Avast me hearty!

Hi Everyone, as you can imagine from my title my DT post today is about Pirates and is for

I had 2 male cards to make and this theme was perfect, for both are West Country boys/men? I still think of them as boys, even though one is 21 and one is 20. They don't know each other, hence no problem making two cards the same. I came across a Pirate speak translation site, I entered what I wanted to say and out came the phrases, handy ay? and as pirate speak originates from the West Country, I thought it was right to use it.

skull and crossbones - Apex Cuttable Designs
cut with Silhouette Cameo 2
background paper - Melo Vrijhof
scroll - Studio 4, fussy cut, 3D'd on the top and bottom
bottle - Mom Pixelscrapper 3D'd
ship - Tammy DeYoung
designed in Photoshop CS6

just wanted to show you how small the ties on the cap are,
look at the thin outer cut - fabulous!

Oh my goodness, what fabulous pirate cards for both boys! Yes, I even call Bret a boy even though he is almost 24 years old. lol He will always be a boy to me as will his friends. I love your cross bones and skull, such a cute skull to boot-love his heart eye patch and his scarf. Yes, the ties are tiny! But they turned out so cute! Loving the scroll too, but it is the sentiments that really make this card so cute. I think both guys will love their birthday cards! Hugs, Brenda

Brilliant card and thank you for the link, it's much appreciated as I hope to be making some Pirate cards myself soon.... they won't be as good as yours though.

Oh my goodness Faith, this is the best pirate card ever! I love the treasure map background with plenty of 'X marks the spot' action and all your amazing details. My favourite part though was the reference to 'Lots o' booty' which to a 20/21 year old will mean something quite different to what it means to us!!! Those young men will love you for it! Vicky x
