Glass

Hi Everyone, I've not been crafting much, but saw a challenge and thought seeing as I hadn't shown you these, I would add them here and enter the challenge. they were just a little gift for my brother and SiL when they came to visit before Christmas. I've done a few etching, so expect another soon!

quotes are from Creativefabrica, which I added to the design space in Silhouette using  Oracle 651 vinyl,
cut on the Cameo 2 as a stencil, then added to the glass  and using Armour Sketch cream to etch.

the boxes were made by me measuring the glasses and
cutting the box out with the Cameo 2 the bow is a Silhouette Store Design

Polar Bear and Ice!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Limited Runs FB page progressive challenge.  I think this bear is one of the cutest I've seen, but had to see him on/in some ice, hence the sentiment.

Stamping and watercolouring!

Hi Everyone, my card for

I  had a looky through my files, then the stamps I have and decided on the bird on a spade handle! It took me a while to put it together as the theme is snow, so I tried, what a lot of you do, and watercolour brushed the background. I have to say I am pretty pleased with myself, it's something I have tried over and over to do and failed, but it seems to have worked on this background, I even masked the bird and handle off, to do it. I may make a stamper after all - well, maybe! I can only hope.

I then decided to add a snow background with a stencil I have, but it didn't work, so I used a glue pen through the holes and added silver glitter, I thought it may have spoiled it, so I added white pen onto the glitter, mmmm! it seems to have hidden a bit of glitter. I cut it all out using a die added it to silver mirror card and it was done.

(The card looks curved as I hadn't flattened it in my Calibur, before taking the photo.)

Blue Tit bird, handle, see head and sentiment - magazine freebies.
snow stencil - magazine freebie
Distress ink colours - Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed, Gathered Twigs
glitter - Nuvo silver
white embossing pdr - Papermania
die - Card Making Magic

Newspaper!

Hi Everyone, my card today is a birthday card for my #3 brother, he was 80 a few days ago. I have had this newspaper template many years, just fill in the spaces with your own stories and pictures.

Photos and stories are self explanatory, I had fun putting this together in Photoshop and he enjoyed it too. I hope you can see some of the stories, they are true and fun.

here is the bottom news story, hopefully a little easier to read.

I used a few layers to make it look like a folded newspaper. -
It worked as he tried to get it off the 8x8 card LOL.

A tip, if you press ctrl  and roll your mouse wheel forwards, it will make the screen larger, if you then press ctrl and roll your mouse wheel toward you, it will go back to normal. You can then see it all clearly. - hopefully LOL.

Bloom stamp

Hi Everyone, a stamped card today, who would have guessed? Anyhow I saw this gorgeous bloom and die on offer at Dies to die For and I thought yep! I have to have it. 95%, if not more, of  my stamps are mag freebies, so it was a treat to buy this. I'm so pleased I did, I used different browns of Distress inks and was really pleased how it turned out.
I stamped and although I also have the die, I left it flat and then dry embossed piece of card and layered with the darker brown.

I hope everyone is safe and sound with all the extreme weather going on around the world, we are in the throes of storm Brendan, although it passed us last night, it has left high winds and heavy rain in its wake. It's only 2.30pm but more like 6pm with the darkness of the clouds and the amount of rain we are getting. I think we could give quite a few days of rain to Australia and California and not miss by it.

Majestic Bloom stamp set - Altenew
Ranger distress inks - sorry I have forgotten which browns I used.
sentiment stamp - magazine freebie
embossing folder - Embossalicious
sequins - stash

20th and 21st

Hi Everyone, two (or even 3 LOL) cards for the price of one today. I saw a card from Vicky's blog and thought, ah! a nice quick and easy card for me to copy for for two G-Nephews, who don't know each other. Well I can only admire Vicky for her card as I didn't find it easy at all!

Here is my first attempt, I'm not happy with these, they were printed and stars left over from Christmas makes added, with Nuvo drops.

I had another go and these were the results.
I used  my WRMK foil pen with Silhouette after printing them. Then added stamped beer glasses, a magazine freebie, coloured with watercolour pencils. I'm still not sure about the cards, but they are the ones I sent. (I forgot to take a photo of the 20th card!) I think maybe I'm not a CAS card maker, I always want to add something else. Oh! Well. Thanks for the inspiration Clare.

Beer glass

Hi Everyone, our first challenge of the New Year and it's -

My eldest brother has his birthday soon and I decided to give him something personal, we only give little gifts, so an idea, when I saw this glass in a supermarket, came to me.

Using my Silhouette Cameo and some Oracle 651 vinyl I cut out the design I made in the Cameo design space. I added it to the glass with transfer paper and when it was all stuck with no bubbles, I added Etchall cream to the design on the glass, I left it for 15 minutes, although the instructions say a minute or two, I like to make sure it's really got on the glass. I removed as much of the paste as possible back into the container to be reused, then washed off the remaining cream and removed the vinyl. This is the result, it's so difficult to get a decent photo, the only way I could do it was to place it on my knees. I think I should have washed it properly before taking the photo LOL.

I placed a beer bottle inside and wrapped it.

I thought it so funny how the glass has distorted my knees, they are rounded I promise!

New baby first Christmas

Hi Everyone, I don't think I have shown you much of what I made over Christmas, so thought I would pop in with this. I made them for our new baby Owen, who thankfully, after a traumatic birth, Mother and baby are doing well.

I also made an insert for the box, top and bottom,
so that the ball wouldn't move about in the post.
box - blossom box - SVGcuts.
dragon - bought, but Owen  name, added in Heat Transfer Vinyl cut with Cameo 2
Card -  cut file Lori Whitlock
polar bear - Creativefabrica
bauble bought - filled with false snow and Dragon Flag printed and cut out
with "Nadolig Llawen" added - meaning Happy Christmas in Welsh",
it hangs so moves within the bauble.
snowflakes - various files,
cut with Cameo 2 in white vinyl and added over the bauble.
Name and year - cut with Cameo 2 and added to bauble.

Carrying on showing you Owen, here he is at 1 week old, a digital scrapbook page I did, very quickly and simply. His Mum likes simple things.

Postman

Hi Everyone, here's a card I made for our fun postman. He delivered a couple of rolls of foil that had opened slightly, he apologised, I just said "that's fine it's my plaything!" He opened his eyes and said "OK then", I corrected his thoughts and told him they were for making crafty things. He went off laughing! SO, I thought I had better make a card with the offending crafty foil.

I coloured the image in Photoshop CS6 and added it to a digital paper with a sentiment just for him. When he came next, I gave it to him saying I had added the crafty stuff! He had a great smile, which made it worth it. :)

this shows the foil with a shine added in Silhouette to the digitally coloured image, which was printed and the foil added and cut in the next step. I added a darker layer to line up with the same, but, larger paper. It's been so difficult to get decent photos recently, with heavy rain and dark days. With nights starting to stretch out, hopefully it will get easier.
