Gas leak plus a card.

Hi Everyone, as this is a scheduled post, I can tell you about our emergency last Friday night. My son went into the kitchen and said "Mum I can smell Gas". He's not been well recently, so we thought maybe he was smelling it "in his mind" I know strange thing to say, but he is bipolar and autistic and we expect the unexpected. Anyhow, off I go, and he was correct, there was a smell of Gas in the kitchen. Thankfully a Summer night, as it meant all doors and windows open at 11pm. I called the Emergency number and within half an hour they arrived and spent nearly an hour checking everything. They checked the meter and Yes! we had a leak, although they couldn't find anything in the house or outside, because of this they sealed off the Gas meter meaning we can't use it until the leak has been found. Our usual Gas fitter is very busy and will try to get to us as soon as possible. I hope I remember to update on when he came and the outcome? EDIT, Our Gas man came yesterday and put us all together, I had forgotten how lovely a shower is hahaha

We are left in the position luckily, where we have electric to cook, however it leaves us without hot water and a shower. So if you smell something, it could be from our household hahaha

Anyhow, my card today is another trial at CAS cards, I'm trying, don't know how successfully, but this is my “try” for today. I started with this lovely image and a sketch. I printed out the image, with a piece of patterned paper and used both to make the sketch? The image was coloured in DI's, definitely my preferred mode of colouring. I added gold ink to the pot and clear sparkle pen to the holly and ribbon, then scored two corners.

I scored lines either side of the paper which had been adhered to a piece of card and stamped the sentiment, then added the image onto 3D pads to the card. The card was then 3D'd to the main card.

image - Patti Gomez
inks - Distress Inks - pine needles, peacock feathers, bundled sage,
candied apple, wild honey.
gold ink - Kuretake
paper - A.J. Roberts
stamp - magazine freebie
sketch -  Case this sketch #287

Thanks also for your very kind offer sending your seahorse ATC.. sorry it has taken a while to reply but we have had a house full of workmen too though for planned work! I would love it if you could send me your ATC, but only if you would accept one of mine in return so it was a swap😀If you would like to do that please let me know how we can contact each other .. Your card is fabulous Faith. Those embossed lines really set the design off.
We were having a new floor fitted last year so hubby was making sure there were no nail heads proud of the floor boards and put an extra nail in one, straight through the gas pipe. Emergency gas man came within 20 minutes, cut part of the pipe out and refitted a new piece, then checked all over our house and next doors just to make sure. We've all seen recently how devastating gas leakes can be so we have a lot to be thankful for don't we x

That's a great take on that fun sketch and I love how you scored the panels with the paper in between them! It's a good thing your son knew the smell of gas and probably saved a major disaster in your home! I'm glad it's all sorted out and things are back to normal again! Take care!

Oh wow, what a dreadful predicament to find yourself in, so pleased to hear that everything worked out it the end. But nothing stops those creative urges, either creating stunning cards or updating the blog.

This a lovely CAS card and such a sweet holly tree. I love how you have split the card and added a pretty design in the centre.
