Baby Boy TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

I haven't made a baby card in a couple of years, and was thrilled to make one. I had a couple of stamps, but went to a colouring page by someone I have been a follower of for years. I just love her images, and I had a choice in my files, but decided to go with this cutie. Also, we have a local singer comedian named Max Boyce, and he got the crowds going by saying oggie oggie oggie. This image has a similar saying? So I had to go with it.

I print and cut the image with Silhouette on watercolour paper. Then coloured it with Distress Inks. I had a design in mind with a heart, but it didn't work out, so I print and cut a heart with the "oogie oogie" on it, again with Silhouette. I had this "It's a Boy" stamp for a long time, so stamped it onto the heart. Next, I layered the 2 layers of the baby and 3D'd it onto the heart. I used a die heart and sentiment and added it with a split pin, don't know when I used one of those last either.

I was going to leave it at that, but for some reason it didn't look right, I die cut some textured card, and ink blended it. Then embossed it with a background I had made with Silhouette an age ago. I cut 3 layers of the hearts and then glued them together. Next, I embossed the layers onto the inked background.  The colour isn't quite right in the photo, but near enough.

Llama birthday CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I have so many animal digi stamps, that I decided to trawl them and came across this wonderful Llama. I printed her and the sentiment, borrowed from the web. Next, I coloured her with markers and decided to extend the image with stencils and add clouds and extra flowers. They didn't look right, so I added some strokes, with a fine black pen, to the stencilling to copy the image.

After I was happy with the image, I die cut it out and added it to the base card. Simple, but I'm pleased, and it will go to a friend.

Reading Bear CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I am trying to use old images etc. Looking through my digital images, I came across this adorable bear, and immediately thought of a bookmark.

I took her into my Silhouette to print and cut her out, I decided to cut one in reverse, so I could do a double sided bookmark, The sentiment was designed and also cut with the Silhouette.

For a change, I used markers to colour her, and she is as bright as she looks. After colouring her, I attached her to both sides of the bookmark and put her through my Laminator, (poor thing rarely gets used.)

Annibearsary CCC

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter as the main focus

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I decided to look through older files and see what I could find, and this fabulous image took my eye. I computer generated, then printed out the sentiment and the bears. A blue outline, with DI's, around the printed bears was added.

The outline of the bears were then printed and cut with my Cameo and I coloured them with DI's and a black marker to enhance the nose and eyes. I attached the bears to the background with 3D pads, glazed the eyes, nose and rose. All were then attached to the red mirror card framing layer, small hearts punched and added out of the same card.

70th foiling

Hi Everyone, my card today is for an old work colleague, she always insists I send her "angel" cards, so for her 70th birthday I chose this image, I thought it so pretty and perfect for her. I print and cut the image and coloured it in DI's, also print and cut the lilac paper with a rounded bottom, maybe I was thinking of our behinds in lockdown ahem! I then added foil for the sentiment. I used a punch again! 😄 for the stars. I also added a foil line around the lilac paper. A little pink card to brighten it and it was done, sounds so simple when I say it like that!

They're promising LOTS of rain for us this weekend, up to 100mm, that's nearly 4 inches, I hope their wrong,  I think it will have to be a crafty day, aw! what a shame hahaha. Keep warm if your covered in snow, dry in the rain and safe from Covid.

Happy New Year Reindeer

 Happy New Year Everyone

Let's pray it's a better one.

I have a New Year card for you today that I thought quite relevant for 2020. I think we are all glad to see the back of it. Here's to 2021, with hopes of everything getting back to normal! I hope you all have had a good Christmas. Thankfully we did and relaxation too. Maybe even a bit too much TV and food. However that's what the new year is for isn't it, to get back into shape?

 Keep safe everyone.

On to why you're here - I love this little reindeer. The sentiment is one hubby has used over the years for different things, so thought it quite apt LOL. I found some long lost gems and added one to his nose, with wobbly eyes. I wanted him as flat as possible for the post. He was coloured and printed off from Photoshop. I added shadows with markers to him and the toilet rolls and a "base" for him too, then added a gold glitter pen to the year and the bells. Not the best of colouring, but he is cute LOL.

Do animals have Christmas?

Hi Everyone, I have been delighted to be asked to make a card to accompany Gill Reeds poem's, so today I am using one artist and one of Gill's poems. I'm happy to show them off, they are written for her and her family's enjoyment. As usual the card is first. I have a LOT of Elizabeth Dulemba images, they always seem to relevant for what I want to do and I should use more of them. very difficult when I'm a digi collector! And now venturing into stamps!

Anyhow, I used images that I felt were associated with the poem, I hope you think so too and Gill of course LOL. I could have used more, but refrained, hahaha

I printed the images onto the card, with the girl printed separately. I then painted them with Distress inks, added glitter and white Posca pen to add a few highlights.  I used a stencil to add stars and used clear glitter embossing powder for them.

I had decided to have the girl as a separate image and I added her with a little piece of card scored and cut to size, for her to sit against. This will go to my GG Niece. (I have photos of her sitting like this.)

Now for Gill Reed poem, I think it could be made into a children's book and illustrated, it's such a wonderful story.

 Do Animals Have Christmas?

“Do animals have Christmas?” Jemima asked one day,

Her Mum and Dad and Grandma, really couldn’t say.

“They need to have a Christmas, with lots of special treats,

I’m going to write to Santa,” – she used up several sheets.

When Santa got the letter, he Ho-ho-hoed like mad,

To fulfil a child’s request, he’d never been so glad.

“The birds must have a Christmas tree,” Jemima’s letter said,

“It must be trimmed with tasty bites, like bacon, seeds and bread.

Duck’s pond is frozen very hard, he looks quite frail and old,

A beak and feather warmer would cheer him up tenfold.

The Fox’s tail is knotted, dull and never clean,

A brush or comb would help, to bring back its lovely sheen.

The squirrel has a problem, she can never find her nuts,

She needs a map to guide her, or perhaps some storage huts.

Woolly socks for Hedgehog, to keep him warm at night

And peanut cake for badger - big enough for lots of bites.

There are lots of little creatures who live outside my door,

All of them may need my help and I hate to ask for more,

But if I could have an insect house, bat box and feeder too,

I stand a chance of making, all their dreams come true.”

On Christmas day Jemima woke, as day had turned from night.

She rushed downstairs and out the door and much to her delight,

Fox and Duck and Squirrel were waiting by her door,

Badger ambled over and lifted up his paw.

Hand and paw together they went to find the tree,

It was the very best of things the friends would ever see.

All the boughs were covered in the finest bird food spread

And underneath the tree were gifts, and tracks of Santa’s sled.

Hedgehog woke up specially, and was first to find his gift,

“This is a glorious morning and should never have been missed.”

Countless birds then drifted in and breakfasted in style,

And all the time Jemima’s face, had the biggest smile.

The animals had fun that day, Jemima had the best,

How much they liked their gifts from her, she never would have guessed.

With bat and insect boxes, feeders bright and new

Jemima knew that Santa, had made their dreams come true.

But just before she had to leave, she saw beneath the tree

Another gift addressed to her, with note, “Please open me.”

There in soft and downy bed a golden acorn lay,

Inscribed for her, “With all our love, and thanks for Christmas Day.”

Christmas Turkey and more!

Hi Everyone, my card today is another Christmas card I had to make, yep! to go with another poem by Gill Reed. Her poems are so funny and just as I had this done she went and sent another! She definitely wants to keep me busy LOL.

Anyhow, here is my card, I had this wonderful digital image in my files which I think is absolutely perfect for this poem. How lucky is that? I coloured the image in Photoshop. I printed the papers and cut the image and sentiment with a die, then painted shadows onto the image with markers. I fussy cut the star and added metallic thread, a never before used item! I came across it looking for something else and decided to add it.

papers - Inspired Designs (2012)
thread - Crafting Threads, The Range
markers - Spectrum Noir
die - Tonic
sentiment - my own
poem - Gill Reed

This is the poem that I just had to accompany with my card.

A TURKEY IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS

We had a turkey for Christmas
It was resplendent to be sure,
It was placed at the head of the table,
Close to the kitchen door.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It was the thing to do,
Tradition in our household,
Has always seen us through.

We had a turkey for Christmas
Mother was in a state,
Making sure it had rested well
Before she would get out its plate.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It’s trimmings were sublime,
I’ve never seen a turkey look,
So good at Christmas time.

We had a turkey for Christmas,
We shared in its delight,
And decided there and then to have it
Once again on Boxing night.

We had a turkey for Christmas
It’s now back on the farm
Because we’re vegetarians,
We just enjoyed its charms.

Music

Hi everyone my DT card today is for

I had so many ideas for this challenge, I contemplated more than one card but I had others I had to do, so decided on this one. I had this image sent to me as a follower, I thought it so clever and fun, so I went with it. I can imagine him in magical colours for a little one.

hula hoop

On Thursday my neighbours, well all 5 of them, looked at me and thought me mad I'm sure, there was me banging my saucepan for all to see and hear, wish more had come out. AND where were the men? I'm so glad it was for ALL Workers during this awful time, without whom we could not survive. Please God keep them safe.

Anyhow, here's my card to give you a smile. I had the image in my inbox as a follower, and had a smile straight away. Looking at it, my thoughts were - everyone? is now trying to exercise in some way and I could imagine a lot of people doing this with their masks on, and achieving something they couldn't do before. I know I have a strange imagination!

1 year old

Hi Everyone, another GNiece has her birthday, this one was the one we were worried about last year who had to have surgery as soon as she was born. Thankfully this little darling is doing well with no lasting effects. She is ONE and this is the card I decided to make for her.
I used this colourway for the bear.

Christmas card in July #2

Hi Everyone, keeping up with the Christmas in July theme, it's doing me good, at least I have started making the dreaded Christmas cards. I decided to do a wobble card. I don't use these colouring book images enough, they are fun and easy LOL.

I also thought I would show you a bird doing what to me is a strange thing?

On to my card.
image - Elizabeth Dulemba colouring pages
coloured in PS CS6, for some reason the yellow is orange and the orange is red in the photo, maybe because it was very heavy cloud when taken?
sentiment - Create with TLC
tree background - Marisa Lerin Pixelscrapper
wobbly eyes - stash
Action Wobble for movement #julyawc
wire glued to star and back of tree to hold star.

Now for the bird a pigeon!
The photos were taken from inside the conservatory, he settled down on top of the box hedge making himself very comfortable and stayed for about half an hour, I've never seen this happen before, they usually stay for a feed and jump at the slightest noise, but nothing seemed to startle him. Then he just flew away. I thought he may be injured at first, but there was no problem with his flying. Maybe it was a female practising nesting?

Wild & Free

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for
https://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

I've done a few "wild" kind of cards in my time, so wanted something a little different, I have so many images and digi stamps that a search was necessary and amongst my files I found this wonderful "wild" rabbit, being "free". I thought he deserved a CAS style card for being "free".  The front of the car is 3D, from the card door to the front, so in real life he looks like he is driving out of the card.

My fellow DT have some very imaginative ideas and work, go see and even join in with our challenge.

Pig Out

Hi Everyone, I made a card for a Nephew in Law, BUT, I lost the card I made, (this one) and had to find one I had already done to get it into the post, 2 days later I moved a magazine and there it was - grrrr! LOL, at least the one he got I liked anyway and it was suitable. However there is always another Nephew in Law or male in the family to send a card, and this will go to - Yep! another nephew (in law) LOL

Baby card

Hi Everyone, my card today was done on a whim, I saw the image and decided to make a card with it, sadly no babies around us at the moment.  I haven't used Elizabeth's Dulemba's images for ages and they deserve a post.

This is another of my scheduled posts, as I can't find a reason for the random non access to the design area of my blog and DT blogs. So when I can access my blog dashboard I keep it open all day, so that any project I may do, I can make a post with it. Anyhow on to my card.

Snowman

Hi Everyone, a Snowman for a change, I sort of remembered a joke I saw somewhere, so decided to add it to the card. I'll try and add a few more Christmas cards, the ones I like - this is one of the Christmas cards I am really pleased with There are plenty I would put into the bin, but haven't time to make them again, they are made OK, just not fussy about them. Perhaps next year I will be better prepared and take my time to make them, instead of rushing AGAIN this year. Famous last words ay? Anyhow here's my card.

which I coloured digitally, fussy cut and  layered.
Background is Hugware. no longer available,
layered onto dark blue card.
Sentiment die is X cut.

Thought I would show you a photo of some clouds I spied from my crafty room the other evening, I thought they looked like "molars". Nope haven't PS'd it.

Happy St David's Day

Hi Everyone, I know that St David's Day isn't until March 1st, but the challenge I made it for, is over before that, so I'm popping this post in because it has a "Twist" asking for a card for St David's Day and as I didn't (at the time) see one entered, I made a digital / hybrid one to enter. It says anything is allowed, I hope my digitally made hybrid will be accepted, but even if it isn't it's a token entry for St David's Day LOL.

I added a scenery background with mountains (I am in Wales after all) then added a blending option to fade it onto a green background, so that the flag colours are represented. The Dragon is a favourite of mine by Elizabeth Dulemba. I coloured him as the Welsh Red Dragon added a shadow, printed it out - voila!
PS. He will be on every post until the 2nd March! Why? 'cause I'm Welsh!
PPS I even have daffodils in the photo (the National Flower of Wales)

Halloween coffin

Hi Everyone, today I thought I would let you see what I am giving the few children we have to our door on Halloween, I cut the coffin shape on my Cameo with a file from Birds Cards so easy and quick. I added a ghosty pumpkin image from Elizabeth Dulemba a kind ghost I thought. I filled them with Halloween sweets. Now I hope I have enough LOL.

Teacher Thank you card

Hi Everyone I know I am a little late! with this kind of post, but I haven't posted a card for a while with an Elizabeth Dulemba image and remembered this one.  It was made for a friend's daughter who was leaving her school.  The card was for her English teacher the butterfly book was a perfect image I thought for this.

Thought I would show the others I had to do too.  She wanted 3 for "Special" teachers.  All had to be yellow and blue, the school colours and had to have the school badge too.  Anyhow here are the others.

Easter rabbit.card

Here's an Easter card I have made with an Elizabeth Dulemba image, I love the expression on the rabbit. I think the rabbit is a she, just look at those eyes :)  Anyhow, I coloured her in PS and paper pieced her blouse and some of the eggs in the basket, I used DP's from ellesdesigns.

I learned something new this week and am I thrilled, oh! you don't realise. I was like a kid in a toy shop. LOL.  Dawn by Design has a tutorial that I followed and have achieved making my own background with "splatter" brushes and an egg shape, hers has a butterfly as an example, but of course once I knew how to do it, I had to try different. I used the PS brushes using colour dynamics, so that there were different colours each time I added the "misty brush" I bought from DBD, (well I had to do it properly didn't I?) as well as the shape dynamics Dawn showed how to use in her tutorial. So all you girls who are struggling with PS, go HERE and learn something "simple" to play with.  I can see me doing more of this.  I used the "brush" only to do the green area, love the effect.  Then to play more I added texture by adding a "cross stitch" effect PS Action from Atomic Cupcake, which I'm not sure is still available. To finish the card, I decoupaged the Rabbit and the basket added glitter to the eggs and the sentiment, oh! yes that is from Summertime Designs, added 3D gloss to her eyes.

maybe? you can see the eggs background clearer here?

I changed the exposure of the closeup so you can see the eggs,
splatter brushes and the cross stitch I added to the background.

About Elizabeth Dulemba, you know I love her images, so thought I would add a link, seeing as I use her images a lot and they are all free and also, you may not know about her.
This is from her latest Newsletter, she has had a couple of children, using her images, enter them into the Gallery, Aw! Bless them.  AND you get a free image with every newsletter.  Go on get the children colouring her images :)
