Pelican WLSC

Hi Everyone my DT make today is for

We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme

I am still struggling with my card making, but managing to get some done, I gotta, the family are waiting for their birthday cards. This is for another GNephew, full of fun boy, that I thought would give him a laugh or a smile?

I loosely followed this sketch.

I found an old fun digi stamp, and went to my Silhouette to print and cut 3 layers, I managed to get 3 layers of sentiment on the same cut. So much easier than fussy cutting!

Next I coloured the pelican with DI's, sadly the yellow colours of the bird haven't come as original in the photo. Anyway, he and the sentiment were glued together. I tried painting a background, twice, a complete disaster, so gave up and used a digi paper.

He needed something else, I thought, so added a setting sun die and some birds, ready to roost. It was done, but what a struggle! I think he turned out OK in the end.

Baa-thday CCC

Hi Everyone, my first DT make today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

My card today is for another family member, I blame the large numbers on my Mum & Dad. Bless them.

I love this sheep image, but haven't used it for a while. I thought it about time, seeing as the fields are filling with the sheep and their lambs.

I stamped it onto a hammered white card, the black face is supposed to be black all over, but because of the hammered card it has not filled the face. I didn't mind the fact, so went ahead with it, colouring the sheep and the eyes, then the background of the frame with a light blue. I die cut it, leaving space for the sentiment.

I stamped the "happy" and went to my Silhouette to cut the "Baa-thday". I chose the font, sized to fit the centre, and cut it. I then added the stamped piece to light blue card to match the frame.
If you would like to see others with the same stamp see HERE & HERE & HERE

Thank you

 Hello Everyone.

I have to thank you all for your continuing support of my blog, something I am struggling with. Someone on my blog asked how I was doing recently, so I am going to let you know, rightly or wrongly, opening my heart, I shall hopefully make it brief.

I am not in a good place and find card making and blogging too much pressure at this time. You may say 5 months after he died I should be feeling OK now. I'm afraid it's not that easy for me. He was my life and I had been with him since I was 16, 63 years. A few of you will know how I am feeling. I had to let you know that I will try to visit you, and appreciate your wonderful work, and the inspiration it gives me. I will continue to make cards, with difficulty, and try to blog them too, as I have said many times we are a large family, so plenty to make. Time seems to get away from me, with extra tasks to do now, and struggling with my condition.

Please know I appreciate you all for your messages, help, and the love that comes through too. I will get there, but things are popping up that I am finding difficult to deal with, like our beautiful garden, today the gardener I employed said he doesn't do weeding etc. He did grudgingly do the hedges that needed a prune.  Martin always kept it so beautiful, and no one wants the work involved.

My apologies for revealing my worries, but that's part of what is going on, making blogging seem not so important. I hope I will find time to visit you all at least occasionally.

Thank you all again.

Keyring gift box

Hi Everyone, my post today is about a box I made for a keyring my Niece is making. I bought a few to share with their names on, for some girls of the family. They were different colours for each one, I gave them when we got together for a night out to see the Shen Yun Show locally.

The box is a design by Lori Whitlock, which I sized to fit the keyring. The card is from Craft Sensations named Enchanted Garden, each one was different from the same pad. I thought I had taken a photo of them all, but seems I didn't duh! I undid one for my SiL to take a photo, then packed it up again.

The keyring is available here, I thought we add links for other items, and thought it would be OK to add a link for the keyring.

WLSC Spring has Sprung

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme

I saw this stamp set and had to have it, I thought it cute.  My mojo is still on holiday, so a sketch from 2013 for inspiration this time.

I stamped the girl, then the raindrops, can you spot my deliberate mistake? The raindrops are upside down, duh! I then die cut it, with a larger size to layer. Next I went looking for umbrellas in my files, and found these fab papers, so perfect for what I wanted and forgotten about.

The girl was coloured with DI's and I simply watercoloured a background to match the papers, which were cut to fit the 6x6 base card. I then stamped the sentiment. They were all layered and placed to match the sketch, but I also wanted a couple of umbrellas on the paper to show, and the "singing in the rain" showing too.

I think I may go to a couple more sketches, perhaps I'll get some mojo back. I really enjoyed making this card, even though a couple of things could have been better.

Penguin Birthday

Hi Everyone, I had to make another birthday card, and used another digital stamp. I used papers from a pad I fancied, and layered them onto plain paper that matched. I then sent the image into Silhouette and print and cut it 3 times. Already having made the birthday wishes circle awhile ago, I then added the shape of the penguin with the balloons merging them, so the circle incorporated the shape of the balloons. Something like masking!

Anyway, the penguin was coloured with marker pens, I then coloured the wishes on the shape and added the penguin image to the layer. With my mind not on things, and mojo still absent, I'm happy to say it all came together quite quickly, surprisingly, and I like the nearly monochrome look too.

WLSC Spring has Sprung

My DT card today is for

 We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme

Of course to me Spring means Daffodils and that's what I have for you today, not one but two, and a two Spring piccies too. I'm being generous!

My daffodils were stamped and coloured with DI's, then I cut each of them out, now what to do?

I embossed a frame around a piece of card and die cut the shape. I remembered a card that I had done with a die cut replaced into the die cut area, so decided to case it and die cut the piece. It was replaced it inside the shape and glued it to a piece of yellow and blue spotted paper, although the spots can't really be seen.

A sentiment was stamped, and the daffodils were then glued into place. Next I splattered some rose gold onto the first card to match the daffodil colours and gold onto the second to match the yellow daffodils. Simple cards but it was good to make two enabling me to help fill my long birthday list of birthday cards.

Vehicles Or Transport TMR

Hi Everyone my second DT card today is for

 The Male Room

Still without mojo, when will it return? I have too many family cards to get made, it's going to be hard at this rate. I had already die cut a car, but it didn't go anywhere, even after a few attempts!  So off to my files again and found this image. My brother sent it to me many years ago, so I don't know where the original came from, I was under the impression, he added the ivy etc to an old car in Photoshop, but I may be wrong. He used to be a photographer, so very experienced.

Anyhow, I took it and added it to a scalloped half, in Silhouette, found some quotes to suit the men whose birthdays were in March. The scalloped image, and the background with a quote, were print and cut, then added to the base card, the scalloped shape was 3D'd onto the card. I used a landscaped 5 x 7. Next I found some gears and cut them out in Silhouette with rose mirror card to match the rust of the car. Then they were added.

I was happy to have 2 cards with one sitting.

CCC Giraffe

Hi Everyone, my first DT make today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I have a lot of birthdays and this is one I made for a GNephew. He is tall and quite serious, so I thought I'd give him a laugh or a smile?

I printed the background to include the sentiment and then on my Silhouette, print and cut 3 layers of the digital stamp giraffe. I coloured the top layer, I had seen a coloured giraffe on the web and thought why not? It was coloured loosely in DI's, then the layers were glued together. Something I learned recently is that giraffes have purple tongues, which tied in nicely with his colours.

Before attaching the giraffe layers to the base layer, I stencilled leaves, then added it to a giraffe pattern paper, not that you can see much of it. It was then glued to the base card. Next I added the giraffe layers and decided to add a stamped, then die cut leaf.

WLSC Wild Life Tiger

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme

 Wildlife - Animals/flowers/plants/trees/fish/birds/butterflies etc (A&C)
https://www.welovestamping.co.uk/

I didn't have a "wild life" stamp, that I wanted to use, so off to my digi stamps and I came across this old one. That I had made into a card here, nearly 10 years ago. Anyhow, I printed it out onto cream paper with the sentiment, it was just the right weight to use for water colouring. After reminding myself what colours a tiger is, on the web, I coloured him with DI's. I then used a white Posca pen to go over the white areas. I kept it very simple, as it's a wonderful image with impact, I thought.

After colouring it, I cut it to fit the card, and layered it onto an orange paper background, I did the same to the sentiment. I'm so glad that I used cream paper, layered onto cream hammered base card. I think the white stands out more.

inks - Distress inks, dried marigold, rusty hinge, bundled sage, peeled paint

Birthday card

Hi Everyone, a card that was done for another family member, I have so many birthdays in March. I love this clover stamp. I decided to use it with a pen die, that I'd forgotten about. I stamped the flower, and coloured it with DI's, then added a text stamp randomly.

Next I cut the pen die out of textured card, matching the clover, and gold mirror card for the nib and pen holder, what is lovely is that the gold nib is textured. Not colours I normally use, but I wanted to go with the colour of the clover flower.

Blue & Brown TMR

My DT card today is for

I'm struggling with mojo, so I'm using my Silhouette, sketches and casing some cards to get me through this complete blockage. I had pieces of brown card on my desk from my previous post and then realised the colours were what I wanted for this post. How handy was that? I went looking for more of the brown card and I didn't have any! Just little pieces that were far too small. I had to order more, who runs out of brown card?

Anyhow, I had already chosen this treasure box to make. I then I picked a different paper for the blue, I decided on pearlised, so that I could stamp the greeting on it.

I cut the base box with my Silhouette, and after glueing it all together. It was fiddly, as I had reduced the size of the box to fit the gift I was using it for, it's still 85mm x 80mm (31/4 inch x 3inch). I tried to keep the paper pieces together, also cut with Silhouette, whilst stamping, again a little fiddly, but they were done and added piece by piece to the box. I then used dies for the fastener, with an anchor cut with Silhouette, and a little velcro to close it. I'm quite pleased how it turned out. Although the quality of the stamping could have been better! My apologies.

WLSC Wildlife

Hi Everyone, my second DT make today is for

We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme
 Wildlife - Animals/flowers/plants/trees/fish/birds/butterflies etc (A&C) World Wildlife

My choice for this month of the WLSC is this mices image, that I stamped and coloured with DI's. The sentiment was also included in the same pack. I actually made it for my crafty SiL, who loves knitting and crochet.

After stamping it and colouring, I embossed the top of the image with a cable knit design, which I rubbed over with ink. I made a border with the knitting stamp in the pack. Next I cut, coloured, and added balls of wool dies, I should have been a bit finer with the colouring of the balls of wool, but was not in the mood at the time of making. It was accepted with joy, that's the main thing.

Doggie Bag CCC

Hi Everyone, my first DT make today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I was asked if I could make a bag with a dog on it, so I went looking for dogs in my files and found this. Well, I had to make it.  So easy to make, and she was pleased with it too.

I used the cut file with my Silhouette, cutting out all the pieces out of 210gsm (80lb) paper. After glueing all the pieces in place. I inked the edge of the face and added a Velcro circle to keep the head in place, as it closes the bag, so clever.

90th Birthday card & memories

Hi Everyone, this is the card I made for my eldest brother who was 90 on the 3rd of this month. I got together some photos on my computer, and some I found going through lots in January. I added a background paper to give it a little colour and interest, then added frames and paperclips, some quotes, even a couple of red arrows to identify him in a group. Not only that, but I managed to find photos through his life from the age of three. After it was completed in Photoshop, I printed it out and layered it onto an 8 x16 inch base card, then for more interest a ribbon. I'm glad to say he was very pleased and had forgotten some photos.

His daughter and myself and our younger brother and his wife took him out for a meal. Our other brother was too unwell to come from Lincolnshire. Big brother had had a big party with the local Railway Club, (he was a fireman on the Steam Engines) who had also, with the Mayor, presented him with a fob watch engraved with his name and age, and a Great Western Railway train on the front. A beautiful gift with the memory of a big gathering especially for him.

ribbon - stash

I thought I would show you our daffodils in our front garden, they've been flowering since the end of January and are still showing. I hope they stay until March the 1st, St Davids Day. We usually have a few of them last until then. The shadow on the right, is because I took it indoors, it was too cold to go take them outside, coward that I am.

Hearts Mid Month WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Myself

Hearts

February is the time of professing our love, as I said in my previous WLSC post, but it can be for any occasion. I have two occasions today. I didn't have any heart stamps that were of the right size, so I drew them instead. I then ordered some, well you have to don't you?

Firstly, I will show you the card I did with my new stamps. The stamps weren't separate as I thought, but that didn't matter, I used them for an Anniversary card, thinking of our 60th in June.

I went through some papers and found a spotted paper I liked and stamped onto it, then embossed in gold. I had found a banner in some very old stamps and used that with the Anniversary greeting that came with it.

Next I attached it to gold mirror card and then to the base card, a very simple card. I thought I could add the year numbers on top of the banner, there are a few special anniversaries in the family this year, maybe using it for one of those.

paper - Craft Sensations, Romantic Florals
heart stamp - Temu Love Stamp
banner stamp - no identity, a gift from my lovely SiL years ago.

This is the card I drew hearts. I wanted a thank you card for a neighbour who has been wonderful and above helpful for me. I cut a piece of card, then drew some lines and 3 hearts with stems. Next I coloured them with 3 different reds, a combination I saw on the web, which I liked. I then used 3 different greens for the stems.

I had already used a sentiment for my last card from this set, so decided to use two more from it. I stamped them to suit, as I thought, then layered them onto red paper which were attached to the base card.

stamp sentiments - Avian Allure by Alex Syberia SCP272
inks - Distress inks, ripe persimmon, abandoned coral, fired brick, shabby shutters, bundled sage, forest lodge, and antique linen for the ground.
red paper - Lidl

CAS TMR

My DT card today is for

I've had no mojo, so have been looking at some of my old cards for inspiration. This is from 2010, before I was blogging! The image I've used is very old, but I found it in my files with no identification. The sentiment is the same. I print and cut both with 3 layers each in Silhouette, then I coloured them with DI's.

Next, I embossed a card cut to size, with a music embossing folder, although you can hardly see it. It was attached to the base card, adding the image and sentiment onto the music.

images - unnamed
inks - Distress Inks, salty ocean, squeezed lemonade, abandoned coral
