Hi Everyone, another birthday in the family, it was in January, a Great Niece this time. I had an idea to try to do a watercolour effect card, not something I usually do, I always colour in the images. Anyhow, I stamped the flowers and used watercolour paper to try it out, and decided it was OK for the card. I used plenty of water with the DI's and tried to loosely colour the flowers and leaves. I die cut the paper and stamped a sentiment. Luckily, the colours I used were good for the greyish effect of the watercolour paper, which I didn't mind on the white base card.
stamps - Stamps By Me "Made With Love"
inks - Distress Inks fossilized amber, shaded lilac, wilted violet, bundled sage
watercolour card - Crawford & Black
My
second watercolour card was for a cousin, who rang me from the USA over
Christmas and let me know that she was 90 in two weeks. A quick card
was needed, so I could post it, and she had it on time, thankfully. I
decided to use the same design, but in different colours, and use die
cut numbers for her age, coloured in the same colours as the flowers.
The long swash on the F was perfect to add the numbers, I thought. Here
it is
inks - Distress Inks twisted citron, worn lipstick, fossilized amber, ripe persimmon
It's
the same watercolour card, again I didn't mind the greyish tones of it.
It all looks so different from the first card I think.
my first card - colorfuloptions yellow, purple, and green!

Looks very pretty in both colourways Faith and that's a really lovely sentiment with the scrolling font.

A beautiful design Faith, and fab in both colour ways. The floral stamp is really pretty and really suits the soft watercoloured effect xx
