Christmas Iris Folding

Hi Everyone, I am struggling to come up with ideas for my craft club and after looking online I saw iris folding, last week my cards were a little too easy, so I looked for easy, taking a little time? It's placing paper onto lines I thought, that could be OK, so I cut all the papers needed and more, then printed out a free pattern I got online. I cut the tree shape out of card, all using my digital die cutting machine, when cutting lots, it's a real boon for me.

I took papers, peel offs and templates to class and had them follow the lines etc. It did take longer, as I wanted, and apart from a few papers laid down on the open paper side, it went well and the results were really good. I was so pleased, thankfully so were they. There were a few papers over, so waste not want not, I made a few more for myself, a few more added to my Christmas cards

Kraft Thanks

Hi Everyone, Well! what weather we are having, rain rain and more rain. I'm afraid this weather makes me not want to do anything, however I did a card while the sun the was shining a few days ago.

I saw a stamp on someone's blog and now can't remember where I saw it, sorry! I had to buy it, as it reminded me of a clover and a card I did a long while ago. I had bought some Kraft ready made cards for Christmas cards, (at least an idea, that doesn't seem to be working out) but, I stamped this around the card and then stamped the sentiment, I decided to colour the flowers and the leaves with DI's, not that it shows up well, but enough I thought.

As for the sentiment, I found a kraft digital paper in my files, so used it for the sentiment, computer generated then printed it and cut it with a die. Added it to the centre and voila! Although the heat distorted the card a bit, so after I took the photo, I had it under my Grand Calibur and plates, remember that, Yep! I still have mine!

Stamping & lots of piccies!

Hi Everyone, I'm stamping again. I blended the background, and then stamped with blue, however I had to stamp twice and just moved the card, I hate waste! so I used some water and blended the most obvious parts, I think it's worked? You will be my judge!

I also splashed some water over the whole card and added clear glaze in spots, all added to a navy card base and ribbon added. For all the faffing around I did on the card, I think it's OK. Maybe?

As this is a short post I thought I would show you the up to date, well a few weeks ago, piccies of our new fence and garden, you know I like boring you with the garden piccies. 😉 Look out for a "few". OR just scroll to the bottom.

Sorry but none of these have been Photoshopped, so colours are not as bright as they should be. This shows the original grass line of the border, it's being reshaped and re grassed, to make the border about 2 feet wide, just 4 plants remain of the original shrubs, they were in the way of the fencers or the narrowing of the border, so had to be dug up. I have to say that my hubby is a hero for all the digging he has had to do at 78 years old.

this is the top corner which has been planted with a hydrangea and an Astilbe for the time being, more to come.

this is along the top border

towards the left top corner, the beans are gone now!

further along

the left top corner, still a mess, but one hebe planted and a saxifrage
still needing to be dug though

this is the back of the garden, hubby has a new path and more digging to do, poor man.

I thought I would show you some pretty borders along the left side of the garden.
The dahlias are new this year and have put on a wonderful show.

a shame that some of this has to come up, being annuals. We
have had a wonderful show this Summer.

That's all for now, I hope the lovely weekend weather that we have had in the UK, or at least in our part, got you ready for the rain that's due?
Enjoy your week.

Smiling Flowers

Hi Everyone here I am with one of my 2 DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I needed a happy card for someone and this lovely image fitted the purpose.  I didn't add any sentiment or embellishments, as it had what I wanted, a sunny happy front of card and I could write what was needed inside.

I used my digital die cutting machine to cut the image out 3 times to lift it off the frame, then coloured it in DI's. I added it to a stitched rectangle frame. I had the dp sunflower paper, which matched and added that as a strip to the card, after cutting it into a banner shape, layering it onto the same blue card as the rectangle shape. The rectangle was then placed onto it with dimensionals. I added clear sparkle pen to the flower faces. I hope you are cheered by it too. 😄

75 years old, but whose counting?

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my "old" friend who is now 75, she is 6 months older than me and it's been a joke for the last nearly 60 years, so of course I HAD to remind her how old she is.

I had used this kind of sentiment before and I know it's used in blogland, so I just worked out how many days her 75 years would be. Then after I sent it, I was thinking about the numbers for some reason and realised I hadn't used the leap years, it should have been 27,393 - drat! Silly me! OH! Well, I hope she doesn't work it out and realise I made her younger. 😁 It's as I said "whose Counting".

I started with the die cut, not really sure what I was going to do, then coloured it in DOs, I layered it onto gold mirror card, after sizing it to fit an A5 card. I added a corner piece from the off cuts of the die and cut a piece of  gold card with a stamen die, it sort of looks like a flower?

I looked for a digital image, as I wanted something funny and chose this fun image.  I printed it out after adding the sentiment in Photoshop.  I coloured it in DI's the same colours as the leaf die cut.  Then die cut it and inked around the edges. I added a die cut sentiment in gold card. It gave her a laugh and no she didn't work out the days! Whew!

Mermaid

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my Great Great Niece Dorothy, who is 4 years old and such a little lady, that I had to make something feminine for her.

I had a cut file from Lori Whitlock that I used as a pattern for the pop up card. I then went looking for paper and images to use. Luckily I have lots to choose from!

All are print and cut with extra layers on my digital die cutting machine. I had so much fun designing this for Dorothy. I started with looking for a mermaid and found a paper with lots on. I chose one and copied it from the paper in Photoshop. However I also had a digital stamp I thought I could use, indecision had me cut both out, but I chose the already coloured image. Call me lazy?

I added all the images to the pattern pieces.  After it was completed I used lots of glitter and sparkle, I thought she would like that. Shame you can't see how sparkly it is. I used fuchsia pink mirror card for the coral pieces, sentiment and age and silver for the shadow behind the sentiment and her age.

Black & White TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

I love B&W cards so this was up my street. I had an image that I used here, I took it into my digital die cutting machine and cut him out in black card. I then embossed white and black card to see which I liked better, I inked them both with white and black ink and decided I liked both. I cased my own cards! 😀

I realised when adding the TMR logo, they could be brothers?

I printed the computer generated sentiment, which I die cut in a circle and rectangle, they were layered onto black and silver card as were the embossed cards. All placed onto the main card with gems added.

Silent Knight

Hi Everyone here I am with one of  my 2 DT cards for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks

I love this Knight and have been waiting for an idea to let me use it. I have to admit to searching the web and this "quote" kept coming up, although not as a Christmas card, (that I could see) so that's the way I went!

I used my digital die cutting machine for the Knight and the tiny Santa. I print and cut 3 layers of each image, so much easier than fussy cutting for me. The paper background was printed and a white piece of card was printed with the quote and cut to size. I coloured the Knight in DI's. I added him to the embossed layer.  I then added clear sparkle pen to the armour and glitter to the trees and white shaped border and stars. I decided he needed wobbly eyes (to see Santa) so added them also.

Dogs - Bark-day

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, this is for -

our new named blog
with a few differences, under our new owner Kleido

although the rules are slightly different, we still have the same challenge

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter featured...

I had a lot of choice with Critters, but I had these dog images by Kate Hadfield, that I loved and had to use. They came with others, but I decided to try my hand at "white" colouring, I'm not good at fur/hair, but I think they are OK, all the dogs are whitish breeds, so I used 3 for my card.

I took all the images into the digital die cutting machine, with the frame and sentiment. I print and cut them out, with 3 layers for the dogs and sentiment and 2 for the frame and grass. I coloured the dogs with DI's and attached them all to the frame. I added background paper layered onto black for the base and attached the completed frame and images to the card, then added the sentiment. You may notice the frame is slightly off? Yep! one of those moments while I was sticking it on, that hubby distracted me with a cuppa. I was kind enough not to shout at him!
