Kayaking

Hello Everyone, did you think you had lost me? no such luck I'm afraid we have been busy decorating and with the heat not a pleasant experience, never mind it WILL be worth it (I hope)  We (I) decided, that as we didn't use the chimney any more, to take it down would be to offer us more room, so it's GONE, and what a difference, here's a sample of our luxurious lounge at the moment LOL.  Of course there is a bit to do yet.

Now to my card and as it's going to be entered into the Digitally Sweet challenge I am going to show it digitally before printing and after.  The theme is Sunshine & Summer, not so much of the sunshine, well it is reflected in the water!!!!  The image is one I had by Gordon Fraser at Craftsuprint, I made the water myself with PS brushes and a gradient overlay, I know, too much information, that is not understood - sorry.  I made the "wave" in PS and 3 D'd then Glamour Dusted it, I also 3 D'd the sentiment included with the image, The name etc was added to the printed page.  I love the expression on his face, really loving what he is doing, by the look of it.  I nearly forgot the recipient is also an enthusiastic Scouter and I had to include this on the card, hope the logo is enough, although you may not be able to see it, I "rippled" it so it looked like it was in the water..

I thought you may be interested to see some of my latest visitors to the garden, Starlings, Mums and their babies, making a heck of a noise too.   I didn't get a few more out of range, into the photos, incredible, something like the film "The Birds"

Sympathy card PS brushes

Hi Everyone, what wonderful wonderful weather (29c when I left work at 4.15pm) we are having, it was only last week I was cuddling up in our winter duvet because I was so cold in bed, British weather at it's best ay?  AND it's supposed to last all week whoopppeeeeee!

Lets go to the card, a friend of ours had passed on, so this was for her husband, makes one realise mortality, as he and I went through school together.

To put a bit of humour into this, my eldest brother whos is 77 when asked how he is, sometimes answers, "I have dodged the Grim Reaper for another day".  We have a sick sense of humour I'm afraid.

I had looked for inspiration on the web for a Kraft card as I haven't used any of this card before.  I saw one that made an impression while I scrolled through, and then couldn't find it again, so whoever you are, thank you. If you think it's you, please let me know and I can give you credit.

I used Textual Paper Pack by Linda Tieu for the background, then used Photoshop floral brushes and added a cross, also a PS brush glittered,  then made a border to match the background paper, printed it all out and added a velvet black bow.

I'm not entering any challenges as I have cased this card, not sure if it would be allowed.

Wedding butterflies

Hi Everyone, I am sitting here with a cardigan on, with the day looking like, apart from the flowers and leaves on the trees, a November day, dismal, but at least dry.

The washing I put onto the washing line this morning is as damp as I put it out, looks like I will have to use the tumble dryer, in the middle of July!  I ask you what is happening to our weather?  AND to cap it all my lovely SIL emails me and tells me she is sitting in the sunshine having a cuppa and watching tennis at Wimbledon, on the TV, how civilised is that?  I think we will have to move over to the East coast of England LOL.

Onto my card for today, a wedding card for a friend and as she loves butterflies, I had to include them.  Luckily I just happened to have a freebie cut file from Shirley's Cards HERE.  I resized it to fit an A4 card and used card I bought from Create and Craft, which wouldn't go through my printer, I forgot about it, until I was looking for some suitable card for this card  and it suited it beautifully.  The layered card is embossed with a butterfly folder from a magazine, which is ages ago and I can't remember which mag.  I added a silver circle covered with some net and their initials, then added more of the butterflies, I love how it turned out. Thanks Shirley for the freebie.

I shall enter the following challenges

http://oldiebutagoodiechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/butterflies.html  The net is years old, the file is from last year, the ribbon is nearly a year old, the silver card is well over a year old too. Oh! yes and so is the card. I can enter the challenge with a clear conscience.

Cycling card

Hi Everyone, A quick post tonight as it's late, I have to apologise for lack of comments, this being because I have had a lot to do, I have been guilty of seeing all your creations via email or Bloglovin, so I have been watching what you have been doing, just not enough time to comment so sorry, (hang head in shame and guilt)

Anyhow, here is my offering for you tonight.  I was asked to make a card for a fanatical cyclist on his 18th birthday.  I followed a sketch by Silke Ledlow
strip papers are by Just so Scrappy, the building background is from a digi kit Skyline by Dawn by Design at Digichick,  a sky background layered onto a circle with the building skyline also from the kit, as an overlay in Photoshop and also a bit more playing.  I downloaded a picture of a cyclist and turned him into an SVG and used some goldy brown effect card, then layered him twice in a sort of decoupage effect.  The A to B background which I have used numerous times, (it's so handy) is also part of the same digi kit. I glossy accented the A & B in the background printed directly onto the card.
