Spring has sprung!

Hello Everyone, I hope you have all recovered from the 3 recent storms to hit the UK and no one had damage.

It's a while since I showed you some garden photos, so I thought it's time to bore you again! We have Spring coming into the garden like crazy, I even read yesterday it could be the earliest Spring ever! Anyhow, I thought I would show you our daffodils and crocus that I took in between showers last week, they stood up to the wind and lashing rain and still give me joy. The rest of the daffodils in the garden are either coming up later or have disappeared below ground, however our tulips are are certainly putting on a splurge of growth, so many, I wonder where they came from, I hope they flower!

Now on to why you are here, here's a card I did for my Carpenter Great Nephew a few months ago and forgot to show you.

I was in a complete lack of mojo mindset before making this card, when I'm like that, I go through my digital items and see what I've got to suit, then mojo comes to life slightly, enabling me to make a card.

I had all the elements on this card from a digi kit "I'm his Garage" by Sherwood Studio at DigiChick in 2012. I am going back and using older schtuff that I haven't used enough of. This kit came in very handy with lots of tools and elements that my GNephew uses. I gathered lots of the elements and designed the card to suit him, the sentiment was found on the web

this is the insert, again, I found the joke on the web.
the blur is my greeting to him, I didn't think you would be interested in that!

Horsey Gal

Hi Everyone, a lot of things going on which has meant a pause in posting apart from my DT cards, we still have our cupboard drying out, so still things out of it in my craft room! We had a call to let us know the cover on our our faulty divan has been discontinued and we had to choose a new one, making it another 4 or more weeks before we have, hopefully, a perfect? replacement. A few other things added to the stress, but, it can't last forever can it? As they say, things are sent to try us!

However I have made a card for my Horsey Niece. I make her a card with a horse image every year, this is her 59th birthday, so I thought this image suited her perfectly, you know, struggles come about to do things at her age. hahaha

I took the image into my die cutting machine, with the tree, leaves and fence, I cut them all out of plain white card with 2 layers of each and coloured them with Distress inks, the horse is white, as hers is!

After colouring them, I passed the tree through a wood embossing folder. I printed a dp background, onto which I had added a sentiment, that I thought suited the scene. I placed them all to the background and used silver gel pen around the barrel step, then I added a marker pen shadow underneath the horse. I hope she will be pleased with it.

EDIT, Storm Eunice is pretty horrendous, our neighbour has lost his shed roof, we have been lucky so far, just our patio chairs have gone walkabout a bit, but not too bad.

Old Car QKR

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today

This is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I have this lovely image of an old car today. I decided to use for my brother's 86th birthday. Well he is vintage!  Firstly I took the digital stamp into my die cutting machine and cut the car out, the car was then coloured with Distress inks and layered onto the offset layer, I also cut out. The gears and sentiment were both then cut in different card colours. All layered onto the paper with the ribbon dp. I love the colour mix here, something that just popped out for me to use, I thought it something different in a masculine card. He actually commented, that he liked the colours!

Clocks TMR

Everyone, my DT post today is for

My card today was fun to make and I even made up a "quote" on the front. I have lots of clock images in my files and this one had my attention, as did the Hickory Dickory Dock Nursery Rhyme.

I took the clock and mouse into my die cutting machine, cutting 3 layers of each. I printed the frame background with the altered nursery rhyme I wrote, then stencilled the "wallpaper" background around the, can I call it a story? it was layered onto orange card to enhance just the sides. I layered the images and 3D'd the clock and mouse. The clock face and mouse eyes were covered with 3D glaze, (Love that stuff) and I added silver gel pen to the pendulum and the weights in the clock.
sentiment - my own
clock - Creative Bloom 2015
inks Distress Inks
orange card - Lidl
mouse - Bella Gypsy 2013
clock hands - Sheila Reid 2014

I copied the insert greeting from Aimeslee who gave me permission to use it. I used the same frame, from the front of the card, as a surround and found some clock hands to enhance it. I thought the greeting suited this card so well.

Enamoured Knight!

Hi Everyone here I am with one of my 2 DT cards for today

This is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

Seeing as it's nearly Valentines Day, I decided to do my one and only Valentine card (maybe) that I make each year. It's for my hubby and seeing as he is my Knight in shining armour, I decided to use an image I also used here, who would think it could be so versatile? However I couldn't think of a sentiment to match him and then!!!!! someone used the word "enamoured" on TV. A little change in the word and it became my sentiment, well he has armour!  I looked up Google to make sure I was using the word correctly, they say I should use "of you", I would have used "with you", but I wanted to be correct. I wonder what you would have used?

Anyhow, I took the digital stamp into my die cutting machine, as I normally do, to cut him out 3 times for a good strong layer. I then coloured him in Distress Inks and added Clear sparkle pen, for his armour to shine.

I searched for armour paper or something to do with Knights in my files and came across this perfect paper, it has arrows, they had to be fired onto the heart by English Long bows. Didn't they? They were known as the best in Medieval times!

I then printed out the background and the sentiment piece. I decided to make the heart of the paper into a shield shape and make it 3D. I intended to cut it with my Cameo, but I shut down everything before cutting! duh! so I set about fussy cutting. It has a narrow border, I added it with 3D pads. All finished and I have to say I think he will smile at this.
paper - Digi Dewi from 2014
Distress inks - Gathered Twigs, Barn Door, Hickory Smoke
sentiment - mine!
sparkle Pen - Crafters Companion
glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze

here he is in his shining glory?
I used 3D glaze on the heart with sparkle added to it with the sparkle pen.

You're kidding!

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, this is for -

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter as the main focus
Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I had these stamps last year and haven't used them, but this seemed to be the perfect time to use it, for one of my Nieces birthday. She will be 55, just doesn't seem possible. Anyhow I stamped with black ink and clear embossed, the sentiment was done at the same time. I chose the colours which are supposed to be for Capricorn's, then went looking for patterned paper to match as a background layer, nope! I should have done it the other way around. The only way to match the background layer was to ink it in the same colours. I'm quite happy the way it turned out. A little orange ribbon and it was all done, simple layers and bright to post to Belgium where she lives.
stamps - Art Impressions
inks - Distress Inks

ribbon - stash

I hope to see you at the Challenge
