More scrapbook pages!

Hi Everyone it seems I'm on a scrapbook making splurge. My subjects today are my Niece's Grandchildren, doesn't seem possible to me! Anyhow, the first is Owen with Static hair Bless him. He's such an adorable little one. The second is Owen and his big Sister, she is a sweet child. Shame we live 4 hours from them. Although I do have plenty of photos sent to me of them.

I'm not that good with scrapbooking it's not something that I had heard of until I saw digital scrapbooking a few years ago, in fact I started making them in 2011, that sounds a long time ago now, I didn't do many at all, just special pages. I don't have grandchildren or many digital photos to pull from, although I do have a few photos I have digitised. I prefer the digital pages, so I went with them and have enjoyed doing it, I can print them out if I want or send them to someone, as I have with these, to their parents and Grandmother. They can then do what they want with them, save them on different medias or print them out. OR, print them as an album, as is possible online.

These were templates all I had to do was add photos so easy.
template - Akizo
I added text and added a bevel and emboss in PS,
hoping it looked like static electric?
added a label and it was done

This was also a template I added different elements and papers, text and a label, I love these photos of them,

Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, we woke to snow this morning a rare occurrence for us, so it was as the poet J.P Priestly said  -

" The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different."

It certainly was for us, first thing before I did anything, it was out with the camera and step outside in my nightie and -2C to take photos of the garden and the beautiful site before me, crazy? Yep! but so glad I did, as before lunch, half had melted and gone, there is still a layering of about 2 inches in most parts and the road is covered. I'm hoping hubby can still go get his vaccination on Tuesday.

Of course it had to be recorded and I did, by using just 2 photos. I made a digital scrapbook page, I had the template in my files and I thought it so apt, not only for the snow, but Covid circumstances too.

I know quite a few of you have had snow and probably more than us, but this is my record of our snow. Looking at the mountain that is in front of us and our garden. It seems as if my header predicted it for us!

Bloom

Hi Everyone, a very quick post today, I did this card in double quick time too.

A quick post as I have a few things I'd like to do, February and March are filled with birthdays for me. Anyhow, I hope you're all well and keeping safe, it seems a lot of the country is getting snow we have brilliant blue skies with hardly a breeze, but temperatures are just 2C this afternoon. So keep safe and no slipping on ice.

I got out a stencil I cut with the Cameo, coloured and lifted it and placed it down at different angles, in different places on my card with DO's, I then stamped 3 stamps and added Pixie Powder to the flowers and dragonfly by adding water to the powder on my glass mat and painting it on, it adds a lovely shimmer. I love this stencil effect for quick cards.

stencil design - Jamie Koay at Silhouette Design Store
inks - Distress Oxide, Stazon
shimmer powders - Pixie Powders Cosmic Shimmer
stamps - Diary of a Country Woman (magazine freebies)

you can see part of the shine here, it's also has a great shine on the dragonfly too.

I never enter a challenge twice, but these are never before used stamps so -

Washing Line!

Hi Everyone, I'm going through more stamps whoop whoop. I had this stamp from a dear blog friend who knows I was thrilled with it, I should have used it before now. But, here it is and I'm thrilled with it, I hope you like it too. As far as colours were concerned I just picked a few colours and went for it, I have a red washing basket, so I used red for this washing basket. That was all my planning. I'm not a great colourer but it's OK. I shaped the sentiment with the centre part 3D. I love the little frog covered with clothing on the bottom. At least I think it's a frog!

It's a beautiful day here today - at last, after all the rain the last few days it's so good to see the sun, so I have used the opportunity and I have towels on the line hahahaha, copying House Mouse!

stamp - Stampendous House Mouse EDIT Gruffalos'
inks- Distress inks
yellow card - Lidl
sentiment computer generated
pegs - Nelly's Place (years old) (never used)

Snowman

Hi Everyone, I thought I would pop this in here as I haven't done anything to show you, apart from a couple of DT projects for future viewing!

Gill Reed sent me this poem and I thought it too good to let it fly past, so I made a page to show it off, and give you something to smile about - hopefully.

I made the snowman from various pieces of different elements I have in my files.  All elements are put together to make him look like he is, as the poem. If you get my meaning?

poem - Gill Reed
snowman face minus nose - Creative Fabrika
carrots - BDR Gina Jane
snowman - freebie
snow background - Creative Market
"bread" for eyes - bread roll off the web!

Different - for me!

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all getting your vaccines! We have been told here in Wales we are behind with the roll out! Grr I won't say anymore!

Awfully wet day here, hence dreadful photo that had to be taken 3 times in different areas to try and get something like the colours that it actually is. After putting it under artificial light and a white background I got it, but now it's a very wishy washy background, so I added a black "stroke" to the edge in PS.

I have this fabulous set of stamps I bought, I haven't used them, as although I love the images, I didn't know what to do with them, you clever stampers would have done masses with them. I have been dilly dallying with them for months! yep! literally. I'd take them out and put them back, when this week I told myself off and went for it. I'm actually quite pleased with what I did, I know I should have done more with them, although I did actually use 4 of the set of 9 and one of them 3 times. Whoop whoop. - smiley face. I used my new colours of DO's, then stamped over them and coloured the stamps on top with Di's. Not something you should do I suppose, but it's turned out OK?

stamps - Chocolate Baroque , Sticks & Stones
DO's - Frayed Burlap, Carved Pumpkin, Peeled Paint
DI's - Tea Dye, Hickory Smoke, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs
textured card - Cross Stitch embossed - Outlet shop

We have storm Christoph coming in, so it will be getting an awful lot wetter, inches of rain are expected from tomorrow, thankfully we live at the top of a hill. I hope not too many people will be affected. It's adding to an already sodden ground.

Enough from me today. Keep safe everyone.

"Caterwauling!"

Hi Everyone here I am with my card for today, it's for the new challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I chose to use the fun singing cats image for this birthday card. I printed the image out and cut it with a die after cutting out the tail and feet to get them out of the frame, then coloured it and the edges of the die cut. I printed the paper out and die cut that also, so quite an easy card. I 3D'd the cat circle.

Then I had some fun with my Cameo by cutting the Happy Birthday music notes out gold vinyl and placing it on acetate for the bottom border, it was so fine it went a bit wonky, however I thought that was what the cats would sound like, so I kept it to show the "Caterwauling!" LOL. Then added some more notes around them, even more off key! I added a few layers of brown card for the sentiment. That was it. This makes me smile, I hope it does you too.
image - Cat Calling QKR Stampede
Distress inks
papers - WeAre3 (Fairy Mail)
vinyl - MDP Supplies
circle die - Tonic
square dies - Sue Wilson Noble

just to show you the shine of the acetate and the gold vinyl.

notebook

Hi Everyone, still in the dumps with nothing happening with mojo, then I noticed my notebook on my desk and decided to tart it up a little.

I measured the scrap of paper left in the paper pad and it just fitted, onto the scoring board, then a little glue to make a pocket, so that I can replace the notebook when necessary. It looked better, but needed a little more, so off to my Cameo to cut out the word and a shadow. Attached to the front and it was all done, I tell you it was finished in 10 minutes! I felt I had accomplished a lot - ah! simple minds hahahaha.

My other work today? It's my Mum's 108th birthday tomorrow (13th) so we went up to her grave to clean it up and add flowers. I love this photo of her when she was young. Seemed so strange doing it all with a mask on.

Foxy

Hello Everyone, I'm in a lack of mojo state -again! so I decided to go into my stamp "stash" and choose a stamp that I haven't used, like one of most of them hahaha.

Anyhow, I chose this pretty fox, coloured it in DI's then was stumped! I decided to go into my odds and ends box, something I don't normally do and found a piece of vellum, which strangely had the shape on it that fitted around the fox if I placed it right. I found a sentiment that fitted onto the space, heat embossed and corner done.

Then a piece of white card I put the vellum around, onto which I decided to add a little stencil colouring, with inspiration as used here.  After cutting out with a die I added dimensionals to the fox layer and 3D'd it onto another find, a piece of embossed card, that I had done goodness knows when.

I painted the same colour as the fox on a piece of card I had used part of the day before. It was layered and the card was done finished with a few sequins. Although it was made mostly from already used pieces, it turned out not too bad I think. AND, it kept me busy this dismal cold day.

colours - Distress Inks
embossing folder - Embossilicious Chantilly Corner
both stamps = Magazine freebies
stencil - Funky Fossil
sequins - stash

the pieces of stash used,
I had already stuck the embossed piece onto the card!

Pale flowers

Hi Everyone, I said I was working on something a few days ago, well this is it. I don't know why I wanted pale flowers, but here they are.

I had seen gold flakes added to a card here, so I decided to try and do the same, there may be a few more than I intended, but it looks OK I think. At least I have started a pot that I bought years ago and I can't remember opening! I'm going to do that this year I think, using stuff I haven't used or rarely used. I see a few other bloggers are thinking the same?

Although my die frames are new -Yeah! I know so contradictory of me, but I had to have them for layering, that's my reason anyway LOL I even have a stamp order on the way I HAD to have, what's with me? Is it lockdown causing me to veer into newish things, or old that seem new?  Is lockdown doing things to you too, apart from lack of mojo? I have been in a major slump, but a few ideas are starting to form in a "what the heck" way. Look out is all I can say!

stamp - Altenew
DI's - Tattered Rose, Spun sugar, Victorian Velvet, Milled Lavender,
Antique Linen, Old Paper, Pumice stone.
emboss powder - Altenew Antique gold
gold flakes - Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes
dies - Card Making Magic A5 rectangle nesting set
sentiment - magazine freebie

Sheep!

Hi Everyone, it's The Male Room Challenge today

The Male Room Challenge

A nice easy theme this month - Animals,
definitely take your choice, all it has to be is - masculine.
Don't forget to add the badge to your post, to be included for the winner.

There is also a DT call, love making masculine cards?
Come join us. See the blog for details.

This challenge was an easy one for me, I had to use my sheep again, I love this stamp. Although how to use it was another thing as I had already used it a few times HERE. In the end I decided to cut the head from the stamp frame and add a Wobbles.

I stamped the head in black then added clear embossing powder, (the colour is a reflection in the room,) then added grey marker for shadow on the wool part. I used DO's to colour the background, keeping it natures colours and added a grass stamp to "bottom" the card. I  generated a sentiment on the computer and decided to cut it up and 3D it onto the card. A simple but fun card methinks. Sorry about the photo quality, blame the weather! It was for my #3 brother and he loved it. What more could I want.
stamp - Lino cut sheep, Woodware
ink - Stazon black
embossing powder - Papermania Clear
shadow - Spectrum Noir marker
background - Distress Oxide
grass stamp - magazine freebie
sentiment - computer generated

This is after I wobbled the head LOL

Lazy & Tardy

Hi Everyone, I am so lazy and tardy, I have no mojo whatsoever, I think the last 2 weeks have been a huge respite from craftiness and now I am finding it difficult to get going again. However I have one in the making, how successful that will be is another thing, but I thought in the meantime I would show you what's been having in my garden. It's been like a nature reserve, we have had so many birds OK! not different kinds as such, just the "normal" for our garden but so many more than usual.

These are Sparrows, gorging themselves, with the feeders down low they are waiting in the hedge for some room. The pigeons are snapping any seed that the sparrows are dropping.

These are grey squirrels, we have 3 visiting the garden and stealing the nuts, one patiently waiting for his turn, so funny.

This was taken earlier last year

Keep safe everyone.
