Hi Everyone, I had a couple of you ask if my SiL took up stamping? Sadly no, she loves what she does with Photoshop and Silhouette, she makes beautiful of cards. I was like her until a few years ago, but only since I have been on the DT of We Love Stamping I have I really got into stamping and trying to get better at it. Although I still love Photoshop and my Silhouette.
Anyhow, my card today is for hubby's Aunt, who is 100 on the 29th of this month. She is a lovely gentle soul, who still, thankfully, has her full faculties. I decided to use a stamp, that I love. It was stamped twice, turning the card to do the second, then I stamped the sentiment, embossing both with gold embossing powder. I coloured them in autumnal colours with DI's
I didn't have large enough number dies, so I measured the size I wanted and cut the 100 with the shadow in my Silhouette. I matched the green of the colouring with pearlised card and layered the front layer onto it before attaching to the base card.
For some reason the card was a little bowed, probably due to the heat gun, so I placed it under my Grand Calibur, to weigh it down and flatten it. Then horror of horrors, there must have been a small spot of glue on the card somehow, that had attached to the card. Luckily in the corner, but I couldn't get it off, so a die rescue for the corner and a top corner to match, coloured to match the main flower. I wasn't too sure whether to redo the card, but I hope it's OK and she likes it. I took the photo at a slight angle, so you can see the shine.

Just a little about the recent flooding in the UK, one of my Niece's was affected, one of those people, who had spent a lot on renovating and modernising their home, an old Water Mill. Now will have to start again, so sad for everyone impacted by Storm Babet, it certainly brought awful weather. Here are a few photos she took.

Oh my goodness Faith, how devastating for your Niece my heart goes out to her.
Have a little insight as we had it here in 2020, we had a flash flood, only a bathroom and one room flooded but the whole bottom floor of our daughters house next door was kneed deep - kitchen up a few steps survived pretty unscathed. The insurers took forever to get it sorted, about six months in total.
Your card for hubby Aunt is lovely and well concealed blip. Your doing great with the stamping.

So sorry to hear about your niece’s flood .. It’s heartbreaking. May I ask where in the country that was? As I mentioned on my blog yesterday we had a very tense 36 hours as my hometown of Chesterfield was badly flooded by storm Babet and the area worst affected was barely half a mile from where we have a second home. We wouldn’t have been able to get there or do anything and the flood map indicated “possible flooding” to within 100 yards of our property. Luckily everything was ok so far as we know, but devastating for so many people who have lost so much. Xx
The card for your hubby's aunt turned out to be quite lovely and a great save for the glue smear with those little stars. How devastating for your niece with the flood too. I hope she gets back on her feet again quickly and your scrapbook page is something she'll look back on in the future too. I love all the tiny raindrops on that page!

Beautiful card for your hubby's aunt, Faith. So amazing she has lived to 100! So sorry for your niece and her husband. How awful to spend all that time and money to have it literally washed away.
Such a beautiful card for a 100 year old lady. And how wonderful that she still has her wits. That makes it so much more bearable. Wishing her healt and happiness.

Beautiful card for a special person turning 100. I feel your pain about the little problem, but you have sorted it perfectly. No one will ever know. so sorry that your niece has been affected by the flooding. It is such a terrible thing. Some of the small villages and towns near me were badly affected. We were Ok thankfully. We are on the top of a hill, but our garage will flood when we have the really heavy downpours. The drain gets overwhelmed. It just takes ages to get things sorted after something like that and just after they had done the renovations - heartbreaking xx

Oh goodness, I am so sorry this has happened to your neice, I hope she gets her home dried out soon, it will take a very long time though I am afraid. My prayers are with her.

Your poor niece, I cannot imagine how it is.... We are on a water runway, comes in the garden from the road at the back through the garage and into the road at the front.... If ever it was blocked....
Hope they can get sorted before too long and that it doesn't drag on.

Well the card turned out beautifully Faith, I’m sure she will be delighted. As for the photos, how devastating it must be for your poor niece. We were lucky that the flooding only affected a couple of roads in our village and they were soon passable again. The scrapbook page is a great idea xx
Oh how devastating for your niece. NZ had floods like that last summer and autumn so know what that's like. Oh those beautiful floors.

It's a beautiful stamp and you've made a wonderful card with it. I think the corners enhance the design and your "mistake" is never known about.

Oh my goodness Faith, what a terrible time your niece and her husband have had. The photos are heart breaking and they must be so frustrated after all their hard work on the mill house. And to have to delay the orders for your niece's business too. They will appreciate the scrapbook page after everything has been put back together.

A fantastic card for a centenarian and the flowers frame the numbers brilliantly Faith. So sorry for your niece with the terrible storm damage, and especially as they had renovated the mill so beautifully. Your scrapbook page with all the photos and the falling rain on the background paper shows the horrendous nature of this sort of damage. x
