 Hi Everyone here I am with my first DT card for today, it's for the new challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

My card today came together quite quickly, you know, when an image you see and words come into your head, it happened on this one, simple I know, but I actually love how this card came about. 

It was finding wood paper and a flame in my files, which thankfully I had, adding an oval shape for the sentiment and space for the matches, then printing the paper out after I had added the large flame image to it in Photoshop. I added another of the flame image to Silhouette and print and cut it out 4 times after making it smaller of course. I layered it off each layer to simulate a flame moving.

I then added the matches image to Silhouette, printed the image out, then added a gold foil frame to it with the WRMK Foil Quill pen. I coloured it with Distress inks and 3D layered it onto the card. I also added some clear sparkle pen to the flame.

Used up piece!

Hi Everyone, back to my post about foiling HERE where I said I could use the centre cut bit! Well here is the card with that bit and I think it's worked out well, you will be my critics?

I used my old Whisper inks and did a second stamp with Versamark then

 clear embossed to get the colour somewhere near the paper.

these are photos of a spider we noticed the other night INSIDE the screen, we have had the TV a few years, so how he got inside goodness knows, I just hope the spun web doesn't deteriorate our picture!

Foiling - lessons learned!

Hi Everyone, I haven't bought anything expensive crafty for a long while, in fact I am on a crusade NOT to buy anything, as I have so much unused. BUT, when I saw the We R Quill foiling kit for my Silhouette Cameo, and it was on special offer - well! I HAD to have it. I used it a couple of hours after I received it, other things prevented me from using it before - drat! LOL.

This is the result of my first attempt, I used the thickest pen - 4 lessons learned.

1. DON'T measure it on your sticky cutting mat, the foil comes off and doesn't come off the mat, thankfully it is a well used one.
2. Always ensure you have a "sticky" tape, making sure you have the foil fully stuck down, if the tape comes off, you don't get good adhesion of the foil and pen to paper/card. 
3. Don't go cheap - I used the purple masking tape not the WR one included in the kit! After watching a couple of Youtube videos, most use washi tape.
4. You CAN cut the foil in place, it cut beautifully as you can see. If it had done the sentiment properly I could have used it as a topper maybe?

This is the completed card AFTER I had redone the centre and layered it. I was going to border everything in rose gold card, then realised I haven't got any. I think it's OK as it is though?
