Retro!

Hi Everyone, my DT post today lets me go back to my late teens / early twenties, I was brought up without phones in the homes, it was letters or a phone box for contacting anyone. When hubby and I had our own home after 5 years of saving and of marriage, we had our own telephone in the house, not that there were many people to call LOL. Ah! how times change, now everyone is attached to their phone inside and outside the home.

Anyhow on to my card.

I felt I had to use the colour of the first phone we had and a retro wallpaper, can you believe we had similar paper on the walls of our homes like this? The doily was also on the table, usually made by MiL or Aunt, they worked beautiful crochet. I still have some of their work.

A Note

Hi Everyone, my card today started with a note to a friend, but I got a phone call and it has ended up as a sympathy card. I really should have more in my stash.

I went for a CAS style, I very much wanted to add more, but sent it as it was.

feather - magazine freebie cut in blue and gold mirror card
dp - a Pixel & Co collaboration free paper
yellow & blue card - The Works
sequins - Dovecraft
sentiment printed on computer - Tattered Lace pindot oval die

Hoot Hoot

Hi Everyone, one of my old workmates and lunch pals is 80 this week and this is the card I did for her, she is a fanatical owl collector of anything and everything, so it HAD to be an owl card.

The pattern was a freebie from Papercrafts Magazine, I added it into the Silhouette Cameo design area and made a cut file from it. The card is a 7x5 size (7inches tall), I LOVE LOVE how the eyelashes cut. I added faux stitching, again with the Cameo. I added "real" paper from a pad by Craft Sensations, then added glitter with my new Sheena Douglas Sparkle Pens.

The sentiment was done on the computer and added to a free owl die, again a freebie from a magazine. A ribbon bow, cut and write the insert with the Silhouette pens, using an owl digital doodle stamp by ECoombs at Pixel & Co, and it was done, I cut a slice from the back layer to help it stand straight. I hope she liked it.

I used the "paradise" because this will go to a friend who is off to Disney, Florida and I'm green with envy after visiting it a LOT of years ago.
