't usually give my nieces presents, but as we were seeing her over the holidays, I felt I had to, so this was the result, something for her house. I chose something to do with Wales for this, as she lives in England. I love doing things in the Welsh language. I can read it out loud, but not speak it, the shame of it. blushing!

I found this Welsh verse on the web and I designed it all in my Silhouette program, using the Daffodil our National flower and the Red Dragon from our flag.  The images were cut and the verse from different coloured vinyl and attached it to the slate. Sounds easy doesn't it? It was a bit of a so and so to get it right. As you can see with the verse letters, they kept coming off with the vinyl and me reattaching them, it doesn't look too bad, but I wish they were straighter. Well! it makes it look rustic! 😉

Croeso means - Welcome
The verse translated means -
This house runs on Love and Happiness.

slate heart - The Works
vinyl - Oracle 151
daffodil - a mix of images I have
dragon - the web

I hope to see you in the Challenge, it lasts all month.

New Year stars CHC

Hi Everyone, I'm over the moon to have been asked to join the DT of

I wanted to get involved asap, so I made a New Year card, it also had to be a quick one as it had to be posted in the Challenge which this month is "Celebrations".

What could be a Celebration this time of year? I chose a Happy New Year, hoping it will be better than last year. Fortunately for me, I had a file come through in a Newsletter, on the same morning I was asked to join the Challenge, which I decided was just right for me and this challenge. It was a colouring image, but I decided to make it into a cut file. Using my Cameo, I cut it with glitter gold vinyl, then placed that onto silver mirror card. They were both placed and matched up, behind the black card, I had also used to cut the image out of. It's difficult to get the shininess of the card in the photo, there was no sun, and it was wet and miserable when the photo was taken, but it is so shiny.

It's still in the first week of the New Year, so I think this is still OK to post and
wish you all a Happy New Year.

"Caterwauling!"

Hi Everyone here I am with my card for today, it's for the new challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I chose to use the fun singing cats image for this birthday card. I printed the image out and cut it with a die after cutting out the tail and feet to get them out of the frame, then coloured it and the edges of the die cut. I printed the paper out and die cut that also, so quite an easy card. I 3D'd the cat circle.

Then I had some fun with my Cameo by cutting the Happy Birthday music notes out gold vinyl and placing it on acetate for the bottom border, it was so fine it went a bit wonky, however I thought that was what the cats would sound like, so I kept it to show the "Caterwauling!" LOL. Then added some more notes around them, even more off key! I added a few layers of brown card for the sentiment. That was it. This makes me smile, I hope it does you too.

Female 21st

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my GNiece 21st birthday tomorrow, she won't see my blog so I'm safe posting it here. I always start my cards with going through my files first, this time I went through my Silhouette files and found the Cheers and decided to cut it out of vinyl and add it to the card. I still haven't got the way of adding it to card right yet, I have a tiny fold in the 21 somehow, but I don't think she will look too hard, at least I hope not.

The drink glass is one I had as a Progressive freebie from The Outlawz and used on a card in 2011, old stash? I've tried to find the card I did with it then. I've found it in my files but not on my blog, sorry about that.

The glass was coloured and paper pieced in Photoshop in 2011, I just copied it for this card. But, I did a print and cut and layered the glass and added layers of the details. Crystal drops covering the glass. Then added some sequins. After placing everything inside the embossed frame.
Cheers - Silhouette Design Store
I added the 21 to the cheers
digital stamp - April Rawlings
vinyl - Oracal 651
glaze - Nuvo Crystal drops
frame die cut - Crafting Magic
embossing folder - Bubbles by Scruffy Little Cat
blue paper - Craft Sensations

This was the original card.

Cupcake flower

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Limited Runs FB challenge and the Outlawz sketch challenge. I did something I have seen done, but never done myself. Will I do it again? mmmmmm not sure, it was fiddly to say the least, perhaps it was the design and the size of it. Perhaps better in paper or card for this project.

Anyhow here is my card.
cupcake - Limited Runs
dp - Pixelscrapper
flower die - Tattered Lace
Sparkle and Shine on image and flower die.
and the thing I haven't tried before is adding vinyl to a card!

Teapots and cups in an earlier post.

Teapot and Teapot and mugs

Hi Everyone, after a great deal of thinking what else I could give to hubby's Sister for Christmas,  I saw this teapot in Matalan and saw a similar image for a kitchen wall on the web, so I decided to combine the two and make my own image and here it is.

Cut on the Cameo in vinyl. She loved it and now uses it everyday, I am so pleased I got someone so difficult to buy for, something she uses.

Here is the teapot and mugs for a gift for SiL number 2, this is the SiL and Brother we stay a lot with, so as a gift for this stay I did the mugs too.  I did the Teapot and couldn't think what to put on the mugs, then saw one with Tee-hee on the web, what do I put on the other? well of course Tea-Her! - sorry for my sense of humour LOL. I added the male and female sign to enhance the sayings!!!

Only thing is, the mug and teapot don't match, I felt the ones that matched were difficult to hold, so as it's a just a bit of fun I bought the others.
Glad to say they liked them and had a laugh too.

Now just to show how mad I am, this was made in a time of "what the heck can I do to play" moment, when I didn't have any mojo, but wanted to do something.
I was just pinging around Pinterest, I saw images for light switches?

SO - here is my light switch in my craft room. The reaction of my son? -you'll be tattooing the house soon!!!!!!! Hubby's reaction - he shook his head with a smile,  he knows me so well LOL.

the image - Dr Digi "Phyllis the Festive Fairy", a delicate fairy is not me!
It was her or nothing LOL.

This caught the light, but it's straight LOL.

This is a better photo but at an angle,
I LOVE walking into my craft room and having a smile when seeing it.

I hope you have a fun day today.

Pansy Bloom & 50th Anniversary present!

Hi Everyone, I'm combining 2 posts into one, so lots to see and read, allow some time LOL. you have been warned!

Firstly the Outlawz Sketch challenge, I used
Sprite Pansy AuroraWings digitally coloured
Dp's and pansy by Alexis Design Studio
Spectrum Noir pens to edge paper and colour lace and ribbon, to match
Pin dot dies, oval Tattered Lace, square Susan Wilson
sentiment Doodle Pantry

Now for something different -

Our friends had their 50th wedding anniversary last week and a little while ago I promised to show you their present from us. What do you get a couple who have everything and don't want presents?

Luckily I saw an idea on the web and was able to buy the last glass cutting board for the kitchen top at our local Dunelm! The silver effect surround on the glass was already on it and I added a leaf shape, their names and when they married. I'm pleased to say they liked it.

Cut on the Cameo, vinyl was used as a stencil and
I then used Armour etching cream,
I found moving the cream around for about 5 minutes was a good result,
I added it to the underside of the glass.
black paper underneath to show the etching

I then decided to add some fun with a couple of mugs,
adding vinyl, cut on the Cameo - wifey and hubby
and 50 inside a heart shape

this is the gift box for the mugs, cut on the Cameo
from a paper pack from The Range

Vinyl with the Silhouette Cameo

Hi Everyone, my post today is to show you a couple of things I have been doing with the Cameo and vinyl. I had an idea for a present and needed to get it practiced before I did the present.

The first thing I ever did with etching, is this glass, I know I will improve, mostly because, as hubby says, I was too impatient to do the project before covering everything, so there were a couple of dots that splashed while I was putting the cream on. but I WAS excited to try it. LOL.

I used Armour Etch cream, after I weeded out the letters of
the vinyl and placed it onto the glass.
A so and so to take a photo of it though.

I also did some more vinyl onto glass, this time a mirror with a design,
I did in Photoshop, with PS shapes, and  a sentiment I
saw on the web, I transferred it to Silhouette,
cut the vinyl and placed onto the bathroom mirror,
it made the men in the house laugh anyway.
It looks a double cut, but the mirror has mirrored it.
Another one difficult to photograph.

I can't let you see the next yet, as it's the present, I have been practising,
and I know she visits occasionally.
I'll let you see in a few weeks, after she gets it!

My next project, can you tell I love doing this? LOL
I had seen on FB lots of Gals had used wood and tiles to
add names for wedding presents etc. Too late for the wedding
in our family, but not too late for me! so here is MY tile.
Done with black glossy vinyl and silk? effect gold.
The wood effect tile I got for 50 pence in a
 tile shop, it's 12 inches x 3 inches.
the est. is, of course, when we married.
