Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I'm still trying to combat my fear of CAS cards. Should I have added the gems & flower die? Anyhow, I love the sentiment, and it needed a simple card.

I die cut the centre layers after printing out the sentiment, I underlined the "ONE" it needed something else. I tried the piece of ready embossed card on my desk, thought it worked, so die cut it to size. I should have stopped then? Nope I didn't, I looked through my dies and found the corner floral and die cut it out of matching plain card, it was embossed and then added DO's to the raised embossing. Gems to finish. Trouble is, I don't know when to finish CAS.

centre frame die - Dovecraft
background die - Sue Wilson Noble Square
spotted paper - Craft Sensations
embossing folder - Crafters Companion

ink - Distress Oxide - lucky clover, faded jeans

Yes! I am still AWOL. I have been glued to the TV for the past week, not wanting to miss a piece of history being made.

HM The Queen

A post I have to do, with reverence to Her Majesty The Queen. I cannot go without publicly proclaiming my sadness at our loss.

Whose duty to her Country and the Commonwealth and people she met in her long life and 70 years on the throne, was admired by many.

I hope she is now with her beloved husband Philip, and others in her family she loved.

God Bless Queen Elizabeth 11

Song Title TMR

Hi Everyone, my post for today is for
I had a few choices in my head as to the title of a song, but this kept coming back to me, so here it is. Hubby guessed straight away, so I should think you would too?

I have had this wonderful image since 2011. I've used him twice before here. I cut him out with my cameo 3 times, just like a die cut, then coloured him with DI's, layered him up and then added 3D glaze to the puddle and his specs, the umbrella handle and frame, were painted with a silver glitter pen.

I wasn't sure what to do for the background but, when looking for rain in my files, I saw there was a group of drops, adding quite a few to the piece to be printed and cut, thinking I will add the drops individually! After cutting them out, I decided to use the cut-out as a stencil. Yep! I decided I wasn't that patient!

sentiment - mine, computer generated
inks - DI's tumbled glass, faded jeans, candied apple, chipped sapphire, mowed lawn, squeezed lemon, dried marigold
silver glitter pen - Uniball

this is the cut showing the raindrops

here you can see the tiny cut-outs, nope! not for me, so a stencil it became.

You must have guessed the song title it's
"Singing in the Rain"

Radio Birthday

Hi Everyone, sorry I've been AWOL. A couple of weeks ago I was out watering the pots on the edge of the lawn, hubby called, I turned and was closer to the edge of the step than I thought. Over I go onto the concrete. It was a bad fall and may have broken one or two ribs. I also pulled my lower leg muscle and my poor knees had a bad time too, also my left breast it really has been an ouch time. I didn't attend A&E as I was convinced it was just a bruised muscle, but the pain became worse last week and I had to attend A&E. I was told it was probably broken or fractured rib/s, but an X-Ray was not required, as there was no treatment even if it/they were broken and to just keep taking painkillers, although I was given stronger ones to help me sleep.

Anyhow, that's my reason for not visiting, although I did manage a little time on some days and tried to comment on some blogs, those I didn't I apologise.

Now onto why you are here, my card. I made it before my fall and can't remember why I did it? Maybe a challenge or something? I had this radio digital stamp a long while and used it for this card. I followed a sketch, used my Cameo to cut out 2 layers of the Radio and then coloured it with inks. Using clear powder to heat embossed it, although I don't think you can see the shine in the photo. I had a vintage paper pad and die cut pieces to make the sketch. I took a Kraft scalloped ready card and splattered it with gold ink, added the radio with 3D pads and the sentiment I also made and cut with the Cameo and also heat embossed all over. Quite simple really.

Cottage QKR

Hi Everyone, my card today is one of 2 DT cards this one is for

We will select two winners each of the weeks

 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I've had this lovely Cottage a while and I have, at last, used it. It's so pretty and reminds me of places in England we have visited. I am in a CAS mode or at least trying to be. I used a sketch to help me and adapted it a bit for my use. The  cottage was printed, including the sentiment and shape, with 2 layers of the cottage and were cut with my Cameo. (I really do not like fussy cutting). I coloured the Cottage with DI's and added a shaded base for it onto the shape. I added the shape to the die cut Kraft card, placed and adhered the Cottage on top of the grounding and stamped some birds in the "sky".

Wise Owl CC

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter as the main focus
Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I had this wonderful owl die from my magazine subscription and decided to do a simple card with him. He was cut out from Kraft card and inked and shaded on his chest and around the edges and to show a little of the embossing in the die. I then added the frame die supplied with him. I added an inked piece of paper behind his eyes, I found the white made him scary. I added alcohol maker to the black of his eye and to his nose then added a white gel pen to highlight the eye.

I needed something for him to sit on, so went into my Cameo and cut a branch for him, I added the individual leaves, but forgot to shade it all!!! duh!

I used a die cut as a stencil for the background, using the top of the card which was above the branch. The sentiment was included in the die pack, so stamped it out onto a simple white card and placed it onto the card.

I love how textured the owl is and how I can open up the tiny features. To keep those feathers and feet up, I added him to the background card with 3D pads.
