Sports & Hobbies WLSC

Hi Everyone my DT make today is for the mid month post for

We Love Stamping

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme from Anesha

As I said in my previous WLSC post, I have just one set of stamps for sports and as I hadn't used some sets, I decided to go with them. However, I have used this set before, here

I decided to use kraft card, something I haven't used in an age.  I stamped the dart board, then die cut it, with a larger die cut in black card. I temporally placed them in the centre of the layer card, which had been to cut to add onto the base layer. I haven't a circle stamping platform, so tried to add the darts as evenly as possible, I haven't been too successful, but I don't think the men notice, I hope not.

I then coloured them with markers, fixed the dart board in place, stamped the sentiments from the dart set, then cut them by hand and added them at an angle onto the card. Next I added a red pearlised layer to brighten the card a bit and placed the layers onto the base card.

Penguin Birthday

Hi Everyone, I had to make another birthday card, and used another digital stamp. I used papers from a pad I fancied, and layered them onto plain paper that matched. I then sent the image into Silhouette and print and cut it 3 times. Already having made the birthday wishes circle awhile ago, I then added the shape of the penguin with the balloons merging them, so the circle incorporated the shape of the balloons. Something like masking!

Anyway, the penguin was coloured with marker pens, I then coloured the wishes on the shape and added the penguin image to the layer. With my mind not on things, and mojo still absent, I'm happy to say it all came together quite quickly, surprisingly, and I like the nearly monochrome look too.

Beary Happy New Year CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I wish you all a Happy New Year.

My first card of the year, a bear that I have had since 2015, certainly not new, but the first time I have used him. I printed him out to suit a 6 x 6 card and die cut him out. I then coloured him. I thought of Winter colours, so went with that. He was then layered onto die cut pearlised card layers, matching the ink colours, the greens look different but are a great match in real life.

As for the sentiment, I found it in my sentiment box pre stamped, I thought it suited, so went with it. After all, we enjoy having fun in the snow, don't we? OK! We used to, hahaha. I added a touch of glue to the sentiment corners, and the snowflakes, and sprinkled glitter onto it. And of course, he had to have eyes and a 3D glaze nose.

It's a while since I entered any challenges, but I saw this at AAA and felt I had to enter.

Not a christmas Turkey CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

With no idea what to do this month, I went through some digis I have, and came across a chicken that I had to do. I took it into Silhouette, I added a bag design and clipped chicken wire paper to it, the bag and 2 images, in case of a mistake. I also added a made up a sentiment to the corner of the bag. They were print and cut.

The chicken I coloured with marker pens, I also added a piece of holly cut at the same time. It'll come in handy for one of those little gifts I give.  As you can see, they are all old images. That's the way my mind is working at the moment.

Again, thank you all so much for your continuing support. I'm not on the 'puter much. I am trying to visit, but it's hard at the moment. Thank you again. xx

An apple and a crab! CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had designed this card design a couple of months ago and forgot about it, then came across it and decided it had to be made. I cut the apple and the crab from white 300gsm card and coloured them with markers. The colours are not good in the photo, but they are different reds with an orange. I then added and glossed their eyes. Next the joke was printed, that came from somewhere, using a fun font, and it was die cut. I added the apple and the crab with 3D stickers, as if the crab was holding the apple. They were then added to the base card.

crab - front crab - Printable Cuttable Creatables

markers - Spectrum Noir

You want to know the answer? You probably know it anyway. Here it is, the photo wasn't too good as it was taken in bright sunlight. I added the apple to the centre of the crab, then added a fun quote by me.

You may remember me saying about the magpie shooing our Green Woodpecker from the garden? Well, one of them has come back and keeps coming back, it makes us so happy to see him feeding well on the ants in the lawn. Here he is, not good photos, my phone isn't good at zooming with good quality, but it's a record for us.

Bunny popped up CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

As I said in my previous CCC post, I am trying to use digi images I haven't used, this is another, OK, another bunny, but he is cute isn't he?

I first took him into Silhouette and split the image to cut the base layer, paws, and the head layer separately.  I then looked for a pretty floral Spring paper and found this one in my files. Next, the sentiment was added onto the white card to match the pretty pink of his ears and the paper.

He was printed out, with the white layer that I had added a sentiment. Both were then cut with Silhouette. I then printed the pretty floral paper and cut it to layer the white piece.

It all looked too plain, so I added a few die cut flowers and coloured them in markers. Of course a glaze had to be added to his nose and eyes.

Easter gift boxes

Hi Everyone, I've been busy with a few more gifts, again for my walker group. I had the design from Sabine Harris in the Silhouette Card Making Paper Crafts group on Facebook, she is so good at sharing files she designs. I cut them on my Silhouette, coloured the inside ear pieces with Spectrum Noir marker and added little pink balls for their tail. I inserted an Easter chocolate egg. I think they are so cute, the walkers were pleased with them too.

Bunny smile CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I am trying to use up digital stamps I haven't used before, but it's going to be a long road as I have sooooo many. Anyhow, I found this cute bunny, and decided to use it for a GG Niece birthday. I looked for some birthday paper in my files and this came up. I added a black birthday greeting to the paper and printed and die cut it, then attached it onto a die cut paper layer to match the printed paper. They were attached to the card base.

Next I took the bunny into Silhouette and print and cut it three times. I coloured the bunny with markers and 3D'd the hand and feet pieces, it was added to the paper layers. I then added 3D glaze to the bunny's eyes and the camera lens.

The negative and smile word, I designed in Silhouette, and cut it from black card twice, I then painted them with sparkle pen.

Cars 17th birthday card

Hi Everyone, it's my birthday today and I have my family coming for lunch, I love having all of us together.

We all live miles and hours from each other, and as all of us are older, I wonder, each time we meet, if this will be the last time we will be able to get together. With driving becoming more complex, and heavy traffic on the roads they have to travel. Thankfully, the furthest away from Lincolnshire is staying a few days.

We have kept up a tradition, to meet at least once a year, it's usually a couple of times, as we did when my mother was alive.

Here is a photo of us a few years ago, one other brother sadly passed.

Anyhow, enough of my indulgence, here is a card you came here for, it's for a Great Nephew, on his 17th birthday, he is getting a driving licence, so I thought a car card would suit. I've had this in my files from Shirley, my blog friend, for a while and thought it would be great for him. I took it into my Silhouette files enlarged it to an 8 x 8 inch card size, and cut it out. Also added a 17, to cut and add to the centre card, as they are on racing cars.

After cutting it all out, I coloured the top layer of cars with the same colours Shirley had, with marker pens and then glazed them. When dry, they were added onto the black layer and glued together. Both layers of each car were attached to the main card.

The road backing layer is included in the file, so I printed that out and placed it inside the front layer. I had added a birthday verse inside by double printing. After taking the photos, I added glue to the front layers, to make them sit flatter onto the paper. I also made an envelope to fit.

Hello Spring WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Hello Spring

It's March, and it starts with St David's Day here in Wales, so of course it had to be that theme. I was lucky enough to buy the stamp set after Christmas, at a reduced price. I brought in another stamp set of daffodils, and arranged them with the flag and Miss Wales, as I call her. I thought they looked best on a square card, so I die cut a square and, inside that, I embossed using a smaller die.

The images were placed onto the square and stamped. I embossed in gold, so the daffs shone, I've attached a closeup so you can see it, I think it would have been better stamped in black, all done now, maybe next time? I coloured the flag and Miss Wales, she was coloured with DI's in the same colours as I wore in 1981, below. The hat wasn't black enough, so I went over it with a marker. I added wobbly eyes, as I had made a mess of the eyes!

As the 1st of March is St David's Day, I decided to write Happy St David's Day, in Welsh, on the computer and print it out, it was then die cut and placed with 3D pads.

Birthday cake card

Hi Everyone, a card for my eldest brother today, I made it for a DT post and forgot I had made it, I had put it in a pile of cards made for birthdays.

My excuse is, I bought a new guillotine, with Christmas money, that can cut A3 card, so I can easily cut 5x7inch cards landscape. I am so excited, as the only way I could do it before was to use my Silhouette.

I always look through my files for birthday, it doesn't always, but for this card it turned up trumps, yet again.

I took the Baker and the sentiment into Silhouette, then placed them as I wanted them. Next, I added his age and the sentiment. The page design and 3 copies of the Baker were printed. The Baker was coloured with markers, although not my best effort, I hope my brother doesn't notice. They were glued together.

The background paper was printed, and the baker layer was added to it, with the die cut sentiment.

Monochrome TMR

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for

The Male Room

I started off thinking of black and white, but I had just seen a card, looking through my photos for inspiration, again, where is mojo? I saw Mr Fix It. Off to Photoshop I go and design the background, I printed the background, and a plain colour mat, then the image.

I had added a line around the image and fussy cut on it, the image was then coloured with markers. The patterned background was added to the plain coloured background and attached to the base layer. The image layer was added with 3D pads. A different take on monochrome, that I quite like, I hope you do too. Thank goodness for records of cards, that I can case.

Christmas Card WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Christmas

Out of the selection of Christmas stamps I have, this Jolly Santa shouted at me. I had seen a card that I thought would be great with Santa, so I went looking in my files for suitable paper for the face of the card and found this one. Thinking it is a simple design, suiting the theme of the card.

I added the paper to the cut shaped card, then die cut the circle. The circle needed to be highlighted a little more, I thought, so I embossed it with the next size up die, you can see it in the insert photo. I marked the circle through the hole, to stamp Santa, then coloured him with markers, then rubbed the circle guide out.

Next I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of card, and used a marker to make a simple outline around it, to match the outline theme of the paper, attaching it to the front of the card. I then stamped the insert sentiment. Whilst writing this post, I realised it didn't say "have a". I had a look through my stamps again and luckily found one I could adapt. Too late for this post though.

A fun and simple card, that I think will be duplicated for the small children of the family.

Oceans of happiness

Hi Everyone, my card today is on the current theme at We Love Stamping challenge, but has no stamping! It did originally have the sentiment stamped, but I made a mess, so printed it instead.

I started by using a stencil for the sea, using different blues, it was then die cut, and glued to the base card. Next, I got my dies out and cut them all in white card. I coloured them with marker pens, but left the seagulls white. These were then placed onto the die cut sea image. As I said earlier, I stamped the sentiment, but it came out wrong, so I went into Photoshop and made and printed the sentiment, then die cut it, and placed it over the original.

Sun, Sea, Sand WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme from Me, Myself, and I, Yours Truly! -

Sun, Sea, Sand

We were asked to write a little about ourselves and our crafting, here is my story! A long post, so flash past and go to the card if you're not interested?

I started card making many, many years ago, my first love was digital and PrintMaster. Then I had a copy of Photoshop, which I used to make cards for my family, I loved the fact I could design, print and send a card I had made. There was a Craft Fair a few miles from me, and I decided to attend. I saw stamping and embossing demonstrated and was hypnotised by it, so I bought a few stamps, ink, and a stamping block and came home, to find that I was useless at it, more being thrown away than used.

So back to digi. After a while, I gave my not used stamps away, Then I saw what, maybe? I could achieve on a TV crafting channel. This led to me subscribing to a magazine. A stamping platform was purchased after hearing good reports, and that is how I started stamping. However, not seriously until an offer to join the DT on We Love Stamping. I'm still learning, but loving it.

I have had this sea stamp for quite a while and haven't used it, I have to ask myself why? It gives a wonderful feeling of the sea.  Perfect for the theme this month.

I blended the background with DO's, then stamped the waves, and embossed it with white embossing powder, that I had to buy, as I didn't have it in my supplies, can you believe it?

Anyhow, after stamping and embossing, I added more bits of colour within the waves also some white pen to enhance some of the sea. Something I hadn't done before was to add a shadow to the waves and the sea edge, it certainly makes a difference I feel. I had watched the video, which helped me.

After looking and finding some sea related stamps in my stash, I stamped the seagulls and painted them with white pen. The sentiment was stamped next, also in my stash, I felt it needed something else and found the sandcastle dies. They were coloured with DO's, and the flags with markers. Next, the scene was layered onto a blue background, which matched the sea. I hope you will join me in the Challenge. There are Great prizes.

Llama birthday CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I have so many animal digi stamps, that I decided to trawl them and came across this wonderful Llama. I printed her and the sentiment, borrowed from the web. Next, I coloured her with markers and decided to extend the image with stencils and add clouds and extra flowers. They didn't look right, so I added some strokes, with a fine black pen, to the stencilling to copy the image.

After I was happy with the image, I die cut it out and added it to the base card. Simple, but I'm pleased, and it will go to a friend.

Llama - Elizabeth Dulemba

markers - Spectrum Noir
