Floral Heart

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT project for today and it's for the new challenge at QKR. Our challenge is now on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

My card is a combination of things today - digital cutting, die cut, colouring, blending and embossing. Too much? you decide LOL.

I saw the sketch to start with and decided to follow the design. I started by printing and cutting the heart on the Silhouette. I cut 2 printed hearts and the layers, in case I made a mess of colouring, I didn't thankfully so I took all the layers and glued them together. I took the card and blended the background with Distress inks, I cut a rectangle to fit the card then added 2 die cut shapes as a border. I cut another rectangle and embossed with with similar flowers to the heart added both rectangles to the card and then the heart with die cut sentiment added also. A little bow and my card was finished. This is quite a different card for me in colours and the mixed media!
much too late to join the challenge sadly.

Scratching

Hi Everyone, my second post for today and it's for the
New challenge at QKR and it's my DT card
We will select two winners each week 1 using QKR Stampede
or Eureka Stamps image and 1 using any image!

We have changed our challenge to the 1st of every month for the Summer,
on a trial basis but, it's still Anything Goes.

Anything Goes every 1st of the month

I saw this donkey and had to use him, he reminds me of me! I have a hearing aid and push it in more if I can't hear! I thought he was doing the same, hang on a minute, shouldn't that be "she was doing the same?" OH! well!

The card came together very quickly without me thinking about it really. I saw the cactus in the image, and took the colours from the "sand" and the cactus. Except I didn't have paper to match, luckily I have some paper templates I can colour in Photoshop, so that's what I did. I then cut the cactus on my Silhouette and coloured them in the same colours.

I saw this fun image and had to do something with him. He is open to all sorts of sentiments and quotes, I saw this amongst my sentiment files and decided this was the one, (for this time). I designed it in Photoshop and printed, fussy cut and then layered the papers and 3D'd the image.

As Bears Do!

Hi Everyone, it's a Friday and it's my DT card at
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.com/
We will select two winners each week 1 using QKR Stampede
or Eureka Stamps image and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every Friday

With all the stories about toilet roll, I couldn't resist this bear image from QKR, I matched it with a quote I saw on the web. Mojo wouldn't let me put together a background and as I was using a design for a different card, I thought I would have a look through and see what digital cut dies I had, that I could use. I saw this and fell in love and thought it was perfect for the bear image, making him in a forest? I cut the tree frame out and coloured it to match the image.

QKR Stampede challenge

Hi Everyone, it's a Friday and it's my DT card at
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.com/

I have had a few spin offs on this theme recently and have more in mind, but the one that started it all off is this one. I had the quote and thought I had something to go with it, then realised I didn't, so had to start from scratch. I searched my files for film and the film background paper and the negative strip came up, for some reason I thought newspaper and searched for that and up this one popped up. All I had to do is put them together.

I have to admit to feeling like I haven't any film sometimes LOL. I hope you are all well and have some film of your isolation period left for your memories!

Central quote - QKR digistamps
I added a chalked border in Photoshop
newspaper - Digidewi
film strip - Carin Grobe
this was placed into Silhouette and traced and cut twice

An apology

I added a poem on THIS post and the author Jan Beaumont Auckland, NZ  has contacted me asking if I would acknowledge her writing of it. I am only to happy to acknowledge Jan Beaumont being the author, I think we can all thank her for the enjoyment she brought to us. Wonderful writing and putting into words so many of us felt.

I also have to add, it was sent to me by email with no mention of the author so this was by no means a deliberate omission on my part. I enjoyed it so much I felt I had to share it, so my apologies are meant from the heart.

I have added an acknowledgement on the actual post, but many of you probably wouldn't revisit, so I felt I had to post it on my next post here.

Cat out of the bag!

Hi Everyone, it's Friday and it's my DT card at

When I saw this wonderful image I just had to have it, for some reason, my ink isn't bleeding after I print the image out as it used to, so I used Distress inks again, on the image and the sentiment banner. I tried a tartan and think it may have worked, hope you think so?

Serenading Turtle

Hi Everyone, my card today is from a win I had for image winner at QKR I was thrilled to bits as the elephant is fabulous, anyway one of my choices was this turtle and snail, I just could see the turtle singing Happy birthday so I had to have him and colour them straight away. I even added a pale blue around the image as I've seen others do, not sure if it's successful though. They seemed to stand out better without it. He will go to a Great Nephew this month.

I used watercolour card, printed the digital stamp image, coloured with Ranger Distress Inks.  I cut the image out with a die and also the background paper copying the sketch, but placing the cut piece back into the space.

The sentiment is computer generated with an added music staff behind it. fussy cut 3 layers.
Distress inks - I'm sorry I forgot to record what colours I used :(
die - Tonic pin dot circle
paper - Craft Sensations

Elephant emboss paste

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for
I hope you'll join us, there's great inspiration throughout the blog for
that masculine card so many find difficult.

Don't forget to add the challenge badge to your post.

My take on the embossing, is to use "paste" which I made myself, by using talcum powder and watered down PVA glue, I also added fine silver glitter into it, I didn't measure! just got it to look like the right consistency to spread!

Then I spread onto patterned paper through a stencil I cut out with my Cameo. I mounted it onto black paper and added it to the card. I printed out the Elephant with the added sentiment, (cased from the web). I coloured the Elephant with marker pens, and mounted that onto black paper. Ribbon added voila! I have to admit I'm loving this card. It's off to my Niece's husband.
coloured with Spectrum Noir Marker pens

I was hoping this photo would show more of the glitter,
oh! well at least you can see the patterned paper - a little LOL.

I followed this sketch, but was too late for the challenge :(
