Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps:
A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was seven years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

As my friends and family are in the senior age range, I thought a little bit of vintage and fun would be suitable.

Blue Tulips!

Hi Everyone,
WHOOOOPPPPEEEEEEEEEE
Congratulations to my fellow Welshman
 Geraint Thomas
on winning the Tour de France.

I have been trying to catch up on challenges I usually enjoy and this is for one of them. The Outlawz Progressive challenge. The sponsor is Andrea Norris at Sheepski Designs who gave this wonderful image of Tulips for us to use. I was wondering what to do, as I wanted to make it in the shortest time possible, - it didn't happen!

I added everything to the front of the card, went to open it and found I had added it upside down! I really didn't want to do it all again, so cut the back off the ready made card, I got another, but folding the front in half, thankfully an easel was made to rescue everything. Whew! But that meant doing more for the insert, oh! well the best laid plans and all that, in the end I'm quite pleased with it. AND I made my first ribbon folded roses/flowers!
Tulips - Sheepski Designs

don't you just think the "folds" in the background paper look real?

Miyabi framed

Hi Everyone, after being on this image a long while, I decided to finish it and as there is a challenge going over at Aurora Wings, I decided to frame and enter it.

image - Miyabi full version Aurorawings
coloured in Photoshop CS6
background paper - Miya J Nastasja KatcoCreation Collab Paper 07
trees in corners - PS Japanese brushes
Japanese writing - unknown (from 2004)
I already had a frame, it was white, so I added gold lustre wax to it,
it now has a lovely golden shine to it.

I hope I have done justice to the beautiful image, it is not perfect, but I am pleased and have it on display in my conservatory.

when printing it out I printed in landscape instead of portrait!
but I may make this fit an 8 x 8 frame.

Unexpected item???

Hi Everyone, my DT post today is for

I really didn't have a clue and then I saw a card that put an idea in my mind, BUT I didn't have the item! What to use instead? after a few hours, literally, it came to me! - Makeup remover pads!!!! I was so pleased with the idea I made 2 cards! LOL

To make them more stable, the layers part easily don't they? I sprayed them with hairspray (didn't have spray glue) until they were soaked. Let them dry and put them into my stamp platform.

When I pressed the stamp down I found it debossed the pad, BUT didn't add the colour, may have been the old inks I used. Anyhow, as they were debossed, I coloured the part with the pen, then to seal it, I added Versamark to the stamp and embossed the pads.

Onto the card with a computer written sentiment. I'm not too sure of it's success, but loved trialing it. btw, the sentiment looks wonky! I thought it wasn't until I saw it here, so will have to remove it and correct it, isn't it funny that in real life you don't see it?

My second card is using a die for the 2 pads, I thought it would make an ideal igloo? I stretched them slightly to fit the oval shape, then added a shadow with the Sheena Douglass Sparkle pens, added some glitter glue, which picked the layer up slightly, I think it's OK though.

first card -
embossing folder and stamp - Magazine freebies
Sheena Douglass Sparkle pens

second card
igloo - Rcool
Apple Blossom Embossing folder
very old Whisper ink
Penguins with the holly die, are a win from Christina Griffiths blog

Cat monochrome

Hi Everyone, my post today is for
https://morgansartworld.blogspot.com/2018/06/june-challenge.html

I chose this wonderful cat with daffodils for my subject, now you know me and my daffodils? Of course their yellow or even a little orange. BUT today I decided to do something completely from the norm, for me, and that was to choose monochrome colour tones. The daffs are yellow, the tree brown, the rest is greyish pink, so delicate you can hardly see the colours and for someone who LOVES vibrant colours, so not me, but you know what? I like it.

I coloured it in Photoshop CS6
papers are by Pixelscrapper
the wonderful quote is by -Create with TLC
pin dot dies - Tattered Lace
gems - stash
I based the design on a sketch by Mojo 454
I heat embossed the image

Brave WIngs

Hi Everyone, my DT post today is for

It's also a few days late!!!!!! sorry Team.

I have chosen this lovely image, which I coloured in Photoshop, then gave it a painting feel by adding a canvas texture to it. I also added a mosaic effect background also done in PS. I found a fabulous cut file frame to use with my Cameo and felt it was the perfect design for this wonderful warrior lady. I didn't think she needed anything else. For some reason my lady isn't printing as bright as I painted her. You'll find better colours below on the originals.

background paper on image - Booland Designs
paper layers - stash
black line frame - Rosie De Lise
cut on the Cameo
sentiment off web

I have added with and without canvas effect, which do you prefer?
