Sympathy card

One of the ladies in the Craft group, lost her husband of 70 years recently and I made this card for her.

The stamp, I thought, was perfect for the card. It is part of a set of 3, I used one other here I stamped it onto textured card, also stamping the sentiment. I coloured part of the flower in Distress ink. I then die cut the image and layered it onto it onto die cut dark blue card. Both then attached to the card, keeping the monochrome colouring, I also added a dark blue bow.

I have to admit to liking it, so I made a couple more. I was glad I had, as sadly they were all used within days of the first one.

stamp - Penny Black "Delicate Florals"
sentiment - magazine freebie
inks - Distress Ink, Chipped Sapphire
textured card - a gift from my SiL.
navy card - Jelly Bean
ribbon - stash
dies - Card Making Magic

A beautifully crafted sympathy card, Faith! Must be so hard to be alone after 70 years. I recently pulled out that set & made a card! Great minds, you know--haha!

WOW - a 70 year marriage . . . that's amazing . . . and of course all the more devastating. You've made a lovely card (x3) for the sad occasion. Shame you've had cause to use them all.

Sending hugs your way,
Sarn xxx

Really elegant cards Faith. I'm so sorry they were needed but you are a lesson to us all - making sympathy cards is so much more difficult when they are actually needed; much better to make them in advance. Vicky x

Losing your mate after 70 years has to be completely devastating, but hopefully this card brought your friend some comfort. I like that you used a thinking of you sentiment instead of the normal sympathy and that cute little bow perfectly compliments that graceful flower!

That paper you used to stamp it on almost makes it look like embroidery. They turned out beautiful and I'm sorry you used them so quickly.
