Hippo get well!

Hi Everyone, I have the most exciting new for me anyway, I have been a fan of of Paulette at Create with TLC for a number of years and you may have seen me taking part as Guest Designer recently in her blog hop. WELL - I am thrilled to say that I have had the chance to become one of the DT and I am over the moon.

My card today so happens to include the sentiment from Create with TLC, it is a Get Well card for a friend of mine who was on an away day, helping people with arthritis to get around (she's nearly 80 but quite active). She had a bad fall and was taken into the local hospital where she had an emergency operation to insert a new hip! her husband had to travel 200 miles and stay in a B&B until she could come home 10 days later, after succumbing to a chest infection after her operation.

Anyhow the card - you know when you say you have uninked stamps? well this is one of a few hundred (at least) of digital stamps I haven't used. It's by Anne Fenton, I have had it for 5 years, shame on me.  I thought it apt with the sentiment from Create with TLC and a note added from me! I hope the cheery colours in the DP's by Melo Vrijhof cheer her up and get her on the road to recovery.

Brighten my Day!

Hi Everyone.

It seems like my faux vellum card from yesterday needs a tutorial, so I will be adding a tutorial page soon.

My card today is for the Progressive Challenge at Outlawz, the lighthouse has been drawn beautifully by Laurien at the Outlawz. I digitally coloured the image and was then stuck with what to do for the background. I suppose I could have left it and made it a truly CAS card, but it didn't seem right to me, so went searching my files - again! - for sea images.

I came across a picture from a magazine that used to give out digital images and this was amongst them, it's a lovely scene but I didn't want "real life" image with the lighthouse. I recently learned how to create a sketch from a photograph, so that is what I did, and it turned out exactly how I wanted it. I added a sentiment from Create with TLC. After printing onto basket weave card, I added 3D gloss to the lighthouse.

Vellum?

Hi Everyone, my card today is very simple and is for the progressive challenge at the Digistamps4joy FB page. We have had a lovely floral corner digital image, which I, for some reason, wanted to have as a white embossed stamp on vellum. I found a way in PS and I am thrilled with the result. I can now have a digi "stamped" in white onto any background, any of you want to know how, give me a shout!

I used a CAS design, as I wanted the focus to be on the stamp and the glittered vellum! Both of which are digital. After printing, I cut them out and layered them onto the base paper and added a sentiment using the same effects as the main image. then added pearls to hold down the "vellum".

This closeup shows the "glittered vellum"!

Spaceman in a frame!

Hi Everyone. Firstly I have to say thank you to my new followers, I appreciate your support and your encouragement to me, I hope you will like what I have for you. Big hugs to ALL of my followers, you Very Special people, who share my blog and the things I attempt.

Now onto what you have come here for. My son wanted me to colour a "manga" image for him as he loves the images. I have done this for his 40th birthday which comes up in a couple of weeks. I went online to see what I could find and found this. He is a "gamer" so this is just up his street. He rarely visits here, so he shouldn't see it.  I HOPE! LOL

You know I colour digitally which I love to do, but this was out of my scale completely, it was so very detailed. Luckily the artist (Link below) had painted it, so I attempted to copy his work, "attempted" being the operative word. I got nothing like the detail he had, but I was happy with it.

I have learned a lot about digital colouring with this, BUT so much more to learn. I used 25 layers and LOTS of hours to get this effect, I should think the artist probably used at least 3 times that.

The background frame was done with assorted PS brushes, which were colours picked up in the painting. Hope you like this VERY different project. I've added the photo and the original painting, as the details are not good, because of the glass reflection. (I tried every room in the house and outside to get a decent photo)

Cat's!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz Sketch challenge and the Twisted Thursday "Make Something Funny" well it gives a smile!

I used ready coloured cat and mouse and added paw paper by Laurie Furnell, which I had at PC Hugware a long time ago. The girl and cat is from Dearie Dolls, that I digitally coloured to match the centre image, the "meow" paper is an overlay from Pixelscrapper. The girl and mouse on the ball are 3D'd.

Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, you know I don't usually do scrapbook pages, but occasionally something comes up and I find it something I have to do. Today I have a photo of my Mum, taken days before she had a small stroke and went into hospital in February 2004, she never came out, she had a fatal stroke and died in the April aged a wonderful 91. She is with the eldest of her grandchildren. I enlarged the photo for the centre panel and used blending options of "luminosity" and opacity of 42% .
Of course you know what means LOL.

The papers are the current Dragon Lair Sunday Showcase freebie kit. Girlz World. It's a digital layout with a template by Our Misadventures.

Just Chickin' on you!

Hi Everyone the challenge at The Male Room is

I have gone for something I think is quite different, for me anyway, to match with the red and blue. I chose beige!

I coloured and paper pieced the chicken in PS. I added chicken wire behind him, I did a print and cut on the Cameo of the the shaped circle and extra layers of the chicken, wings, beak, wattle and comb, adding an off cut to make them sticker like.  I did a play on words with the sentiment. I added embossing to the red paper and a little heart to the check paper. Hope you like my unusual colour combo.

The digital stamp chicken was a freebie by Heartily Farm at Cuddly Buddly
Heart die was a freebie from a magazine
chicken wire is from Pixelscrapper
I think the paper is from Pixelscrapper
For some reason I didn't save the file, except in my Silhouette files and that doesn't tell me who designed the papers or the circle shape.  I could kick myself. Sorry.
