50th birthday

Hi Everyone, today is a card I made for the niece who is going to China. It's her 50th birthday this week and I decided to use my Cameo and a file from Shirley's Templates, she gives the most beautiful freebie cutting files and has beautiful cutting files for sale too. I decided to use a 5 x 7 size card which was fortunate as so was the cut file LOL. The photo was taken just before I sent it, and would you believe it it was the first darkish day we had had in a couple of weeks, so the photo doesn't do it justice.

Girly

Hi Everyone, here I am again with another DT card for a Deedee's sponsored challenge, this time it is a colour challenge at Creative Moments Challenge my offering is a bottle of nail varnish! well not quite, LOL, but an image from the "Beautiful Lady" kit by Deedee's Digis, I used one of the outline images in the kit and coloured it in PS to match the colours required for the challenge. The inside paper is also from the kit recoloured to match. The sentiment on the top is also from the kit. I added it to my Cameo and cut the outside and the inside so easy to put together then, they actually match LOL.

Butterfly

Hi Everyone a DT post for Deedee's Digis today, she is sponsoring a challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches, I decided to use the sketch from TMS as I had to make a card for my niece, and, with colours which will match an outfit she wore to a wedding I decided to use the FlutteringBy kit from Deedee's.

I used the outline image of the Butterfly and Flower which is included in the kit and coloured it in PS to match the paper. All designed and printed out in PS. I layered the butterfly with 3 layers on the outer wing and 3D'd the sentiment, also from the same kit.

I thought it appropriate, as my niece has a farewell and birthday party this weekend as she off to China in a couple of months. It should have been in a week, but my Great niece has been chosen to dance for the UK in a Dance competion, she has told me which one, but senior moment and all that! and the finals are in July, of course she couldn't back out of it, so they are leaving in August. This card is to wish her luck.

Papers are all Pink Petticoat, which I have neglected for too long.

Christmas Ornaments

Deedee's Digis are sponsoring a challenge at Craft your Passion  - Anything Goes and this is my DT offering, as I have been doing a few Christmas cards of late I decided to do another of the "cool" Ornamental  Contempo from Deedee's.

I used a Tattered Lace border embossing folder to make the background.  The striped paper is from the same kit, which I embossed with the same folder.

I used my Cameo to cut out the ornaments, I can't get over how fine it cuts out, can you see the hanging hooks, soooooo fine. I added tags done in PS, added pink card for the background layer and added green bling to the centre and ribbon to match.

Quite different colours for Christmas ay? but so bright and cheerful. In fact I think I'll send this to my Great Nephew who is in Australia, I think it would be just the thing for the OZ Summer Christmas.

Washi tape

Completely Christmas - Washi Tape at http://suzysmarty1.blogspot.com/

Hi Everyone, Deedee's Digis is sponsoring a challenge at Completely Christmas with the theme "Washi Tape". As it's a DT post, I didn't have any washi tape that would be suitable for Christmas so decided to make my own in PS! Faux washi tape - yep!
I downloaded washi templates then downloaded Deedee's Digis "Blue Christmas" which has fab papers. (I won't blind you with what I did in PS, but you could go to the link below this post, it's where I learned it.)
The frame and washi are one layer with the sentiment added as a 3D element, Stickles added to the pattern and sequins added to the washi tape tree. I'm quite pleased with this effect.

The Blue Lady

This week on Create with TLC Paulette gave us a printable freebie, which when I saw it reminded me of a picture my Mother always had in her "best room". It was a beautiful painting by Renoir and I always loved it. Renoir's painting is now housed in the National Museum of Wales. Which means it's only about 40 minutes from me, I can't believe I've never seen the original. I think that's a visit calling me.

I have put them side by side, which I suppose is not good for my attempt to give the printable from TLC a different look. I added this sentiment from TLC, as I thought as it being an old lovely memory, it is a high value.

Ducks!

Just a quick post to show you a, Mummy Duck and her baby, we saw the other day, at least I think the black one is a duck! LOL I Googled the bird and it seems it's the Jamaican Coot or is known in the UK as a Common Waterhen. I've never seen one before and thought it very unusual. Someone will most likely correct me if I'm wrong (pleeeze)

Also our garden this week (including the washing line) which, with the warm Spring sunshine has burst into life. Although we are expecting temperatures to plunge this weekend to 12C or lower from the 21C we have been having this last week and a bit.

Anything Goes

sponsored by  Lacy Sunshine

This card just flew together, and I LOVE it. Oh! there's me being modest again!

I used Samarkan font to give an eastern edge, I changed the colour of the background layer to match her "trousers", sorry can't think of the proper name - a senior moment. I designed it in PS then printed and layered the DP onto gold mirror card, I added a spring to the image, so she can dance! Added a ribbon instead of the digi border and the sentiment was also layered onto gold mirror card. I cut the image with print and cut on my Silhouette, but I couldn't get it without a white border - more to learn.

Silhouette CAS

Hi Everyone, I have just given myself a challenge to TRY and case a card by Marie Papadopoulou she was known as Bailey Rose  she is now on Facebook and made a beautiful silhouette card, which I just HAD to try. This is my attempt to case a beautiful card by Marie, I hope I haven't let her down. The image comes from a digi kit I got in 2012, the sentiment is by Create with TLC  The image was cut on my Silhouette.

Fabric flower plus digi

Hi Everyone, here I am with something quite different for me, the Sponsored challenge by Deedee's Digis at Outlawz Greeting Challenge is to use fabric and have a sentiment. I can't remember the time I used fabric on a card, so this was a challenge for me, then I remembered that I had some (quite a few yards of mismeasured) curtain material, bought few years ago, so much that a cut off wouldn't make a difference to a future curtain make. Hence this card.

I cut one of the flowers out of the material and used Deedee's Blossom kit to enhance it. I coloured the "blossoms" from the digi kit in PS to match (as near as possible) made them into a decoupage group, then made a strip of the same colours for the butterfly and sentiment, printed them out, fussy cut the flowers and used a Tonic die to cut the butterfly out of the strip of colours and die cut the sentiment out of the single colour strip with a label die, a freebie include in the Magazine Papercraft Essentials a while ago. I used Stickles to add some glitter to the fabric flower and the blossoms.

Penguin Christmas card

Hi Everyone, would you believe it? - another Christmas card - I can't either. Blame Kathy D at Deedee's, she asked if I would make a card for the Deedee's sponsored challenge at Completely Christmas I followed the sketch we are asked to use and here it is. I love these penguins having fun. They are from the "Dashing Through" kit, so is the sentiment.
I added Stickles and snow effect to the hat and the snow, and 3D gloss to the feet, mouth, and eyes.

I have fallen in love with Lunagirl all over again. I never thought I would say I like Vintage, but oh! my she has some gorgeous images. We were given a choice of images to play with and this little girl waiting for the butterfly to land on her flowers just jumped out at me.  I added another butterfly in the small cluster I put together with the layout in PS.

Christmas baubles

Hiya Everyone, yes I know, I don't do Christmas cards before December, but Deedee's has a sponsored challenge at Christmas Cards All Year 'Round and I just had to give this a go, AND I had the opportunity to use different colours, which, surprisingly, traditional Hubby loved!

I have 2 posts today, see you in a bit :)

White and gold dot ribbon and lots of glitter and a
MS border punch, the sentment is also from Deedee's kit.
I folded the star so it is super 3D

Vintage Pansy girl

Hi Everyone, Paulette at  Create with TLC has let me know that I was "first past the post" in sending in a card with the freebie Vintage Sketch - Spring Pansies. I thought I would share this pretty image still a freebie (see the link above.) She is so pretty, I just had to colour her, with help, from a digi kit "Pansy Garden" by Alexis Design Studio.

Husband's card

Hi Everyone, today, another gorgeous sunny 21C day, I LOVE this weather.
I have my DH birthday card for you today. The papers and elements are from a blog hop in March 2014 at SweetShoppe Designs the kits are all "Sweet Everyday".
The wonderful shoes are by Creat with TLC.
I printed all the elements, layered and 3D'd the tabs and the shoe quote, I 3D glossed the shoes, so they shine like DH's. I think he'll like it, his birthday isn't until next week but he won't see this, as his idea of being a techie, is to play backgammon on an app on the TV. LOL.

EDIT - proud to be featured on TLC

Scrapbook page

HI everyone, thank you to my new followers who have decided I am good enough to follow, I really appreciate seeing you here. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Now to entertain you this beautiful Spring day, I am offering you a scrap page with a starring role of my baby brother. I shan't explain anything about it as his words are the ones which were used in an email to me with a picture of Chloe. My SIL took the both of them having an afternoon nap, (yes Chloe is sleeping) and sent it to me

Trying to be Arty?

The Stamping Boutique has a flower digi for it's challenge on Facebook, I have just received my winning magazine  so had to have a go at "trying" to be arty as there were wonderful examples in the magazine.

This is my attempt, using 21 layers and blending options in PS. I know the professionals use a lot more, but I thought this was enough for me to start with, although sometimes I use a great deal more layers for my cards.  It's a start anyway, hope to carry on doing a bit more "arty", although I haven't a clue what it means LOL. Hubby thinks I should have used different colour for the flowers what do you think? Let me know.

Here is my card for the challenge. Quite a bit different!

Layouts ONLY - "Birthday"

sponsored by   Scrappiness Designs

We were graciously given the lovely
"Birthday Bliss" kit by Scrappiness Designs to play with.

I don't have many "proper" family photos on my computer, most are up in the attic, probably getting (horrors!) spoilt! There are thousands that are in Transparency format, so ALL need a change of format, I think it's that that is stopping me from going to do it.

Anyhow on to my layout today, I suppose I could have used one of me! (just look at my blog photo, you see enough of that LOL) however I gave you a relief and used one of my baby brother's 6th birthday, I HAD to use that, he sent it to me a few years ago and seeing it today brought back so many happy memories of the people in it.

A day out piccies

Hi Everyone, sorry no card or boxes or anything made today, we went out! - It was my Brother-in-law's birthday, (card HERE I'm glad to say he had a real chuckle at it.)

We decided to take them out and had a "Afternoon Tea" which consisted of cheese, smoked salmon and ham sandwiches and a 3 tier cake stand with assorted cakes and scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, this was for 2 people BIL and SIL had exactly the same.

After gorging ourselves with plenty of calories we drove through the Brecon Beacons and to Brecon town it's self, it was 21C, a beautiful sunny day, so welcome after the miserable winter weather, although not as bad as some of you have had. Spring shows in the photos I think, I hope you enjoy them.

Easter gift box and bag

Hi everyone, we had a trip to near to Weston Super Mare on Sunday a visit to my Brother and SIL, an hour and half journey through lovely countryside (even though we were on the motorway). I took them a small Easter gift and made these for them. Both made on my new Silhouette.

The box was one of the free files I had with the purchase and the bag is a file I have had a long time, with no designer name on it - sorry. I was so excited, as these are print and cut, it makes everything so easy just peel off the cutting mat and glue - love it LOL. I must learn how to get close cuts with an image, I have failed on one, but hope to get better. The bag is made with DP in the It's a Spring Thing  kit by Summertime Designs, the box is made with DP in the Hoppy Easter mini kit by Elle Designs.
