Cas?

Hi Everyone, my card is a case today from HERE. It's rare I visit Pinterest, but it was the only way to get me going. I thought I would just get an ink pad any colour and go with it. I haven't labeled my ink storage yet, as it happens it was Chipped Sapphire. I grabbed stamps and went for it. Luckily I had a ribbon to match.

The script stamp, I stamped, then moved it twice to get the faded look. I then inked the blossom stamp and the birthday stamp, then over stamped with an embossing pad and clear powder, to clear heat emboss. I used DI's in the same colour to colour the bunches.

I positioned the ribbon and the butterfly, then added 3D tape along the entire back of the stamped piece and placed it onto the ready made card. I then decided to use the left over piece of card I cut the 2 others from and do something a little different, layered it onto navy card from which I also cut the butterflies.

I hope SiL will be happy with them, just to get a few more done for her. Maybe now I've started I can keep it up?

script stamp - Clearly Besotted mag freebie
sentiment - mag freebie
blossom - Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady mag freebie
ink - Distress Oxide
butterflies - Tattered Lace
ribbon - stash
pearls - stash

the white on the navy is central - honest!
I think it misaligned by straightening the photo?

just to let you see my Oxide storage, so tidy and doesn't take up much space either. it's by Lisa Horton, just label them now and a few more to collect?

Hopefully this card is eligible for the Ombre challenge at

Here is a video of a shower of rain on Sunday afternoon. Just something to keep me active - taking a video of rain falling! Well I got out of my crafty chair to take it!

Greetings

Hi Everyone, I'm still in can't be bothered mode, with a few family things going on, however, as a follower of Beccy, I saw her post and had to have the images. They are fun and actually had me enthusiastic to get going, whew! mojo may still be there!

Anyhow, I wanted something pretty and came across a scrapbook Quick Page in my files, I thought it would do nicely. I added them to my digital cutting machine print and cut out the QP and the cow and the sentiment included, I had placed it onto rectangles to match the colours. I coloured the cow in DI's and added a double layer of dimensionals to make it 3D and decided to arrange a few floral dies in amongst the printed flowers, then added drops to the centres. I also placed some flower dies onto the sentiment. A little glaze to finish on the horns nose and eyes.
I hope you all have more mojo than me and after seeing your beautiful work I know you have. Now this post and the card is finished, I am going to look through my stamps and see if I can get something else done, SiL is waiting for a few birthday cards, so if that's not incentive what is ay? AND there is blue skies with fluffy white clouds instead of the awful wind and rain the last couple of days.

You know what I'm like about the garden, well a couple of photos, taken a couple of days ago.

A lovely show of Aquilegias and our very old clematis, it is an original plant in the garden and we have been here 27 years. Hubby has tried quite a few times to take cuttings, but they just don't grow.  (That's him in red, seeing to the potatoes in the pots)

No! this is not a marquee for the Gnomes or Fairies in the garden, it's stopping the carrot fly and white butterflies from laying their eggs, in the carrots and cabbages.

Floral and scallops and something VERY different

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all enjoying your new found freedom, BUT, carefully!

This is a picture heavy post, just a warning. 😉

My card today was made as I needed something bright and this helped a lot. My blog friend Shirley, who is so generous with her files, gave this out as a freebie. and as it was so different and pretty, I decided to use it for the base of my card.

I cut it out with my digital cutting machine and was going to just add the arrangement as a print and cut, which had been 3D'd layered, except I decided to add DI's to the card in the same colours, but went further and used a new stencil from my magazine with white ink through it.

I went further and splashed some clear sparkle ink on to it all and even through the stencil again. I don't usually "play" like that, I thought maybe it would be a mess, but ended up quite liking it. I stamped the sentiment and added a gold circle to the back of the scalloped circle. I wanted more! the next step was to add a gold glitter pen to the flowers and leaves.

For a playing around card it turned out OK. and I think suitable to send to someone I have in mind.

After something pretty? Piccies from our garden.
We had the tree surgeon in to take my beloved tree down and -

after the cut!

some of the remains

grinding the roots out

- he said you had better see who was living in the tree! This was he -

we decided to add him to the garden and put him amongst pretty things. I may even get hubby to drill out the trunk and put a pot in it for him to have some hair!

I know he looks scary on the first look and someone said he looks like the "Elephant Man", but after having him looking at me for a few days, he's become quite a friend. Bless him.

Isn't Nature incredible to form something like this?

Scarecrow 2 ways

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I went through the fab QKR images and decided to use this happy Scarecrow. Firstly changing the background of a photo, I took a couple of years ago of a Rape Seed field in Lincolnshire, to an oil painting effect. It's quite a subtle effect, I added the sentiment to the grass and a shadow for the Scarecrow to "sit" on.  Next I added paper piecing to the Scarecrow overalls, and some hessian effect paper to his face and leather effect paper to his boots, then painted the rest of him. All in Photoshop.

The background was printed with 2 different sentiments I thought of, I couldn't decide, so did both. Why not ay? The digital Scarecrow was printed and fussy cut out, then 3D'd onto the yellow background card, both added to the ready made card.

I decided to try and copy the digi with DI's, I have to say for a non colourist I was pleased with the overall effect, get it? "overall"! OH! Well. 😉 I fussy cut him out and 3D'd him onto the different sentiment.

Anyhow, here they are separately and together.

Our Garden, no cards, I'm very sad, but excited.

Hi Everyone, you know how I love my garden? Well there is news about it which I am really sad about, but in a way excited too.

We are going to destroy my beautiful garden to make it easier! Why? It all started with brambles! We have always had about a 10 foot wall of brambles on the pathway behind our garden, then 2 weeks ago the Council grass cutter man decided to go into it and practically cut it all away. Also our conifer hedge has died a death with almost no growth on them. We only have a small wire fence, so it became a necessity to build a fence for privacy and security.

Hubby and I had long and realistic discussion about the garden and as hubby is getting older now with more aches and pains than he wants, the 4 foot borders around our 55 feet by 55 foot lawn are requiring him to do too much digging and maintenance, so we decided to add a fence between the neighbours and us to narrow the borders and make the garden more manageable. It has upset me, but change has to happen to make life easier for Hubby. We'll have to arrange something in the garden, so that the 2 men can have a chat, as always, over the fence whilst gardening! 😁

I hope you will put up with my ramblings. I intend to take photos regularly so that I can keep a record, there is a lot of preparation before it goes up in July.

This is part of the preparation by removing all the stones that had been placed under the wire fence by the previous owner. You can also see how awful the conifers look. Although the honeysuckle and the Pieris are looking good.

This is hubby clearing the stones and ground for  the fence to be erected on our border.
It also shows, the well past it's sell by date, wire fence, something all the shrubs hid.

This is the garden onto the waste land. He always keeps the way clear of weeds.
You can also see the stones left for him to remove.

You can't see in this photo how the tree grows over next door's border and
makes it necessary to remove the tree to erect the fence in the corner.
All shrubs have been cut back to facilitate the tree surgeons access to cut the beautiful tree down 😞 I have asked the tree surgeon and the fencers, if there is any other way. Yes! they say, don't put a fence up! or leave a gap of 5 feet!😞

On a good note!
The Creeping Phlox is putting on a wonderful show.

More good news, we have the potatoes growth reaching the top of the large pots. Hopefully we will be picking potatoes in a few weeks. Nothing like new potatoes, other than chocolate that is?

Birthday

Hi Everyone, this card was made because I saw a sketch that I liked and chose this lovely image from my files to make it.  It's been in there for a long time and I don't think I have used it. I was going to add a few things, but after colouring the image 4 times, I gave up and was just glad to get it done, but decided maybe it just wasn't good enough. A day or two after, I thought, she's OK and I can still enter the challenge, it's the taking part isn't it? then I took photos and forgot to add the little extras I was going to. In the end I decided to go as it is!

Here she is, such a lovely image. I did a print and cut on the Cameo, then coloured her with DI's. Before I give it to someone I may add a die cut or 2? We'll see.

Water/Beach TMR

Hi Everyone, my card today is for

The Male Room Challenge

I really didn't know what to do, so I looked through my stamps and my cut files and decided to put the ones I found together, so my take on the challenge today is Water!

I cut the background out on the digital cutting machine and added DO's and DI's to the background, pulled out a stencil, that I seem to reaching for all the time, and stenciled the sea and clouds. Stamped the birds and boat, coloured them with DI's added white pen to the waves, then 3d'd the sentiment. Off to find some card to add to the background and found a dark navy that I liked, voila all done! btw, the light blue surround is from my lightbox background.

stencil - Funky fossil

I hope everyone in the UK were OK, and no harm to life or property, was had on Monday with the awful wind and rain. Let's hope the cold and frost has finished now too, I think we've had enough of Winter.

Keep safe and well Everyone.

I hope to see you in the Challenge at TMR, if you have trouble with masculine cards, you'll find lots of inspiration from the Fabulous Team.

Floating Alligator

Hi Everyone here I am with my second DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR.

The sun must have been in my mind when I made this, it had been so lovely here in the UK, chilly but blue skies and sun. I have this fun Alligator and had to use this old joke to make the card. I did a print and cut on the digital cutting machine, then coloured it with Distress inks.

The background was done with a stencil the clouds and waves are on the one, so that is great. I didn't make the background too distinct as I thought the Alligator should be centre stage. I added a sun ray stencil and a sun, also cut on the Cameo which was coloured with DI's.

I glued the 3 layers of the Alligator and sun and sentiment (computer generated) to the background, then layered onto gold mirror card and black paper. I then added glaze to his eyes and clear sparkle pen to the sun, rays and dingy.

Critter and Critters!

I have 2 DT cards today this is the first.

our 50th challenge

Anything Goes but

they MUST feature a critter

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale, Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter featured...
We are sponsored this month by TNT Artspirations and they have generously
provided images to our DT to use on their inspiration projects.

My card today is a bit of fun and quite simple, as I thought she needed to be centre stage. I placed the files in my electronic digital cutter and print and cut. I then coloured the turtle with Distress inks. Layered all the papers, attached the 3 layers of turtle and a separate head, which you can't see here as I intended, oh! well. The sentiment I generated on the 'puter.

Something seems to have gone wrong with my layout today, I've tried everything to get it symmetrical.

I hope to see you at the Critter ATG Challenge.

I was out walking to the hairdresser this week and came across these bluebells, out with my phone and this is the result. Just gorgeous isn't it. Such a joy to see.

Also I have had this "critter" in my garden enjoying the nuts and
maybe taking them to her babies?

These 3 tickled me pink, 3 pigeons fighting to have a bath. They did squeeze in.
