lampshade

Hi Everyone, I am so sorry not to have commented on many of your projects or cards, it really is because I am flat out and getting no where, we have my Brother and SIL this weekend so everything had to be packed up, so we could have a bed to sleep in.  The fair is next Saturday and I have made 1/2 of what I made last year and last year I sold it all, I feel like I am in trouble!

Anyway as my SIL has gone to bed early with cold symptoms and is not well, I have a few minutes to play, so thought I would let you see another of my "makes" for the craft fair.  I made a pattern in PS from a fabulous holly digi from Digistamp Boutique printed on printable vellum, I added ribbon to the top and bottom of the shade and a ribbon tied around the stem of the wine glass. I added a tealight inside of the glass with the base wrapped in the vellum, I think you may be able to see it.  It seems to be very popular already.

I shall enter the following challenges hope this is OK for an entry.

Poster for the boys!

Hi everyone, a quick post to let you know I am still here but still VERY busy, I think it was the worst (or best?) that I took samples of my craft fair into work.  I have a table there in December and orders coming in like crazy, the problem is I have a table in the church in a couple of weeks and I can't keep up with making things, so for the next few weeks I won't be here very often.  I expect people want silly stocking fillers as I have done.

Here is a sample of one very popular item.  I downloaded the gift label from HERE as it has a perfect image and sentiment for the gift.  I was lucky enough to buy the ribbon from a garden centre we stopped at one time, sorry can't remember where, but it was 96 meters yes 96! for £10.00.  Wish I had bought another one now, at the time I didn't know I was doing the fairs.

I'm also adding a poster I have done for "the boys" in work for their night out, I have left it as it is on PS as I haven't printed it out yet, of course I have obscured the place they are meeting.  The men and label are a freebie from Papercraft and Inspiration Magazine the digi paper background is paper 1 from the digi kit "bohemianfall" by Vero.  The shapes are default in PS with a gradient overlay

SO I am doing other things as well as making - whew!

Hope you are all well and getting ready for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

60th birthday friend

Hello Everyone, a short post as time is of the essence LOL.

I just wanted to post a card I did very quickly last night, AND to show I am not slacking LOL.

I had an email with apologies at 5.30 last night to let me know that a friend's birthday was on Wednesday and would I make a card for her so that it could be delivered with the flowers we are sending to her, (she is also off sick atmo). It meant that it had to be taken into work today AND Strictly Comes Dancing was at 6.30 aaarrrggghhh!  Well this is what I managed to do after going through a lot of files for something to "click".  The paper is from Miriam Freebies, I added a ribbon, which is practically the same colour, why does that happen when a photo is taken?  and added another layer to the flowers, oh! yes and a bit of net to finish off.  It actually looks much nicer IRL.

I'm not entering any challenges as it's too quick a post to see if one suits!

Hope you all have a good week.

Craft fair make and to make

Hi Everyone, just thought I'd come and show you what a hive of activity (mess) I have in my spare bedroom craft room, there are things made and to be made, as for the wine glasses, no they are not for a party, but to sell with shades I am making.  When I have made a few I'll show you, but at the moment, I have to get on!

Have a happy Halloween :)

Halloween birthday card

Hi Everyone, sorry for my absence, hope you missed me!

I have made a mass of items for my craft fair for the church, whew! one of the girls in work asked me to bring in some of what I had made, I took a few samples and then had orders given to the girl I had taken them in to see, which now means MORE work, not that I'm sorry more the merrier for funds :)

Anyhow, I am posting a card today I made for yet another niece, her birthday is on the 30th and this year thought I would take the Halloween route for a change.  She is over 40 so the poem is one I know she will enjoy.   The image is from Elizabeth Dulemba, you know I LOVE using her images.  I didn't want to just write Happy Birthday on the front, so went in search of a poem I could use and found this one by Joe Donnelly on Family Friend Poems HERE  I think it suits the little witch perfectly, the one on the card that is LOL.  ( I contacted Joe Donnelly for permission to use his poem, you should visit the site just to read the remainder of the poem, it is so funny.)  Sorry wrong link, but I have updated the link to the poem

I added a circle to represent the moon, (or the sun for the poem) then used a gradient to do the background, I used a paper that I had designed, with an overlay I have had for yonks and yonks for her coat, then 3D'd the image and added sparkle. I think it is generally known as "fussy cutting" now.  Quite simple really.

I will enter the following challenge

HELP template wanted

HI everyone, sorry I've been so busy preparing craft fair stuff I haven't been able to comment or blog, even though I have a few cards to show.

This post is a cry for help.

I need an svg file for a box to hold 4 tealights in a long box .  Yes I know there a few drawn templates out there, and I have spent quite a bit of time trying to make one into an svg. I have made one, but it is quite time consuming even though it is cut on my machine however I would like simple!!!!! so that I can make more than the six I made yesterday, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very thankful.  I have made a box for 4 by just using a 111mm square box and adding a shaped cut out for the top, then scoring with the Crafters Companion box maker, it has worked well, but for some reason I can't get the long box to work the same, any ideas or templates I could use.

Thanks for your time.

EDITED 18th October  - Well what a plonker, I have told you I made a square box with Crafters Companion box maker, and then ask for help for the other box, I went to bed and had a Eureka moment, and made a box to size in the same style as the square one, can't believe I panicked about it.  I will transfer the size into my program and make a cut out to fit the top.  Sorry folks.

Birds Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, we have had the most beautiful day, a cold wind but oh! the sun just wonderful!

Anyhow a quick post tonight. I have been trying all week to do something for the challenge and finally with hours to spare I have done something.  It's a digi scrapbook page, I'm not too good at scrapbooking, so I have used a template and as I have a short time to enter the challenge it is a literal template page.  The template is by The Shabby Shoppe. The photos are the birds in my garden and the papers are from Summertime Designs.

I am entering the Digitally Sweet Challenge Anything with Wings.
