Another Butterfly

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you all.

My card today was for a friend, who sadly didn't receive it. I made a couple of versions of the butterfly, one is here. Of which, a few didn't make it to a card. However, I was pleased with both of them.

With this one, I started with the butterfly, I stamped it and die cut it, then put a mixture of Pixie Powders onto my glass mat and added some water and gold ink. The butterfly was placed onto the wet powder and dried. I then decided it needed more shine, so I added 3D glaze. I stamped some text in 2 corners of the base card and dragged an ink pad over it. Next I added a shadow with DI's and some crafting threads, then attached the butterfly to the centre of it. A stamped sentiment was added. A simple card that I was so pleased with, and to think it wasn't received is very annoying. I've also had another card not received, I'll show it to you in another post.

Favourite Colours - WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping the theme being "Favourite Colours".

Please share our challenge logo

My favourite colours are anything, but I prefer bright! Hence my card, I coordinated with needing a card for hubby's Aunt who was 99. After photographing it for my blog, I decided to add die cut numbers of her 99 years.

Anyhow, I used a piece of linen card to have texture, then stamped the top corner and the bottom corner with the floral stamp I have used so many times, I love it. The sentiment was stamped, and they were embossed with gold powder. I wanted a bit of shine on the flowers too, so I used Pixie Powder, mixed on my glass mat and used a paint bush to add it to the large flowers. I used DI's to paint the paler flowers and then painted the leaves and centre of the flowers to match. The completed layer was attached to the main card. It does have a lovely shine, I couldn't get a photo of it to show it though.

Natures Bounty TMR

Hi Everyone, I have 3 DT cards today, this is for

It's Nature's Bounty, so I decided to use stamps with some seeds/fruit of the season. At least stamps that I had!

I coloured 2 pieces of card with DO's, one for the sentiment and one for the border on the card. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and fussy cut it out, then layered it onto black card and fussy cut it again. Next I stamped over the second coloured card with black ink and coloured the fruit with DI's. I loved the colours that came out with the DI's onto the DO's. I added gold mica powder to parts of the seeds/fruit and splattered it onto the rest of the card. I'm now thinking that perhaps I should also have splattered it onto the white card. I may do that.

I added a car die cut of gold card and stamped a man's head onto the acetate window. The wheels are from black card. I thought it could be someone off for fun and to collect Natures Bounteous seeds/fruits of the season? OH! dear the way my mind works!

All stamps and dies are freebies from SCP magazine
black ink - Stazon
inks - DO's Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed
inks - DI's - Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy,

Floribunda

Hi Everyone, I saw this stamp and as I had a birthday "offer" from the company, I decided to get it. OH! I am so pleased I did, it will be suitable for so many occasions and is wonderful to use. It set my mojo going I can tell you.

Anyhow, I decided to ink up some watercolour card, then stencil over it in the same colours, it was just a case of stamp, emboss and enjoy, I looked closer and thought those flowers should stand out more, so I took some water and went over the roses sponging up the excess water and the colour at the same time. I love that it hasn't taken all the water and some colour has been left on the card. I just need to add a sentiment when I need a card. I'm thrilled with it, especially using different ways (for me) to add and take away colour.

stamp - Floribunda Net, Chocolate Baroque
inks - Distress Oxides, Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac
stencil - Flourishes, Imagination Crafts
embossing powder - Dovecraft Clear

After I had finished the first card I had to do another and if dinner hadn't been due, I would have done more too, still there is plenty of time now.
This is so different from the first, I stamped and embossed onto plain watercolour card, then coloured the roses with Pixie Powder, the sheen is just gorgeous, added it to a gold mirror card layer, voila finished! It seemed a cheats way of making a card, it was so quick. Again, I'll add a sentiment when I know what I will use it for.

Bloom

Hi Everyone, a very quick post today, I did this card in double quick time too.

A quick post as I have a few things I'd like to do, February and March are filled with birthdays for me. Anyhow, I hope you're all well and keeping safe, it seems a lot of the country is getting snow we have brilliant blue skies with hardly a breeze, but temperatures are just 2C this afternoon. So keep safe and no slipping on ice.

I got out a stencil I cut with the Cameo, coloured and lifted it and placed it down at different angles, in different places on my card with DO's, I then stamped 3 stamps and added Pixie Powder to the flowers and dragonfly by adding water to the powder on my glass mat and painting it on, it adds a lovely shimmer. I love this stencil effect for quick cards.

inks - Distress Oxide, Stazon

Pale flowers

Hi Everyone, I said I was working on something a few days ago, well this is it. I don't know why I wanted pale flowers, but here they are.

I had seen gold flakes added to a card here, so I decided to try and do the same, there may be a few more than I intended, but it looks OK I think. At least I have started a pot that I bought years ago and I can't remember opening! I'm going to do that this year I think, using stuff I haven't used or rarely used. I see a few other bloggers are thinking the same?

Although my die frames are new -Yeah! I know so contradictory of me, but I had to have them for layering, that's my reason anyway LOL I even have a stamp order on the way I HAD to have, what's with me? Is it lockdown causing me to veer into newish things, or old that seem new?  Is lockdown doing things to you too, apart from lack of mojo? I have been in a major slump, but a few ideas are starting to form in a "what the heck" way. Look out is all I can say!

Antique Linen, Old Paper, Pumice stone.
