Lighthouse WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping

the theme this month being "Anything Stamped with Stencil Option".

Looking through my stamps, I decided on this lovely Lighthouse. I stamped it onto a die cut piece of card I had left over from something else, then embossed with clear powder. I masked the lighthouse and inked the background, using a stencil to enhance the clouds. The birds were stamped onto the sky, then the lighthouse was painted with DI's. Using another part of the stencil, I inked the sea in 3 different colours. Before attaching to the main card, I matched up the wave stencil again and inked through the stencil onto the card. The lighthouse was added onto the stencilled waves and card.

Not planning anything on the end result, I had to choose a sentiment. Looking at the lighthouse, I decided it was a rough day, so selected the sentiment to suit. I know the card will be ready for a "rough" time or event I will have to send a card for. Sorry the photo isn't up to standard, the weather was awful when I took it, so dark and miserable.

Hi Everyone, this is my DT card today for

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I have this wonderful Elephant in my files that I think should be used again. I also used him here.

I added the paper, the sentiment to a piece of matching colour paper and the 2 layers of elephant to the Silhouette. They were printed and cut. I then coloured the elephant with distress inks. Layered the 2 pieces together and added 3D pads. The papers were layered onto dark green card. After attaching the first layer, I decided I needed something else, and found a die I haven't used in a long time, I cut it out of the same green card as the surrounding layers. The Elephant was attached, then I decided to add a little colour to the ivy and used the watercolour pencils, without water. He is such a majestic animal. I love him.

Heart CHC

Hi Everyone, my DT post today is for

The theme for this month is "LOVE"

I cheated a bit on this one, as I had already done a slate heart, it was a present for my Niece. I had already made one each for my brothers and their wives. I don't usually give my nieces presents, but as we were seeing her over the holidays, I felt I had to, so this was the result, something for her house. I chose something to do with Wales for this, as she lives in England. I love doing things in the Welsh language. I can read it out loud, but not speak it, the shame of it. blushing!

I found this Welsh verse on the web and I designed it all in my Silhouette program, using the Daffodil our National flower and the Red Dragon from our flag.  The images were cut and the verse from different coloured vinyl and attached it to the slate. Sounds easy doesn't it? It was a bit of a so and so to get it right. As you can see with the verse letters, they kept coming off with the vinyl and me reattaching them, it doesn't look too bad, but I wish they were straighter. Well! it makes it look rustic! 😉

Croeso means - Welcome
The verse translated means -
This house runs on Love and Happiness.

slate heart - The Works
vinyl - Oracle 151
daffodil - a mix of images I have
dragon - the web
Silhouette Cameo

I hope to see you in the Challenge, it lasts all month.

I love this challenge, it makes me think outside my usual box, and make me look through my stamps to use them. Today I chose a stamp I have not been successful with before and not very today either, but I'm happier with this than before. It's a lovely stamp, but a "rubber block" that has text on the surface, I cannot for the life of me get the text. I rubbed over my ink and hoped it would help me, but nope. Anyhow, I was so keen on getting my stamp on, that I forgot I was going to add a stencil. I did the stencilling, but moving the stencil around her, so that I didn't add it over her. I also added more dandelion seed blowing away. The sentiment was stamped, also the frame around it and die cut. I added drops to the seeds. It's a shame about the main image, but I still like the card - in the end.

ink - Distress Oxide - fired brick, abandoned coral, mustard seed

Vintage, Guest spot

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the GDT at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. I was invited after entering this card.

The theme is Vintage, something I have not done in a long time. I had to go through my files and think, and in the end found the image, and a sentiment that I thought was suitably Snarky!

I cut and print the image and the sentiment 3 times from Silhouette. Then shaded and coloured the image, sentiment and doily with DI's. The Kraft card base was stencilled with DI, the doily added and the layered image and sentiment. I didn't think it was finished, so die cut some small flowers and leaves from pink card, and distressed them with DI too. Her eyes didn't stand out, I felt, so added a spot watercolour pencil to enhance them. The black had been dulled with the DI's so, I went over a few parts with a fine black pen.

I'm afraid the photo isn't as clear as I wanted, I took a few photos and this was the best, I hope my camera isn't giving up the ghost!

Nature TMR

Hi Everyone, I have 3 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -
I love Nature in all forms, well maybe not spiders, but you know what I mean. Anyhow, after looking through my stamps, I decided to use a combination of company stamps and a cut file, you should know me by now, I'm an anything goes person with my crafting. Mix and match and all that.

I have a few birthdays within the family this and next month, so I am being prepared. I have been wanting to use the "boulder" stamp for a while, not knowing what to do, then looking through my stamps I saw this magnificent stag and thought he should be somewhere tall and be proud. That's what I hope he is.

I went about this all wrong, I think, but got somewhere near to what I wanted. I stamped the stones first, then the stag, and realised I didn't have my background done, never mind, a few stencilled clouds and ink left on blending brushes were added to the background. The colours are pale ish, as I wanted the stag to be, as I said, standing proud. I added a simple sentiment and clear embossed it. The finished scene was then layered onto dark brown card.

I decided he should have at least one tree around him, so off to my Cameo and I cut a tree. I'm not a confident stamper and have problems making a scene etc.  However, I'm quite pleased with the result.

Ant & apple CCC

Hi Everyone, I have 3 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I have gone back to one of my favourite digi designers, sadly no longer trading. However I have a large amount of their images to keep me going.  The one I'm using today made me smile, so I had to use him. I also have other ants in my files and the circle is from one of them, it was just a perfect match. I designed it all in my Silhouette program, I print and cut the ant circle and my adorable ant with his apple and the sentiment, I found on the web. I cut an extra layer of the Ant, so I could colour it. The printed layer was then die cut.

I coloured him with DI's, 3D attached him to the printed layer, the circle was attached as it was. Quite a simple card, but it makes me smile. I hope it will you too.

Ant - Bugaboo
ant circle - KAagard
inks - Distress Ink antique linen, candied apple, mowed lawn, forest moss, mustard seed,

Showers of Love QKR

Hi Everyone, I've been awol, for a few days, reason? I have been so busy, with different things. I hope to catch up now.

I have 3 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

It's nearly Valentine's Day, so I decided to make a card for hubby. I chose the both images as they are what I feel. He has been a blessing through all the rain and cloudy times we have had in our lives. I selected blue for my card, as it represents the rain and the love with the hearts. Do I sound a romantic? Not really, just grateful for him. Although I am a Pisces, they are supposed to be Romantics and Dreamers.  Mmmmm.

I used both the cloud and hearts image, the sentiment and the "for you" I added below the sentiment in my Cameo program, then print and cut the card front. The cloud was printed and cut 3 times, it was layered and coloured it with DO. The background was shaded with the same colour, then all the hearts including the sentiment were coloured with a deeper blue DI, then I used 3D glaze on all the hearts. The front was then placed onto the main card. Quite simple, but I think the glaze has added a something!  Shame you can't see it.
