Housework card

Hi Everyone, I have the card I made for my hubby's birthday, I had better explain my reasoning for putting this together.

When I starting working weekends years ago, I asked him to peel the veg and put the meat into the oven, for the Sunday roast. I would do the rest when I got home. However, he did something so VERY wrong, (for him) he had dinner ready for me when I got in from work AND it it was lovely, even though he hadn't done it before, in our 30 year marriage.  I had better add he was unable to work due to his ill health and felt guilty that I was working and he wasn't.

Roll on another 20 years and he still does 90% of the cooking, and has progressed to housework and washing and ironing, as well as the garden and other masculine jobs! he does it SO VERY much better than me. I'm not ALL bad, I help now I'm retired LOL.

Anyhow, this is the card. I laid it all out in PS then layered it onto navy card. Create with TLC had everything I needed to put the image and sentiment together. I also used the iron paper from TLC, the other papers are from Numb Bumm, who no longer has a blog.

Chinese girl

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my Niece who is living in China, as post isn't too good to there, I have added their birthday cards to their FB page, this is for her today.

I coloured "Sweetie Sonia" by Art by Miran with SN markers and added her to DP's 6,7,8 "On the Orient" by Tracy Wray at the FB page of Art by Miran. I followed the TSB sketch adding the sentiment included in the Digi kit.

Sympathy post

HI Everyone, I had sad news recently of my first cousin who lived in Florida, she was one of the GI brides, she had been suffering with Alzheimer's Disease and had been looked after with love and real caring by her wonderful husband.

I have another 3 cousins (her brother, sister and half sister) and their families (most of whom sadly we don't know) Stateside, in Florida, Ohio and Virginia, 2 who are now in their 80's, the younger we had in the UK last year. It was so sad to speak to the elder ones, knowing we will probably not see them again and both not in the best of health.

Anyhow on to my card for them. I sent each of them Husband and Cousins the same card, but different inside. I kept it with simple layering for the post.

I coloured and paper pieced the image in PS, cut out with a die and layered onto black paper. I embossed with a wall embossing folder to carry on the wall in the image.

I thought it, an image with a British post box, would be apt for them all.

007 18th birthday

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. I had already decided what image I wanted to use, so elongated the sketch to make it fit. I thought as the image looked like 007 I should make it red, white and blue and with the Queen's birthday celebrations this year, thought it all tied in with celebrations. It will make my Great Nephew (who it's for) think of the UK, as they live in Belgium.

It has all been laid out in PS and printed out. The centre strip is a wave, the "buttons" were made in PS with the Union Jack and a PS Action giving it a gold edge and 3D'd and 3D gloss. I folded white card and added silver pen "stitches" to it, to give the impression of  sleeve cuff with cuff links, I also lifted the corner. I told you I think strangely LOL.  I laid the image onto holographic card and cut with a deckle edge scissors. then added the age and sentiment.

White on White

Hi Everyone, I recently saw a Tim Holtz instructions on "false embossing" and so this card was born.

The card was cut with a die and sticky paper laid on the back, I added fine glitter. I'm not sure about the white on white, and feel I should colour the roses, but I resisted. In fact not sure about the card as a whole. Maybe one of those that I attempted and will bin! I added 4 layers of the sentiment, then placed it into the die cut hole in the card, to stand out, and added some crystal netting ribbon I bought, CHEAP, at Christmas.

Penguin card

Hi Everyone, a real quick post today. My card today is for the Scrapbook.com Challenge with a Penguin theme and here is mine.

The image was coloured in PS, I added an embossed layer and DP's laid out in PS and printed to make the sketch shape. Simple. So simple I forgot the bling! I have now added 2 red gems following the sketch.

Yellow and green

Hi Everyone, this is for the Scrapbook.com challenge with an inspiration photo, this is my interpretation.

I laid everything out in PS, used print and cut on the Cameo, added ribbon to the card, placed the circles onto the card and 3D'd the flower. I went around the edge with a dark green marker. I added 3D gloss to the centre of the flowers and the berries.

I've done a few clean and simple cards lately I really like the CAS sketches to follow, I wouldn't be able to make one otherwise. Thanks to all the designers of sketches, you make my makes simpler for me!

25th Anniversary

Hi Everyone, I slipped in another post today as I had forgotten the Outlawz sketch challenge, this is my card for our Godson and his wife. I started out with something completely different and this happened.

I used a PS shape to make a a centre piece for the 25 years, saved it to the Cameo and cut out the shape and an extra 25 out of holographic silver card, which picked up the reflection of the evening sky. I added some black and silver flocked paper I have had for years. placing it on vellum Congratulations paper again I've also had for years.

Following the sketch, after embossing the border hearts, I cut them out and, with a happy accident, the hearts on the centre were sized to add embossing to them from the same folder as the top border. They are 3D'd.

I added an embossed sentiment and ribbons to match the sketch. Hope you like it.

Mother card

Hi Everyone, I hope I didn't disappoint too many of you with the ending of my story, but hope you had a good laugh, which was the intention.

On to today's card.  This is the card I did for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge, this month. We've been given a beautiful image by Andrea Norris to play with.

The first thing I did was search for a sketch, then the embossing, colour in the image with my limited colours of Promarkers, layer and add ribbon, place onto card. I'm quite pleased with it, although I really have to practice colouring with my markers. I think I was supposed to colour all as flowers, but I added green for leaves at the bottom. Uploading the sketch I realised I did it in reverse, LOL. It was supposed to be the centre panel, not the outside, oh! well it turned out OK.

A Scary story, but NOT Halloween!

If you haven't read the full story go HERE to read the start - don't spoil it by reading this first! You'll want to know why they were afraid.

continued from the last paragraph.

She was shocked to see it still there, it was different to what they had seen, but it WAS there, she ran to the kitchen and called her husband to tell him they hadn't imagined it!

The FINALE

As she was dragging him out into the garden he was saying "NO! it isn't true, there couldn't be anything there, it was a sleight of light nothing else". She kept hold of him as they went into the garden to see what she saw. His face was a sight to behold.

This time she was able to take the photo, so that, at least, they had some sort of proof of what had happened, before it was able to move across the sky, hopefully sooner rather than later, away from them.

THE END

scroll down to see what had them wondering!

Hope you enjoyed your visit.

CAS Thank you

Hi Everyone, I expect you are wondering what happened from yesterdays story, you will have to wait until later today 1500 BST. Hope you can wait!

I seem to be doing a few CAS of late and this is another one. I followed the challenge sketch from Scrapbooking.com.

I laid all the shapes out in PS, saves SO much paper, printed them, embossed them and added mini die cut flowers that I had recently, which were freebies, pay postage only (piccie below.) their choice of dies. I added Crystal Drops to the flowers. Card done.

A nice change to do quick cards sometimes, instead of the hours I usually make them.

A Scary story, but NOT Halloween!

Hi everyone, I have a story for you today -

It hung in the air.

There was no moon brightness, it was the “dark of the moon” the period before the new moon appears. It was a very dark night, the only lightness in the sky was in the white fluffy clouds, there was no wind, an occasional bird sound, otherwise it was eerily quiet and the couple were going to bed. He looked out of the window, the last check of the night around and into the garden.

What is that?  “The full moon” is in the wrong place! But there wasn't a moon, the object was opposite from where the moon always appeared in the sky. The clouds were moving, but the image was still and below the cloud layer.

They went outside into the cold, near to freezing night to investigate.

Was this a UFO, how could it be, they were being silly? It was fluorescent white, but not bright. She tried to take a photograph of it, but it was far away, not in the garden, she couldn't adjust the camera to take the photo in the night, she always used it on automatic, why didn't she read the instruction manual? she had always adjusted her old camera.

It just hung in the air.

With trepidation they watched to see if there were any lights on it or around it, was there any movement, they watched awhile, nothing changed.

They decided, as there was nothing they could do about it, to go to bed and see if anyone in the locality saw it in the morning. What was this thing hanging in the sky, what did it mean? Were they the only ones who had seen it, was it a message of some kind? They hoped others had seen it, would everyone think they were mad when they told them about it?

After what was an unusual occurrence to their usual late night routine, they had a good night’s sleep. Things were back to normal in the morning, they got into their usual routine where she showered and changed first, while he got his toast and tea, they had forgotten about the strange “UFO”. As she was drying her hair she remembered and looked out of the window to see if anything was different in their area, was anyone else checking to see if the image they had seen was still there, as impossible as she thought it would be.

She was shocked to see it still there, it was different to what they had seen, but it WAS there, she ran to the kitchen and called her husband to tell him they hadn't imagined it!

Visit tomorrow to see what happened.

Sunshiny Card

Hi Everyone, I have a sunshiny card for you today. It all started when I saw the freebie sentiment of the day from Create with TLC, I knew exactly what I was going to do.

I coloured the beautiful sentiment in PS and added gold shimmer pen to it after printing it out on DP. I added a sunray DP to the "Ewe",  well - she represents my sunshine! you must know how I think by now LOL.  I fussy cut the Ewe and 3D'd her and added the gold shimmer pen to a few places on her. Layered them all on yellow card.

Peacock card.

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz sketch challenge. This sketch has lots of layers and what do I do? lots of patterned paper or a mixture of etc etc etc. My choices were huge, it opened my mind so much, I seriously didn't know how to put it together.

In the end, I used a recent freebie of the day from Create with TLC as I have lots of Peacock linked images and dp's, so it wasn't hard to use the image, just what I put with it, plain or patterned? I went searching my files and decided to make it as flamboyant as the  peacock itself. I coloured the Peacock and added a gradient filter to the tail, then laid all the patterned dp's in PS, printed and layered all the papers. I added some die cut flowers that I coloured with my SN markers and a couple of gems.

Anyhow this is it.

A face

Hi everyone the card I have for you today it is a face, "Aurora- Just face" it's the News letter freebie from The Eastwind, I coloured her in SN markers and added a beret to the "other half" of her face. I am not good at choosing colours so went with what I felt like.

However when it came to finding matching paper and considering I have thousands of digi papers, I thought it would take me hours, however luck was on my side and it only took me about 15 minutes to find similar colours whew! I am pleased with the card as a whole and the CAS style and I know it will be just right for a friend, who is having a few problems just now.

Hi Everyone, a quick post today and another family birthday card, I chose a "cluster" and added the photo of SIL in PS, I then printed and cut on the Cameo. I added a leaf die behind it and a corner die, embossed a card layer to add to the main card. A banner with her age and sentiment and I am pleased with it. Hope she will like it.

Different car birthday

Hi Everyone, I have another car birthday card today, I saw it in my files and had to make it for another of my male birthday cards I needed recently, this was for a 23 year old, so I needed it slightly younger. I print and cut the image on the Cameo, added a personalised number plate with his initials and age. Layered onto brown car, which I also used to cut the sentiment. Such a happy card had to have a happy sentiment inside :) I saw it on the web and thought it wonderful and just right for this character.

Dance couple

Hi Everyone, my offering for you today is of an image by Create with TLC that I haven't used for a long time in fact it's HERE in 2012. I loved it then and now. Anyhow on to my card.

The Sketch Challenge at the Outlawz calls for an oval shape, so a file search and found this elegant couple and sentiment by Create with TLC I had already done it B&W, now what colours was I to use, luckily to make it easier for me, I had seen on Jackie's blog that there were free digi papers HERE, well I can't turn down freebies so off I went and saw these, they were so pretty I had to use them. cor! I don't 'arlf go on don't I? all this rambling.

To cut a long story short, I enlarged the image so that the dress was over the edge of the frame. I paper pieced the dress and coloured the one couple of the digi, added it to an oval shape in PS and coloured the background,  The scallop border, which I also made and paper pieced were sent to the Cameo and print and cut with an extra layer for the couple.

I layered the background papers and added the other layers adding dimensionals to the couple, added the bow with a sentiment on top and then used silver gel glitter pens to the dress. (I LOVE the pens).
I'm not too happy with the colour of the papers in the photos, they should be more turquoise, but it was the light at the time I took them - drat! The card is so pretty in real life.

DSC April Fantasy

It's time for the Monthly challenge at

the Theme is

The DT were given images to play with and we have had the most wonderful images. These were a real joy to colour digitally and produce pages that I am absolutely thrilled with.

To colour Dark Fae I used the brush tool and the mixer tool in PS I am thrilled with the skin this time, as I have trouble with skin colouring. Once I had coloured her and I don't know how these colours came to be, I had to find something that would enhance this fab image I went searching in my files and came across this beautiful page. I thought she needed a castle and luckily found I had one, a bit of blending mode and it was blended into the background. The sentiment was found on the web and I decided to add a book to match the sentiment.

Background digi paper Jilbert freebie at Digital Scrapbooking Studio
Border dedesmith_moonlitdreamz blog hop freebie at DSS
Castle Disney Clipart (2010)
Book Snickerdoodles
Sentiment - web
I decided to colour 2 extra as I loved them so much.

The Stardust fantasy fairy I added to a background by sweetbananadreams at Deviant Art, which I made smaller to make the fairy look larger, I coloured her in PS and added a sentiment and a few blending options to add light and PS brushes for fairy dust.
The "silvertrace dragon baby in egg" was also coloured in PS, he had to be a red dragon, after all I'm Welsh LOL the background is gradient effect clouds, I used grass PS brushes.
