hat and mittens

Hi Everyone, hope all your preparations are well under way or finished, I am thankfully, except food shopping which I think I will leave until Sunday, probably when most will be doing it ugh! I'm working Monday and Tuesday so can't do it then, so Saturday or Sunday it is.  Only a couple of cards left of people I forgot!!!! so bad of me.

Anyway, a card for you today, you know I am a fan of Elizabeth Dulemba, well she is asking for Christmas cards for her gallery, so thought I would oblige.  Here is my contribution.  I chose her hat and mittens, seeing as a few friends "over the pond" have deep snow and we are getting a bit colder too.

I have decoupaged the image and used tiny eyes to accentuate the eyes on the mittens,  I paper pieced it all from a digi kit "Jovie" by Gina Cabrera. I used Atomic Cupcake's chalk action in PS to edge the snowflake paper, then cut a few of the image to get layers. I added buttons from the kit too, but added shadows to them rather than cut them out. A real cheery card as is the message, hope old neighbours will enjoy it.

1st Christmas card

Hi everyone, goin' to be another quickie I'm afraid.

The card is of course a first Christmas card, the image from Pink Petticoat coloured in PS, paper pieced with PP paper, then glittered a bow added, it has to be done doesn't it?  Simple.

Birthday Fairy

Hi Everyone, I'm going to be quick again!  Here's a card I did for a work colleague who needed a bit of a lift, so I thought magic, yep! a lot of people would like to know how my mind works LOL.

Anyhow, here it is a digi stamp from Karen's Doodles, I was there a couple of weeks ago and she has opened up again.

I coloured it in PS following this colour combo by Seeds and added a blue background sky from Magiclands a digikit by Designs by Brigit, I just realised the paper is magic as well as the fairy, so I did know what I was doing after all, even though it was subliminal! oh! this is getting to complicated, I'll get on with the card.  I layered some silver mirror card then added glitter, as you can see some of the places I have added it are quite small, but I have a fine tip applicator which makes it soooooooooooo easy, HERE I wouldn't be without it, I even use it to add my paper to card.

Rudolph card

Hi Everyone, Sorry to be such a bad blogger, but had 5 minutes so thought I would you show you one of my Xmas cards.  It's an image from ELizabeth Dulemba HERE and I love the happy face on this Rudolph reindeer.  I coloured it in PS and placed it on a background I coloured in PS too, I added a snowflakes digi by Kimeric, I then cut around Rudolph added a layer of his head and scarf, sparkled the snowflakes added a tag of the snowflake and background paper and 3D it all onto the card oh! yes and added 3D gloss to his nose. I've added an angle view too.  Quite simple, but I think a happy card. Hope you do too.

101 birthday

Hi Everyone, hope the sun is shining where you are, it certainly is here this morning for a change, so nice to see light at this time of year instead of the miserable weather we have been having of late.

Another quick post to keep you in the loop so to speak, I am going to endeavor to get mojo trapped so that I can start my Xmas cards, no, I've not done any for me except my last post. gulp, AND it's only 21 days to go, my overseas cards should have gone by now, so Mr MOJO had better get here soon TODAY!

A card to show you, I was asked to make a 101 year old birthday card, isn't that incredible.  I was in the middle of my fair stuff at the time and didn't have time to make something that took too much time, so I got some papers together a quote from TLC and made this, I'm glad to say all concerned were pleased with it.  The papers are by Samantha at Pixel Scrapper the shape tag is from Paper Garden Handflowers digi kit cut file. I punched some stars out as, at his age, he is a star and loved too.

Quick post AGAIN

Hi everyone, where is the time going? I still haven't started my Xmas cards and meant to start this pm, hoever Son comes and says his friend has had a baby girl and would I make one for him! Of course it had to be done today!

I had my first fair last week, last year it was a rip roaring success, this year was a damp squid!  It may have had something to do with it being held 2 weeks earlier than other years and before pay day, not sure what it was, but such a disappointment after my hours and hours of hard work. Never mind, hope the one this week will be better attended and if not, the children's ward will be thrilled as they were last year with the few things I had over then.

Any how, just a little card today as Elizabeth Dulemba was asking for Christmas cards, I HAD to do one of her little characters LOL.  I did one VERY quickly and this is it, I love these little bears of hers and put a sentiment that I thought suited the bears.  I wish you could see how sparkly this is. Love the expressions on their faces.  The background paper is by Carin Grobe at Digital Scrapbooking Design, I used a white brush in PS to add the snow then shadowed all the elements. Then added Glamour dust to sparkle it.

I added this to LIM after a comment from Marie, should have thought of it before!

I hope I'll be back here sometime this week with another offering.

After posting I decided to enter a couple of challenges here they are.

lampshade

Hi Everyone, I am so sorry not to have commented on many of your projects or cards, it really is because I am flat out and getting no where, we have my Brother and SIL this weekend so everything had to be packed up, so we could have a bed to sleep in.  The fair is next Saturday and I have made 1/2 of what I made last year and last year I sold it all, I feel like I am in trouble!

Anyway as my SIL has gone to bed early with cold symptoms and is not well, I have a few minutes to play, so thought I would let you see another of my "makes" for the craft fair.  I made a pattern in PS from a fabulous holly digi from Digistamp Boutique printed on printable vellum, I added ribbon to the top and bottom of the shade and a ribbon tied around the stem of the wine glass. I added a tealight inside of the glass with the base wrapped in the vellum, I think you may be able to see it.  It seems to be very popular already.

I shall enter the following challenges hope this is OK for an entry.

Poster for the boys!

Hi everyone, a quick post to let you know I am still here but still VERY busy, I think it was the worst (or best?) that I took samples of my craft fair into work.  I have a table there in December and orders coming in like crazy, the problem is I have a table in the church in a couple of weeks and I can't keep up with making things, so for the next few weeks I won't be here very often.  I expect people want silly stocking fillers as I have done.

Here is a sample of one very popular item.  I downloaded the gift label from HERE as it has a perfect image and sentiment for the gift.  I was lucky enough to buy the ribbon from a garden centre we stopped at one time, sorry can't remember where, but it was 96 meters yes 96! for £10.00.  Wish I had bought another one now, at the time I didn't know I was doing the fairs.

I'm also adding a poster I have done for "the boys" in work for their night out, I have left it as it is on PS as I haven't printed it out yet, of course I have obscured the place they are meeting.  The men and label are a freebie from Papercraft and Inspiration Magazine the digi paper background is paper 1 from the digi kit "bohemianfall" by Vero.  The shapes are default in PS with a gradient overlay

SO I am doing other things as well as making - whew!

Hope you are all well and getting ready for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

60th birthday friend

Hello Everyone, a short post as time is of the essence LOL.

I just wanted to post a card I did very quickly last night, AND to show I am not slacking LOL.

I had an email with apologies at 5.30 last night to let me know that a friend's birthday was on Wednesday and would I make a card for her so that it could be delivered with the flowers we are sending to her, (she is also off sick atmo). It meant that it had to be taken into work today AND Strictly Comes Dancing was at 6.30 aaarrrggghhh!  Well this is what I managed to do after going through a lot of files for something to "click".  The paper is from Miriam Freebies, I added a ribbon, which is practically the same colour, why does that happen when a photo is taken?  and added another layer to the flowers, oh! yes and a bit of net to finish off.  It actually looks much nicer IRL.

I'm not entering any challenges as it's too quick a post to see if one suits!

Hope you all have a good week.

Craft fair make and to make

Hi Everyone, just thought I'd come and show you what a hive of activity (mess) I have in my spare bedroom craft room, there are things made and to be made, as for the wine glasses, no they are not for a party, but to sell with shades I am making.  When I have made a few I'll show you, but at the moment, I have to get on!

Have a happy Halloween :)

Halloween birthday card

Hi Everyone, sorry for my absence, hope you missed me!

I have made a mass of items for my craft fair for the church, whew! one of the girls in work asked me to bring in some of what I had made, I took a few samples and then had orders given to the girl I had taken them in to see, which now means MORE work, not that I'm sorry more the merrier for funds :)

Anyhow, I am posting a card today I made for yet another niece, her birthday is on the 30th and this year thought I would take the Halloween route for a change.  She is over 40 so the poem is one I know she will enjoy.   The image is from Elizabeth Dulemba, you know I LOVE using her images.  I didn't want to just write Happy Birthday on the front, so went in search of a poem I could use and found this one by Joe Donnelly on Family Friend Poems HERE  I think it suits the little witch perfectly, the one on the card that is LOL.  ( I contacted Joe Donnelly for permission to use his poem, you should visit the site just to read the remainder of the poem, it is so funny.)  Sorry wrong link, but I have updated the link to the poem

I added a circle to represent the moon, (or the sun for the poem) then used a gradient to do the background, I used a paper that I had designed, with an overlay I have had for yonks and yonks for her coat, then 3D'd the image and added sparkle. I think it is generally known as "fussy cutting" now.  Quite simple really.

HELP template wanted

HI everyone, sorry I've been so busy preparing craft fair stuff I haven't been able to comment or blog, even though I have a few cards to show.

This post is a cry for help.

I need an svg file for a box to hold 4 tealights in a long box .  Yes I know there a few drawn templates out there, and I have spent quite a bit of time trying to make one into an svg. I have made one, but it is quite time consuming even though it is cut on my machine however I would like simple!!!!! so that I can make more than the six I made yesterday, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very thankful.  I have made a box for 4 by just using a 111mm square box and adding a shaped cut out for the top, then scoring with the Crafters Companion box maker, it has worked well, but for some reason I can't get the long box to work the same, any ideas or templates I could use.

Thanks for your time.

EDITED 18th October  - Well what a plonker, I have told you I made a square box with Crafters Companion box maker, and then ask for help for the other box, I went to bed and had a Eureka moment, and made a box to size in the same style as the square one, can't believe I panicked about it.  I will transfer the size into my program and make a cut out to fit the top.  Sorry folks.

Birds Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, we have had the most beautiful day, a cold wind but oh! the sun just wonderful!

Anyhow a quick post tonight. I have been trying all week to do something for the challenge and finally with hours to spare I have done something.  It's a digi scrapbook page, I'm not too good at scrapbooking, so I have used a template and as I have a short time to enter the challenge it is a literal template page.  The template is by The Shabby Shoppe. The photos are the birds in my garden and the papers are from Summertime Designs.

Computer birthday card

Hiya Everyone. Another beautiful day, I just love days like this, I've been out this morning collecting acorns! why you ask, well they are for my church craft fair and hopefully I will be able to show you what I did, nothing brilliant I may add, just a little fun so that a 50pence can add up to a few pounds for the church - hopefully.

The card today is one I made for my son, he was in the computer workplace doing different types of things, before his illness, so thought this would be a fun card for him.  (He did like it)

I used Dr Digi's IT Ian, the quote is from Quotes-Lover on which I used a gradient in PS, to match the paper from Booland Designs Happy Birthday digi kit. I coloured IT Ian in PS. and paper pieced him to match the paper background, (but I can't now find the papers I used - sorry) and decoupaged him. I did laugh to myself after making this, because I added digi tape and thought why couldn't I have just added sellotape LOL. Nah! looks better I think. It's from Gina Cabrera

Have a good Sunday

Circus clown

Hiya Everyone, I'm sorry I have been a really bad blogger, but time is whizzing by and before I know it another day is over, so my apologies, will try and do better,  (always on my term result comments from each teacher - Faith can do better) it's been the bane of my life.  Never mind, I have been doing some commenting on great cards and projects :)

Ok now on to today, I didn't know which card to show you as I haven't posted many of what I have done recently, then decided on this.

I was asked to make a 40th birthday card for a girl who loves clowns! she collects all sorts of clowns. The image is one from imaginemakeshare.blogspot.co.uk a free digi. quite a fun image I thought.  I coloured it all in PS, made a tent also in PS.  I liked the idea of black and white to really lift the colours and chose Pink Petticoat Black Dots.  I 3D'd the image and added a nice bit of glitter

I suggested maybe as she was such a fanatic she would like a bag, so did that as well, I am glad to say she was thrilled with it all.  Hope you like it.
Have a great weekend.

To lift up my brother

Hi Everyone, thank you so much for all your lovely comments recently, I have tried to get around everyone, hope I haven't left anyone out, if I have I apologise and will try again tomorrow.

My card for today is one which was inspired by this one by Cynthia on the Create with TLC  blog,
I haven't been able to access her blog, but if she sees this thank you.

I wanted a card for one of my dear brothers, number 2 of 4, who has been diagnosed with motor neurone, I'm afraid he is on a short lease and I send him a card as close to every week as I can, he lives a few hundred miles away so getting to see him is not often I'm afraid.  We can't communicate much anymore as he has lost his speech.  Anyhow thanks to Cynthia, I came up with this card after having the sentiment from Paulette at Create with TLC  blog.  I hope it lifted him as much as I wanted it too.

I shall enter the following challenge with it.

WOW over 50000 page views

Hi Everyone, I know the pageviews may be very little compared to some of your amazing blogs, but every step (view) is good in my eyes. 50000, is amazing to me, that means all those people have visited, I just hope they and you enjoyed your stay, if only for a few minutes.

On to my card, I had to do a card for a boy who loves indoor climbing, so this is what I did for him.  The image is a digi from Bugaboo, the paper is one I did myself, I thought it could be the "wall" I've added it below if you want it. I 3 D'd the image added eyes, buttons, which represents the holds in indoor climbing, glossed the 10 and added a quote which came from the web.  Quite simple, but I think OK for a 10 year old who, I don't think, wouldn't notice the finer details

I've tried out a new Logo, what do you think?
and yes the picture could have been a bit brighter, - sorry.

Here is the paper!

Rhino birthday

Hi Everyone, from a wet and miserable, supposed to be sunny and warm day!

Firstly I have to apologise for not doing enough commenting, then to my new followers, I am honoured you have thought my cards good enough to follow.

On to my card, it is for my niece's husband, (yes I know you can't believe I can be old enough to have nieces nearly old age pensioners LOL, I think I would have a playful slap if they knew I had said that LOL)  Anyhow, I wanted a fun card for him, so looked through my digis and this Rhino here by Elizabeth Dulemba  for some reason popped out, I wonder sometimes how my mind works LOL. but as I have said before I love her images. I went online to find a quote to match, saw this joke and it is perfect for this isn't it? (the answer inside)
digi image

finished card

The paper is by Summer Driggs and the green one is from Numb Bumm, the joke is from here I added the rest to make it apt for the card, I had the Tarzan image from Disney cartoons a free download.  I printed the Rhino image out twice and raised the layer, doesn't that bird look like he's listening, hope he laughed afterward LOL.

Over the Hill

Hi Everyone, hope I am doing this right, it's the first time I have scheduled a post.

I was asked to be Guest Designer on Decorate to Celebrate,  HERE now I don't usually have someone that I can do a celebration for, but on this occasion we had a friend of ours celebrating his birthday, so I thought it would be just the right event to make for an Over the Hill celebration, especially as he is most certainly over the hill LOL.  Did I say that?

Anyhow, I made a card, a T shirt, wrapping paper and a "coffin" with sweets enclosed and a tag, also a banner, they were all using the Bugaboo digi stamp GusBday Over the Hill, just perfect.  I'm glad to say he saw the joke and even had his card and the tag on his mantlepiece for a couple of weeks.  He has worn the T shirt down to the beach and when they were on holiday in Ostend!!!

I think he liked them all. LOL.

Spaceman birthday

Hi Everyone, can you believe it? it's me AGAIN.

Tonight I have a card I have made for my nephew and Goddaughter's husband, taking the easy way out, they don't live near one another and never see each other, so I'm safe on this, LOL.

I happened to notice that Digistamps4joy were offering a freebie, and as I was struggling to get something into my minds for the men, I thought this great.  And as it was a freebie only fair to enter their challenge with it.

The papers are by dedesmith from a digi kit Moonlit dreams, they really are lovely. I followed this sketch.
I coloured the spaceman in PS I added a shadow for him too, can you see it?
added masses of glitter to the stars and on the planet ring.  Just thought spaceman, out of this world! so wrote the sentiment!

Eat cake!

Hi Everyone, can you believe it, I am here again, but with a bit more time tonight.

I have another niece birthday card, yep I have a few LOL.  This is because she loves chocolate as the family do, chocoholics I'm afraid yum yum, (although just being diagnosed as type 2 diabetic has curtailed my intake!)

Anyhow back to the card, it's a great image from Elizabeth Dulemba, I have used so many of her images, I just love them you can get them HERE, I used papers by Ellie Lash here which I paper pieced in PS, so easy to do with Elizabeth's images. The quote was from a card I came across here and thought it apt for this card, the inside says "The sacrifices that I make for my friends is endless!" I know she will appreciate that.  I've decoupaged the image (UK style) then added Perla pen to the "icing" on the cake, some glitter around the frill a bit of ribbon - done!

A little extra tonight, as I said a little more time to play here, a photo of dirty windows doesn't usually present itself as a topic to include in my blog, but this ghostly image, was something we woke up to recently, I think the bird involved would be suffering a headache LOL.  Oh! yes the windows have been cleaned after the rain!

Dandelion mouse birthday

Hi Everyone. Another whizz by post, sorry to be such a bad poster, I am trying to get things together and trying to comment as much as I can.

My post today is for a Meljens challenge. I had to make a birthday card for a niece, so thought I would incorporate it into this challenge as I haven't entered Meljens for quite a while.

The card is a sketch by The Hybrid Chick, the papers are by Chrissie W Digital. The delightful image is of course Meljens and is Dandelion Mouse. I have done it all digital for posting reasons.  I also added digi stitching by Atomic cupcake, some glitter and Perlen pen in the patterned paper corner. The challenge theme is (Put elements on your project that begin with the letter of your first name) well as mine is F, I used the mouse who is "floating", well, worth a shot LOL.

Spiderman card

Hi Everyone, another super quick post.

This time I was asked for a Spiderman card, I got the image from a free download site, but won't be entering any challenges as I wouldn't have thought the image suitable for any at the moment.  The spider paper is by Summertime Designs, the web is by Gina Jane, the big spider is by ambowife.  I cut out a few layers to decoupage the Spiderman and and the big spider, I then added a magnet to the top layer of the spider and the one below, as you can see in the piccies it can be taken off to frighten people, (it's what the men around would have done as boys,) just hope the little boy will be the same LOL.

Shoe layer card

Hi Everyone, a VERY quick post as my SIL is nagging me to post, lots of reasons why I haven't been a good blogger, sorry, hope to put it right soon.

Anyhow, here is a card I did for my nephew's wife, she is a shoeaholic, thought she wouldn't have a pair like this LOL.  It's a digi from Papergarden.  The yellow digi spot paper is by Aimee Harrison, the daisy frame is by Fam_bjork. The embossed floral layer is by Cart-us, I used an old piece of card for it, and it cracked, I liked the effect so used it. Oh! yes the shoes were coloured in PS.

Told you it would be a quick one, hope to see you soon.

Football card

Hi Everyone, sorry I've not been blogging or commenting, we are still decorating, just one more room to go and then all the house will be done whew!  Just as well we haven't got a mansion LOL.  Being older slows things down too, we have found.

Just popped in with a quick post to show I haven't been slacking.  Here's a card I did in a rush, I was asked as I was leaving work if I could do a card by the morning and I had quite specific instructions, it had to be a footballer, the Swansea football team, the USA and Wales.  I included their new kit and the boy was thrilled as it was his birthday present, what luck.

Here it is in 2 formats, one from PS as I did it before printing, and after, with all the layers and decoupaged Kenny K footballer too.  I copied the Swans emblem and made a paper for it and also made the football paper too in PS. Got flags from the web and used them too. I "warped" the kit to fit the image.

Hope you are all well and enjoying this summer?
