Hello

Hi Everyone, you may be wondering why I'm not visiting your blogs, well we have had my SiL pass on and my brother finding it difficult to manage, both 85, I had to step in for a while. We have also had other difficult things going on and it has me stressed to the limit. This had me make a decision of not doing any crafty makes or computer things, however I had to post your comments and they have been so lovely. I really have appreciated your loyalty to my blog, even though I am not visiting you. My DT work, thankfully, is already done for a few weeks, so unless the Good Lord gives me a break, that's all I will be posting for a little while. I will be back visiting hopefully soon, but at the moment it is difficult to do more than I am able.

Huge Hugs to you all and -

Just Because

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

My choice for my DT card today is this adorable bear, although he is named as a "Happy Puppy," I think he looks more like a bear! He said to me, "just because" with his cute expression, so that is what I used as a sentiment. I did a print and cut with my digital cutting machine and layered him after colouring with markers. He is the colour he is because of the limited amount of markers I have to shade. The paper was used to match him, layered onto brown card. A few sequins and some glazed eyes and tongue and he was ready to be sent. I had awful difficulty with taking the photo, not even my lightbox wanted to behave with this card. In the end it was laid flat on my desktop and I used the light from the window - on a dull day though.

coloured with - Spectrum Noir Markers, onto mat photo paper
dp's - Shabby Princess (from 2005!)
sequins - stash
brown card - Dovercraft
glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze

Christmas COW?

Hi Everyone, something different, but I did case it? At least the idea, as I chuckled so much at Darnell's card I just had to do one, this is one of the cows I have in my files, it's a very old (2005) digital set, that I think I have used just a couple of times.  I keep saying I should delete old files then see them and have to keep them. I'm glad I did with this one 😉.

I used a sketch - FMS 475 to start me off. Turning it on it's side.

I found a dp that I thought suited, then mounted on to green mirror card. I added the image and the sentiment and shape to the digital cutting machine, did 2 print and cut of each image and another 2 of the head. I added snow writing paste, to the hat and bobble, glitter glue to the red in the wreath, she had to have eyes, so added some wobbly eyes and to finish she had to have a wobble head. I saw the sentiment on the web a couple of years ago and had saved it and it came up udder/under cows! Sometimes I surprise myself how well I save files!

I hope she gives you a little smile.

Cow - Art 4 Crafts
dp - Oklahoma Dawn @ Digital Scrapbook Pixelscrapper

As 2 Crafty Critters are partnering Double Trouble this month I decided to enter with this card.

Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone, it's the 8th birthday of The Male Room Challenge

Now what could be easier to join in our Celebration, a Male Birthday Card. No idea or struggling with ideas? Come and have a look at what the fabulous DT have done, it may help you.

I decided to do an "easy" card, because of limited time, I was looking through sketches I have saved and found this. Out with my dies to see what I have, found this great masculine greeting die, so off to find papers with stars that suited and found this paper. Scrolls or something under the paper? I found this die. Cards can't be that easy can they? Well it seems they can. Whoopee!

I know I could have done more, but time is precious at the moment.

TMS #531

dies - scrolls, Tattered Lace
sentiment - Tonic
paper - Papermania Modern Lustre (it's old)
gold mirror card - The Range

I hope you join in to celebrate with us. See you at The Male Room Challenge.

Baby Bear

I have 2 DT cards today this is the second, please scroll down for my first card, I'd love you to see it.

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter featured...

We are sponsored this month by SheepSki Designs and they generously
provided images to our DT to use on their inspiration projects.

Don't you just love this darling bear? I printed it onto watercolour paper and painted it with DI's then added a few spots with marker pens, the paper was a cheapy and didn't show the colours up so well, so I added glaze and it now looks like I added a sticker! after he was finished. I added a grass stencil, (I have to say this is the most used of any stencil I have, it's fabulous) and some die cut flowers. The bear layer was attached to the die frame and placed onto the strip of paper. I still wasn't happy so added parts of a heart stencil.

die frame - Tonic
flower dies - Tattered Lace
paper - Craft Sensations
grass stencil - Funky Fossils
`heart stencil - Julie Hickey

Something a bit different this month.  We're partnering with Double Trouble
and here's a bit about their theme which runs from August 1 through August 19.

Challenge #90  "
Thing 1:  Trouble Maker - says, "Cleo, my purr-ty furbaby, is excited that August 8th is International Cat Day.  She's "feline" that purr-haps it's time for us to do something claw-some.  Cleo wants to celebrate all of her fur-ends by creating a project that includes any baby animal, e.g. kitten, puppy, chick, elephant.  She thinks this challenge is a paw-sibility, it's purr-fect and will be pun for all."

You can paws here... OR ... use Twisted Sister's optional twist for an additional chance to our random draw.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister says, "Paw-don me, are you kitten me?  This is hiss-terical!  I am purr-ple with laughter.   Let's see if mew  can come up with a pun for your baby animal or feel free to use one of ours.  Have some pun with this optional twist.

And you're already entering here at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies so pop on over to Double Trouble and enter their challenge, too.  If it fits here, it will fit their theme!  :-D

Bowl of Cherries

Hi Everyone here I am with my first of two DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR.

I had an image of a cherry and I decided to copy the shape and make a die cut out of the image, with a red card for the top layer of cherry and a pink for the bottom layer or the shine of the cherry, then different colours for stem and leaf. I embossed the leaf to shape it and curved the cherries. I added gloss to the cherries and sparkle pen to the leaves. The background arrows are from the sketch I followed. I also cut a bowl shape and placed the cherries into it.

The extra cherry was placed as if it was out of the bowl! I'm really pleased with the result of the cherries.

The sentiment was printed and then, you may remember I hadn't tried "sploshing" here and used a dp, well here I sploshed! Not quite as I would have liked but OKish.
sketch - Freshly Made Sketches #425
papers - Just So Scrappy
inks - Distress Inks
card for cherries - Papermania Solid
