CAS Christmas card?

Hi Everyone, I hope you are now to the last of your Christmas shopping or at least with just a little to go, no panic shopping! As I have done in the past. I can't believe how organised I am this year, just the food for a small hamper I am doing for my SiL. She has to cope with her Alzheimer hubby and rarely goes out, so a few treats to cheer her up. I hope. The snow and ice isn't helping, we are lucky, just below freezing temperatures to cope with, so far.

Be prepared for a picture heavy post!

Anyhow, my card today came about with me wanting to stamp a CAS card and not having a clue what to do with it. I stamped the reindeer and sentiment, coloured the reindeer and wondered what to do with the sentiment. I took a brush, dipped into the green ink on my mat, that I had chosen and scribbled the colour on. It still didn't look right, so I stamped some stars and thought I should have embossed them, too late! A silver glitter pen to the rescue, it still didn't look right, so I die cut a square of pearlised card near enough to the sentiment colour and layered it. Attached to a square card, and I was pleased with the overall effect. OH! This CAS designing is hard work!

The photo gives the impression the centre is not straight, the only thing I can think of is my straightening of the card made it all wonky. You get the idea anyway, don't you?

stamps - Magazine freebies SC&P
ink- Distress Ink crushed olive, brushed corduroy, vintage photo
green pearlised card - Hunkdory
silver glitter pen - Uniball
square die - Sue Wilson Noble square dies

I thought I would show you a little of the freezing here. I love the heavy frost on the plants.

a rose flowering in December and beautiful with the frost.

a ball Chrysanthemum and the bird bath

Heuchera

Hydrangea

this is the most we have had of frost, although it has lasted a few days. I love the red morning sunlight of the trees in the background.

Poor birds without their bath! :D Amazing photos, Nature is always stunning! Here it's raining and hope there will be no frost, we aren't so much used to it.
Fabulous card, love the scribbled green behind the tree and the clean design!

I love your CAS card Faith! I think you are to hard on yourself. That is a cool sentiment stamp, love how you put the green over it to make it look more like a tree. The deer is perfect with it! The stars are a nice addition to the card. Cold here too, had freezing rain and sleet today, so trees were all icy, but luckily the roads were just wet in my area. Other areas there were accidents galore! Not good! Will be in the teens and single digits at night next week. Hope it moves out quickly! lol That rose is just gorgeous with the frost on it! Not sure I would have ventured out to get that photo, but glad you did as like I said, it is gorgeous! Of course we couldn't grow a rose right now outside if we tried! Doesn't the frost make pretty designs on plants?! Love all your photos, I can feel the cold...or am I feeling my cold?! lol Seriously, you can see how cold it is there, but it is so beautiful looking. I just have to get a few gift cards and my groceries for the Christmas meal, although if the weathermen are correct, it might be a snowy Christmas so might be eating all alone! Stay warm my friend!!! Hugs, Brenda

Gorgeous card Faith. I love how you've used your sentiment with the green tree. You've paired the greens perfectly aswell.
The frost has finished off my plants sadly. We've had -6, I really don't like the cold. Roll on spring.

Love what you did with the tree! This card came out great! Love all your frosty photos too. We're not as cold as you are getting it, but we are fluttering regularly around zero!

A lovely card with the sweet deer and pretty tree, Faith! And, all the photos with the frost are so pretty! You captured the frost perfectly. No snow here yet, but the weatherman says to be aware of a possible snow next Thursday. Take care and Merry Christmas!

Wonderful CAS card, Faithie. I hear you about how hard they are!
Gorgeous plant life photos too. They are telling us we will be in the 20's-30'sF Christmas week, we will believe it when we feel it. Been in the 40's at night and that's bad enough hahaha. Seriously, I worry about my friends across the pond. Just read where German bakeries are going out of business due to rising really high utility and wheat costs. Prayers this winter is survivable for you! xoxo

Lovely CAS design, Faith. Yes, sometimes creating CAS cards can be hard, but so worth it. Love all the photos, especially the rose. We have been having frosty mornings, too.

Gorgeous card, I love how you've done the tree. Lovely photographs too - frost is so attractive, if rather chilly. Thanks for all your lovely comments on my blog - much appreciated, Jo x

Oh wow, I love your CAS card. I always think that, by and large, the more white space, the more elegant the card looks. The faux stitching is a great addition.

Great frosty morning photos, was that minus seven? We have had temperatures that low as well. Brrrrr.

Keep warm.

Thanks for the story of how you got this card completed and I am very pleased that you got there in the end. It is a great CAS card. If you ever see things not looking straight on my cards, it is probably because it isn't straight. It has always been something I really struggle with and it drives me nuts, because I hate it xx

A lovely creation Faith. What a beautiful photo of that lovely rose, we had five inches of snow here. The rain washed it away after three days.

This is really pretty. I always struggle with CAS because I tend to pile on a lot of stuff (as you know). Thanks for sharing your wonderful inspiration.
