Another Lily

Hi Everyone, another card I made while my 'puter was poorly.

I used the Lily die by Sheena Douglas. This time I used water colour pencils to colour it and added it to the Scruffy Little Cat embossing folder background, I then added random "pearls" with my Perlen Pen.  I added strip of the background card to the front and curled a very fine strip of the card to go behind the flower. Another CAS card I suppose.

Window Blinds

Hi Everyone and also to my lovely new followers, I hope to keep you entertained with something different every few days.

Today I certainly have something different. I hope you won't be offended.

I needed a birthday card for a friend of 51 years, we have always had a great laugh the 4 of us, so usually send him a humorous birthday card. This year was no exception. I am a member of the Card making and Papercrafts with the Silhouette on Facebook where Marie Papadopoulou made a silhouette behind some window blinds, then a few others did something else with the blinds and then I saw this by Julie, well here is my interpretation on the theme, the image is from a font.

I cut the blinds out of shiny black card with the image in matt black card, I added the background I had played with in PS and printed it out. The sentiment is one I saw on the web and it seemed to suit the image and our friend LOL. He is 74! I'm glad to say he laughed his head off.

Birthday card

Hi everyone, I had a FB post from my niece in China, they had gone out for a meal and she was enjoying it when she noticed "something" in her bowl.

Anyhow on to my post and what you are here for.

I had a birthday card to make for one of my Great Niece's and I came across a sketch that I really like, so the design is of this sketch, I haven't entered a challenge for a while, so this one is for the Try Stamping or Not - on a Tuesday!

The image is a digi by coloring book pages. Isn't she lovely? The DP's and elements are by Dawn by Design, (The inside alpha is also from the kit.)  I paper pieced, coloured and added embossed "eleven" to the banner in PS . I added some Magic glitter to the gold spot border. The inside alpha is also from the kit.

Lazy Days

Hi Everyone, my DT post today is for Deedee's Digis who is sponsoring a challenge at Crafty Girlz the theme is Anything Goes with the Twist of Lazy Days.

Deedee has a few images I could have used for this challenge, but decided to go with this piggy 'cause he's enjoying his Lazy Day and also the perfect sentiment for him too. I used the ready coloured image this time and in PS I made a frame adding a DP and the sentiment, then added another DP to surround it. I made a palm tree and coconuts out of PS shapes, I printed it all, making 2 copies for the tree and the pig, I 3D'd the 2nd layers, adding 3D gloss to his eyes and trotters and sparkle to his drink, then added sparkle to the wave shapes too. I wouldn't mind sitting with him under the palm trees.

Basket of flowers

Hi Everyone, Deedee's Digis has a Digi of the Month challenge and today we have a reminder post that you can still enter this months challenge.

My offering is another basket from the free kit offered, the Seasonal Basket kit, the flowers are from the Grown with Love kit. Basket & Flowers coloured in PS. I followed the colours in teh background DP. It just goes to show, how different the effect can be, when using different kits and colouring the outline images in them, or if you don't have time there are ready coloured images included. The sentiment is also in the kit.

Watercolour rose

HI everyone, while my 'puter was being naughty, I told you I made a few cards without it, here is another one.

I used water colour pencils on the rose after stamping it. Yes! a wooden block stamp, I think it is Docrafts. The papers were from a magazine, I've had them a long time. I used a sketch design that I have used before, I can't find it, but I think it's from Mojo on Monday, I used a Martha Stewart punch between the layers and added a ribbon and gems. I used Tonic circle dies to cut the rose and red card layer.

Friendship Day

I was challenged by a bloggie friend to join in with the Friendship Day which was on August 2nd. I had told her I was lacking in mojo, she said well you can make a card for a friend and send it to her. I'm up for a challenge, so here's what I made Kathy.

I had tried to colour this image (and others) in with new colouring markers, but failed miserably, so I sent them back and have decided to stick to my digi colouring, yes it restricts me in certain challenges, however I am happy doing it this way and at my age happy is good :)

The image Wishful Asha is free from Make it Crafty with this months challenge at the Outlawz Progressive Challenge, also Scrapbook.com has a card challenge with Friendship as the theme, so this is suitable for both. I used a dandelion background to simulate the seeds blowing around and used a Photoshop swirly mask behind the image and the sentiment, to make it seem like they were blowing around as well. I used Xcut round dies to cut out the sentiment and image and 3D'd them over the PS mask. A CAS card I suppose, but I didn't think it needed anything else and the image is so pretty. I followed the Design Seed colour sample.

Opportunity

Hi Everyone, a DT post for Deedee's Digis, Deedee is sponsoring a challenge at Crafty Girlz where there is a Path of Positivity Challenge with the theme of Opportunity this month. My take on the challenge is this card, I absolutely LOVE this giraffe, taking the opportunity to have some fun I thought and that's how this card came to be.

However one of the sentiments also in this fabulous fun kit was "Go Wild" it all came together so quickly. I decided on a CAS card because I didn't think the giraffe needed anything, I printed him and cut it out on my Cameo, no worry with cutting those rings out and breaking one of them, yippee! I added 3D gloss to the rings and his eyes, also cut some grass by Birds Cards cut the sentiment with an Xcut die 3D'd the giraffe and layered his legs through the grass. - voila! I will have to have a go with the other animals soon they crease me up.

Lily die

Hi Everyone, I bought this Sheena Douglas Lily die a little while ago in the Cardiff Craft Show, I didn't know what I was going to do with it, you know what it's like, the "gotta have it" thingy! I was fascinated by the effects they were doing at the show with the dies. I haven't got a great deal of "stuff" to play with, but I did have some metallic rub ons I have had for more years than I care to remember and have hardly used them. This seemed the ideal thing to try them out on, so I embossed some black card, cut out the dies from the same card and let myself go with the metallic effects. I used different colours on the flower and then added a couple of different ones on the embossing. I am thrilled with the effect. I haven't added a sentiment, not sure yet what it will be.

Wedding card

Hi Everyone, when I made this wedding card I had no idea what I was going to do, I had my favourite Tattered Lace embossing folder, to which I added a ribbon, but didn't know what else to do, so I designed a Mr & Mrs heart for my Cameo. I used a large embossing tool to shape the solid heart inside the cut heart and added a gem to accent it, added Tattered Lace dies, made roses from a Brittania die out of the DP I added to the background of the heart, to match the inside of the card. I also added sparkle to the roses, but I'm afraid it doesn't show up.

Bride & Groom

Hi Everyone, while I was having problems with my 'puter, I decided to try my hand at making cards without it. Oh! boy was that hard!!!! This is one I made. It's an old Docrafts stamp, I have had for many years, when I thought I could enjoy stamping. I even coloured it in watercolour pencils, which turned out OK, seeing as the paper wasn't made for them. perhaps it was OK, because I didn't use much water. Anyhow, I am quite pleased with it, I made a couple of others too, which turned out OK, I'll  blog them as and when, but I am glad I have my 'puter back. I cut the layers with my Tonic rectangle dies.

Christmas basket

Hi Everyone, a DT post for Deedee today and a reminder that you can get a free digi kit if you enter the challenge at Deedee's Digis Digi of the Month, follow the link - gotta be worth a go ay?

Anyhow, here's my version of the Christmas basket, you have 4 Seasons to choose from and a basket on it's own to put in whatever you want. I used the Outline image, but there are ready coloured images in the kit and sentiments too, a great kit to work with. I paper pieced the parcel, the bow and the napkins in PS, then coloured the rest digitally. After printing out, I glittered and 3D'd onto the card adding punched stars, with embossing I had already had on the card I used. Adding the sentiment which is also in the kit, amongst others.

Thank you card

Hi Everyone, I have a thank you card for you today, a work colleague asked me to make a card for her neighbour who she likened to "Neighbourhood Watch", she had given them her keys and they kept an eye on her dogs and her house while she was in work, no one could approach without them knowing. She asked if I could do something, as they were like Columbo and Miss Marple. This is what I came up with, I had to include her 2 Yorkie dogs didn't I?

The Detectives are coloured in PS and I paper pieced their coats in PS with camouflage DP, (I changed the saturation for the man.) The path is DP which I changed the perspective of, printed it all out with the Detectives twice. 3D'd the images, added a tag with twine, layered onto matching card. Added 3D gloss to the binoculars and the magnifying glass.

Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, you know I rarely do Scrapbook pages, but thought this warranted a go at one. We had a small family reunion, it was such a shame more couldn't have come, but they are getting older and are from all over the country. My Cousin had come from the US with her sons, to meet some cousins she hadn't met before or for many years. I hadn't seen her for 22 years, it really was a wonderful occasion and it seemed I was the only one who knew everyone and had to do the introductions, so funny.

We met in the Cocktail Lounge at an Hotel and then proceeded to the room where we had a meal with photographs set up on the computer and relayed onto the wall for us all to see, with shouts of who's that and someone, more often than not me, it's -

It was great to see old photos of family which some of us hadn't seen before. There was even one that I knew of, my Grandfather's Grandmother at age 94 in her Victorian bonnet and long skirts. We weren't sure which one, but thought it the Barwick one, as that is all it said on the photo. A lesson for us all I suppose and something I should do at sometime before it's too late, funny thing is, I wrote on the small photo years ago. Anyhow here is the page I did, should I do more with it?

Sunday morning in Saint David's Pembrokeshire

Hi Everyone, just a piccie post today for you.  Hubby has been wanting to go to St David's in Pembrokeshire for a while, we haven't been for years, so on a beautiful day a few weeks ago we decided to go. Just an hour and a half and we were met with the most glorious colour sea I have seen in the UK for a long long while, just stunning.

St Davids is on the old Christian pilgrimage journey, it was supposed to be that you had to try and visit it 3 times in your life. Well I think we have done a few more than that, luckily we are not too far from it. Coming forward into History from the foundation of the Cathedral. The son of Owen Tudor (the Grandfather of Henry V11) Jasper, spent a lot of time at Pembrokeshire Castle and I should think he spent some time at St Davids too. Well I want to think so.

Anyhow, here's some piccies I took, nothing special, but I hope you like them.
This was what met us as we went over the hill to Newgale on the way to St Davids

50th Anniversary No 2

Hi Everyone, I told you I had made 2 50th Anniversary cards, well here is the second, it was made to be from my friend. She didn't care what I did, so this is what I came up with.

I chose a "cluster" and DP to match, I added 2 hearts to lay underneath the cluster in PS, I layered it onto gloss gold paper, 3D'd the butterfly. Die cut twice and added it to the cut out sentiment. I didn't want it too feminine as it really was for the husband more than the wife as I explained Here I saw this quote on line and thought it suitable for this occasion.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Hello Everyone. I have a 50th Anniversary card for you today one of 2 I was asked to make for a friend, she asked for a picture of a bible with 2 rings and the inscription to love and cherish...... It was a difficult card to do, as the recipients wife has Alzheimer's, but my friend wanted him to know they had remembered. I felt a simple card would be best so here it is.

I searched the web for free of copyright images but couldn't find one, so came up with second best and took my own photo, with my Grandfather's Bible (could be Great Grandparents with the date printed as 1838), mine and hubby's rings and roses from the garden, I also added gold numbers in PS.

Another picture (one of many) I made into a background for the image in Photoshop. I added layers with dull gold card and card matching the colour of the roses, adding a ribbon to match.

The Bible is battered on the outside, but, as it was a 50th Anniversary I thought it suitable. I'm glad to say the recipient was pleased with it.
