Daffodil birthday & garden

Hello everyone, what a week we have had, no I'll correct that, what weeks we have had, just 2 days dry in the last 2 weeks, it's been rain and more rain, it seems for months. I wonder if we will have a dry summer? Look out, you have been warned quite a few photos to follow.

The garden it is sodden, even just stepping on it feels like a bog. As for the lawn, I think we will have to scythe it to begin with, it's so high. Now's your time to flick to my card 😉

It's not even March, and we have wonderful bright and sunny daffodils in the front garden, with lots of other blooms too. I am posting a daffodil card! I have a friend who has been through a lot with her husband being ill, so I thought a sunny card is needed for her birthday.

Anyhow, I had the daffodil wreath in my files, I print and cut it out twice with my silhouette, glued it together and attached it to the base card. Next I stamped and die cut a sentiment. The main daffodils and leaves were then die cut, out of coloured card, and attached to the wreath.

Romance mid month WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see Romance.

Who has trouble making a Romance card? Me! I actually made 7, and they all ended up in the bin. I had this vision of a rabbit amongst leaves and flowers, so I stamped and cut a mask, took the mask off after stamping and it was a mess! I redid it, nope another in the bin.

Then I tried again, forgetting what was in my mind, turned out OK, then I dropped ink on the rabbit! Another in the bin, I tried again. I made a mess of fussy cutting.

I decided maybe it was the rabbit stamp that didn't want to be used. Next a different rabbit was stamped and die cut 3 times, all failures. I was on the point of giving up again, I decided to try one more time, then it turned out OK. I could carry on.

I stamped and die cut the sentiment, dragging the ink to colour the hearts. Then a heart was die cut, and although I wanted CAS, I felt it needed more, so I die cut a flower stem and left it white. All put together and attached to the card with 3D pads, then a small pompom was added, well, I had to. Whew, 4 hours later!

I had planned to do so much more, such as comments to catch up on, more DT cards. Oh! Well, here's the card.

Guest Spot -Allsorts Challenge

I am thrilled to have been asked to do a Guest Spot for the

The theme is Hearts, I had this heart die in my subscription magazine a few months ago, I hadn't used it before, but it was the perfect occasion to use it. I cut it out of red textured card.

I had cut 3 layers of 300gsm card with hearts along while ago, cut out on my Silhouette, and had glued them together, I used it to emboss a square of white card. This is the cut-out I embossed with.

I cut a square red layer and layered the embossed hearts layer onto it. The die cut was attached to the embossed layer. Next I stamped a sentiment and layered it onto more of the red card, it was attached with 3D pads to the card. It's quite a deep emboss, but can't be seen on the main card.

Heart box TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

My heart is the little basket, that I cut with my Silhouette and glued together. The image is a digital stamp, that I cut in 3 layers, also cut with the Silhouette. I coloured the image with markers, and attached the glued layers to the basket. It was a quick make, as I used it to give a few choccies to a neighbour's grandson, because she wouldn't accept anything for a cake she baked, and brought over for us, just because she likes to bake. I forgot to take a photo of the box filled, I added tissue paper and the choccies. He was as pleased as I was with the cake :)

Romance WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month we would love to see Romance.

My card today has a heart on it, but I think I could use it for a few occasions. I stamped the heart and embossed in gold, I then stamped and embossed the sentiment. I thought it too plain, so embossed a piece of white card, then swiped a white ink pad over the embossing and heat embossed with clear glitter powder. It doesn't show, but it does have a gentle glitter effect. The heart was cut out when embossing, the stamped heart was placed behind the heart opening and attached to the card. It's a CAS card with lots of texture.

Penguin birthday CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

My Great Niece has a birthday this month, so I made this for her. I designed it in my Silhouette program, then cut out the main sentiment layer once, the adorable penguin was cut out three times, and the sentiment and scarf twice.

I then ripped some paper and using it as a mask, inked a snow base for the penguin, with DO's. The penguin was layered on top with the sentiment as if he was holding it? That's what I hoped.

I penned around the main layer, a little slip, meant I had to add more ink around the corners. I think I can get away with it. I then added glaze to the penguin's nose and eyes and sparkle pen to the scarf.
