Sympathy post

HI Everyone, I had sad news recently of my first cousin who lived in Florida, she was one of the GI brides, she had been suffering with Alzheimer's Disease and had been looked after with love and real caring by her wonderful husband.

I have another 3 cousins (her brother, sister and half sister) and their families (most of whom sadly we don't know) Stateside, in Florida, Ohio and Virginia, 2 who are now in their 80's, the younger we had in the UK last year. It was so sad to speak to the elder ones, knowing we will probably not see them again and both not in the best of health.

Anyhow on to my card for them. I sent each of them Husband and Cousins the same card, but different inside. I kept it with simple layering for the post.

I coloured and paper pieced the image in PS, cut out with a die and layered onto black paper. I embossed with a wall embossing folder to carry on the wall in the image.

I thought it, an image with a British post box, would be apt for them all.

This is a lovely card for such a sad occasion Faith and the post box is a lovely touch. Alzheimers is a dreadful disease, my MIL suffered from it and is something I dread it happening to me as it is so hard on those who have to care for you xx

You have put much thought and attention to detail into the cards and I am sure that they were well received.

I'm sorry for your loss. I love this image (since not the usual sympathy image) for a sympathy card...thanks for helping me think out of the box. Like the polka dotted hat and dress.

Great idea for a unique sympathy card. Love the brick wall embossing and the British letter box! It makes for a lovely sympathy card idea and I'm sure they will both appreciate it.
