Baby Boy

Hi Everyone, a quick one today, as I'm expecting my eldest brother for lunch. Hope you are warmer than us today, it's 15C /59f and raining.

I was told by my neighbour that she had a new Great Grandson, so I had to make a card for them, I needed it quickly as she was going to see them the next day.

I have had all the ready coloured elements of the card from 2005 / 2007, Yep! I'm using old stuff. They were placed in Silhouette and print and cut. The frame was 3d'd onto the base gingham layer and the baby was layered and 3D'd onto the gingham layer also. Then all placed onto the blank card base, I added blue ribbon onto the label, next I added 3D glaze to the baby eyes and safety pin and the boy on the label.  The congratulations was die cut out of blue pearlised card 3 times and placed onto the bottom right corner. I designed an insert shown below in Photoshop.
baby - Hobbytool
gingham paper - unknown
border - Audrey Roberts
label and images on it - Eline's At the waterside

the verse reflects their beliefs, I got it from the web.

Fitness Star WLSC mid month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping
the theme this month being "Anything stamped/Masculine "

I went looking for masculine theme stamps and came across these fitness stamps. As I have a few serious fitness men in the family, I thought I would add it to my ready made stash box, for one of them, maybe?

I stamped the sneakers and die cut them with a cross stitch die. Then my mind wandered, and I didn't know what I intended to do. So off to view some sketches and came across this Mojo '537, and knew it would be just right.
I die cut another larger circle and painted the edge over the cross stitch pattern. I layered the first circle onto it. Then stamped another pair of sneakers and coloured them with DI's, they were 3D'd onto the first set.

The cup was stamped and painted with silver ink. I chose a star stencil, well, a champ is a star right? I used 2 of the colours on the sneakers.

The circles and cup were added to the main card, all re the sketch.

stamps - Magazine freebies
inks - Distress inks, chipped sapphire, hickory smoke, lost shadow
silver ink - Kuretake
stencil - a gift, no packaging

I hope to see you at the challenge

Masculine WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for - We Love Stamping

the theme this month being "Anything stamped, option, "Masculine"

Please share our challenge logo

You know I like making masculine cards, however I had a struggle with this, and then realised I hadn't used a stamp I won from Stamp Addicts in February.

I stamped it twice with Oxide to make a longer mountain range. I dragged the colour out, then used a paintbrush to add green to the trees and grassy land, as I saw it at the time.

I added blue for water, stamped a sailing boat and fussy cut (UGH!) it, and to give it slightly more prominence. Then added it to the card. A stencil sky, cut with Silhouette and laminated sheets, was added, a few more colours and a few cloud stamps, I thought an early evening sky was called for?

The birds and the sentiment were stamped, then the scene was die cut and added to black paper to match the birds and sentiment.

Little Things - TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

A great challenge ay? I had too many options, so decided to go CAS.

I haven't a clue how this card came about, as it started as something else, then I saw the bee, Ah! stripes! I have a dots embossing folder, dots and stripes, of course! And so it began. I used some scrap card and stamped the bee, then coloured it and used sparkle ink for the wings and 3D glaze for his eyes.  I fussy cut it. The scrap card was even big enough to cut a square, which I embossed with the EF.

The sentiment was stamped onto another piece of scrap, with a stamp I was very lucky to win in the #455 Snippets Playground Challenge, I even got a glass of champagne in the treehouse! Then noticed even the sentiment has dots.

I needed something to "ground" the dots square, so I embossed a square die (with stitched dots) into the card. The dots square was placed inside it and the bee and sentiment was 3D'd onto it. A few more dots than stripes, but I think it's OK, seeing as the stripes are more prominent?

bee stamp - QKR Stampede

Handsome Lion!

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

This is the other Lion, I told you about in this post.

My Son's 47th birthday is this month, I usually add his age, and he hates me doing it, so I thought I would be kind to him for a change. hahaha. I had an incredible win from Stamp Addicts in February and after seeing this magnificent Lion, I decided to have him included in my winning stamps. I kept him especially for my Son's birthday.

He was stamped and coloured in DI's, adding a stencilled grass base and patchy colouring for the sky, then I 3D glazed his nose and eyes. He stayed like that for about 2 weeks, with me not knowing what to do from there on. I was looking at sketches online, and came across this lovely card, that I decided to case.

I die cut him, layered him onto brown card and used card the same colours as the grass, 2 colour greens, and the blue of the sky. I stamped the sentiment, used brown card to layer that also, and it was finished in no time. Thank goodness for the case. Although, now looking at it, perhaps the blue piece should have been on top! Oh! Well, he won't notice.
