Steam Punk

Hi Everyone, here is my day late DT card for

SO much out of my comfort zone, BUT I did enjoy doing this card so very much, even getting myself dirty!!!! with gilding wax. I made it really dirty, by even adding pewter gilding wax around the card too, it reminded me of the days Hubby came home with his overalls standing up on their own, with the amount of grease on them, (he was a heavy haulage mechanic in his early years). Thank goodness those days are over. Shame you can't see the shine on the card.

On to my card, I laid it all out in PS, then
printed and cut the paper and images out,
the paper was embossed with a music folder,
with the edges gilded with different shades of wax. .
Then added ribbon.
I cut the gears on my Cameo and gilded them with the same wax.
Then layered onto the paper with 3D dimensionals.

My apologies to the Team for the delay in posting this.

Gear background paper Marisa Lerin at Pixelscrapper.
which was also traced to provide a cut file for the gears.

Great card Faith especially as it was out of your comfort zone. I thought those little cogs were metal when I first looked at them! I've never used gilding paste but it sounds messy! x

Chuckled reading the part about the overalls that could stand by themselves. I think all of us can remember something back in those days! Love this layered card, and gosh, on the embossing & coloring, the paper layers really look so much like fabric (at least on my monitor). Great work on the gears too. The gilding made them look quite realistic. Also love the vintage pictures. Bet you will be using the gilding paste again. My efforts using what products I have, didn't yield something this nicely done! TFS

Fantastic card Faith and when I saw the theme steampunk I said yep out of her comfort zone but you have proved that whatever you do you do it beautifully and this is no exception. Had to laugh at you saying your husbands overalls stood up on their own soooo funny.

Haha, love your bit about the overalls. Reminded me of playing outside, and when we came in, our jeans would be so frozen they could stand up on their own, so funny! Such a wonderful card Faith! I love the music notes embossing in the background and the amazing blend of colours from dark to white! Fantastic images, and the metal gears are fabulous additions. A fantastic masculine card!! sending hugs :)

What a fabulous masculine card Faith! I love how your "dirtied" it up. lol And I know all about clothing standing up on their own!! Hubby worked at a brick and block plant fixing all the equipment and would come home to work on the farm equipment-so lots of grease for me too! Then with 6 boys as well...well I went through a lot of washing machines! I so love the images you used on this card, they are so cool looking....the whole card is cool looking and you can never go wrong with gears! I hope you can see or read The Shack, it is such a good book on forgiveness. There are a few books with that title. This is one where tragedy confronts eternity. Written by William P Young. Very, very good read! Hugs, Brenda

Such a great male card, love how you added the images.
Great colors too/ Your background looks like you used stencils, but i guess it is psp.
It is beautiful.
