Thinking of you

Hi Everyone, due to Blogger problems, (I can't get into the design area for some reason, it's completely random, but this time I've not been able to get in for days, it just hangs and does nothing.) Just as well I had a few cards scheduled.

Anyhow, this card was for the Outlawz sketch challenge which finished yesterday! I struggled with the sketch a little, then went through my files and found this sentiment and it went from there.

sentiment - Create with TLC  - colour overlay in PS
lace frame - SVG Cuts - cut on the Cameo
rose - Tattered Lace die coloured with Spectrum Noir pens
butterfly - Tonic die - cut from green and silver mirror card.
ribbon from stash
all laid onto green card - Lidl

Pizza Chef

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my Great Nephew in Australia, after recent postage costs for cards I sent abroad, this was going to be one layer card.

I didn't have a clue what to do, but I have a few cards you ladies have made that I really like and keep for reference or ideas. This card from Jenny popped out as it's for the GNephew a Pizza Restaurant Manager - perfect, but of course I did my digi thing to it.

I added a brush font to the brick background then in Photoshop I played with blending options "Blend If"  to get the effect of it being painted on the wall.

I added another brick background to the bottom and did a perspective transformation to make a pavement / sidewalk for the chef to stand on.

I added a shadow effect to the chef, printed it all, laid it onto 5 x 7 inch card and with a pen doodled around the edge, maybe a little too much?

I added 3D gloss to the pizza pieces and his moustache,
 (it's a waxed moustache LOL)

image Chef with Pizza - Dearie Dolls
font - Morning Sunset - Fontbundles
brick dp - Far Far Hills freebie
buttons - Uniball silver sparkling pen

Giraffe cushion

Hi Everyone, my project today was for my BiL, who was 84 a couple of weeks ago, what do you buy a man of that age with no hobbies, no smoking, no drinking?

Wandering around IKEA a thought came into my mind, so I bought a 20cm by 20cm plain cushion, then used heat transfer sheets to transfer the digitally coloured Giraffe,  and the border images, which I had used as a colour guide for the giraffe. I am so happy with how it turned out. BiL was VERY happy with it and it seems he won't let anyone sit in his chair while it is on it, Bless him. Should make one for myself, it matches my suite AND it makes me smile everytime I see it.

Cushion IKEA
Giraffe From the Heart Stamps
Corners, from Digi kit Bermuda Triangle at Pixel & Co, no longer available.

I thought perhaps you would like to see where we have been recently, this Country Park is only a few miles from us and somewhere we have not really visited before, you know the "can't be interesting, it's local" syndrome and we loved it.

I used template layout 703 by Marisa Lerin at Pixelscrapper,
then doubled it to make a 2 pages.

Honeycomb and flowers

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Micheal Strong FB challenge which requires use of a honeycomb stencil. Well! I haven't got paints to enable me to use a stencil, so this is my version!

Hetty gave a stencil for everyone to download, so I cut it out on the Cameo from honeycomb DP, then glued the cut out pieces to sparkle vellum, (you can't see the sparkle in the photo - sorry). I then laid the "stencil" on top and under the top layer, which I 3D'd. I laid the "stencil" so it could have been stenciled? with a little white border, hope that makes sense.

Vase Michael Strong red rubber stamp
mini flowers Tattered Lace, Stamp vase and dies coloured to
match the corner, with Spectrum Noir pens
corner floral and bee Hugware, no longer available
black frame Rose Thorn no longer available
square Noble die Sue Wilson
I hope this suits the theme.

Ballerina 2

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is another Ballerina from

Anything Goes Challenge
you can use any image.

you can get her here on the link Ballerina 2, Morgan has a few really beautiful ballerinas it's worth having a looky.

I coloured this beautiful and elegant ballerina digitally, I used a cut file from Shirley's cards, it was so quick to get it cut with my Cameo, even the insert and topper are included. For the insert, I printed both sides of the paper  I reduced the size of the DP for the front shape and enlarged it for the insert, I also used the Cameo pens to write the sentiment, as I was printing and cutting.  I coloured the leaves of the card with  Spectrum Noir pens and used them to go around the outside of each shape. The digital paper is by Dawn by Design, from a kit I had in 2009, so don't think it will be available now, the flowers and the ballerina were also cut with the Cameo. A few gems by Dovecraft for the flowers and all done.

My Team mates have the most beautiful projects, it really is worth a visit to see them.

Pink Ballerina

Hi Everyone, this is my DT post for
the challenge is
Anything Goes

Do go have a look at the DT makes, they have fabulous projects.

My card uses the Ballerina isn't she elegant? The theme is Anything Goes, so I have thrown everything at this card, not like me at all, it must be the elegance and the flowers and I have to admit to liking it. I thought adding a sentiment would go too far, so have left it and will add it inside when I decide which Niece it will go to.

I'm seeing Stars

Hi Everyone, my project today is for

I had a few ideas, but none made the finish! Then I thought of a cut file I had and went with that, SO much easier on the Cameo, LOL. I changed it to the front only, rather than the whole card. I also used a cut file for the box, that wasn't so easy, I cut the wrong size for the box, or the sides, depending on which size you'd like! ah! well I did it in the end, with just a bit of card wasted.

Card is by Shirley's Cards HERE
(I also made it here they look so different I think.)
The star box is by Wendy Bird Designs, but I checked for a link and
it seems it's no longer available. I have seen plenty of templates on the web though.
Both were cut from 250gr Craft Sensations Design pad.
The plain blue with a hint of gold, is 250g by Jellybean crafts.
Birthday sentiment die by Tonic
all stars were outlined or inlined (if that's a word LOL) with
Sailor rolling ball glue pen and
Sparkling snow glitter by Sprinkle and Sparkle
star button from stash
bakers twine from stash.

A White Rose

Hi Everyone, a new digital challenge has begun at Digitally Made challenges, of course I HAD to enter and my first thought was what to make, as it's anything goes, I decided to show off a white rose "Iceberg" that we have in the garden, this is the picture I took of it in 2011.

For some reason I decided to use all white to show it off, with embellishments and DP's from MANY designers, to many to add I'm afraid, but if there is one embellishment or paper you wish to know about, please ask and I'll let you know. There are 27 layers, 5 of which are digital papers. I have used masks and brushes and lots of shadows to get the result.

The quote is one I found after searching the web. I felt it very appropriate for a lot of people and I for one have been there and got the T shirt as they say.

Tea containers and holder

Hi Everyone, In my local Supermarket they were selling strawberries in an MDF box, I looked at them and thought them much dearer to buy than in the plastic container, then one of the assistants came up to me and whispered that the selling price was actually 40p cheaper per kilo than in the plastic container.

That's how my project, to share with you today, came to mind, but only when I was going to get rid of it after we had eaten the strawberries, why oh! why can't I be clever as some of you can be and see it BEFORE I buy, in fact as they were available for a few weeks I bought a few, while available, so have a few to play with Yippee! LOL. OK enough waffle, be ready for a picture heavy post.

I bought reduced Kilner jars for 75p each, the free? box, I already had some acrylic paint with which I painted the box, (hubby didn't want "paint effects" in the kitchen and as he spends a lot of time in it, I thought I would be kind and listen to him LOL.) The whole thing cost me £3. All enough for our favourite teas.

Earl Grey Tea - Top hat Hugware
Blackcurrant Tea - image from web
Lapsang Souchong Tea - Chinese character, meaning Tea, from web
Pear & Caramel Tea - pear Gingersnaps, caramel chocolate Gina Jane
all printed and laminated, cut with Tonic circle die.
I may add something to the box, but I quite like the plain white - for now.

Before work

Prepared box, you can see the pretty shape of the box

I also made front labels for the jars.

Got my head in the sand!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, a quickie from me as it is late at night scheduling this. A digi coloured image from Limited Runs, with a watercolour effect added to it with PS filters, I thought it suited the background paper which is a watercolour effect background from Gina Jane at Daisie.

I saw the quote a little while back on the web and copied it, thinking I may use it one day, well it's today LOL. I have done it for the progressive challenge at Limited Runs FB page.

That's all from me for today. Something different tomorrow. Sorry for the haste, but bed it calling.

Get Ready to Party!

Hi Everyone, I can't get over how the months are flying by, May already, here comes Summer, just hope the weather will let us know it's Summer. Could do with some warmth now, apart from the central heating.

I was asked to make for a girl on her 18th birthday and who is into athletics and running, I had nothing for a girl athlete in my stash, so had to go looking for an image, I found there aren't many to do with athletics out there. Anyhow I found one I really liked and here she is. I put a link to the image in case you need to find one for running? The photo makes the card a bit wonky, that's me trying to straighten it in PS.
