Fabulous Florals WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme from Brenda - A long post on Florals.

Fabulous Florals.

So many Floral stamps, what to choose? Most of my stamps are from a subscription magazine, that has helped me in my use of stamps.

I selected a bouquet of flowers stamp, but decided to add a mask and make it a round shape, with blue DI. I then cut it with a square die. Next I splashed some gold ink onto the base card, let it dry and added the square die florals. I didn't know where I was going, but decided to stamp separate flowers, colour them and fussy cut them, and add them to the left upper corner. Then I stamped the sentiment, which just about fit into the lower right corner. Next I stamped the bow and added that too. I'm not too sure about the flowers on the top, one minute I think I made a mistake in adding them, then I like them, they're added now so will have to be OK.

stamps - Mag Freebie Simply Cards & Papercraft #241
inks - Distress Inks, mustard seed, picked raspberry, victoria velvet, seedless preserve, wilted violet, mermaid lagoon, tumbled glass
square die - Sue Wilson Noble square dies

I can't show the insert as it has already been posted.

I hope to see your Fabulous Florals in the challenge.

Don't forget, we now require At least one stamped element on entries. Those of you like us, who love to stamp, we would still love you to enter your fully stamped entry.

Our prizes this month

I have another piccie, I'd like to share with you, I wonder if you could identify this cut flower? Admittedly, it is on the edge of being thrown out, but I didn't think it looked like its original shape and would never have thought it would fully open to this. identity below the image! I saw the flowers coming out, then hubby went cutting a shrub next to it and accidentally stepped on the 3 flowers. So I don't have a photo of them in their original shape. I put them into a vase where they flowered for 2 weeks and ended up like this. Still beautiful methinks.

they are Tulips.

Tulips would be my first guess Faith, gorgeous colour.

The gold embossing on your floral card adds a real touch of luxury along with the fresh summer colours (not the word summer - it's coming they say!).

What a pretty card you've made Faith. Love the circle idea, and heat embossing always ups the appeal on a handmade card.

Wouldn't have recognised the flowers as tulips. Bet they looked lovely in full bloom.

Beautiful floral card, Faithie!
Never would have guessed tulip except for the variegated color.
Nowadays with all the cross-propagating to get new species, I don't doubt it.

A beautiful floral card and a lovely layout. I think your tulips are the variety known as Parrot tulips.

A beautiful floral card Faith - and I would not have guessed tulip - I was leaning more towards an anemone, as you said it had been stepped on...

Such a gorgeous layout on this card Faith. Love the colour palette as well. I am no good on flower names but I was going to say Iris's but obviously I was wrong. 🤣

It's always a delightful challenge to choose from a plethora of floral stamps, especially those from subscription magazines that offer a variety of options. Your creative process of masking, shaping, and splashing gold ink adds depth and character to the card, and the stamped sentiment and bow bring everything together beautifully, despite any initial uncertainties about the flower placement.

Beautifully coloured flowers Faith and love the gold ink splatter on the background, and a pretty bow to finish. Not sure I would have spotted that they are tulips, but they must be the really crinkly edged type and they do look lovely fully open like that, which gives then a totally different look and such a pretty deep pink too. x
