Orchid box card

Hi Everyone, something different for me today! I have made a box card, something I have been meaning to do, but browsing the Silhouette UK blog, I came across Janet Packer, who is clever with her cutting and tutorials, and found this card. I used her tutorial on how she did them in vellum and I'm thrilled with the result even though she used heavyweight vellum and I only had 100gsm.

This went to my eldest SiL, I'm glad to say she was thrilled.

Card template cut file - Simply Crafty SVG's
vellum - Crafters Companion printable vellum 100gsm
I coloured the flowers and marked the leaves with Spectrum Noir markers.
The green card is by Tonic
wood effect embossing folder - Crafters Companion

I made another to show my No 3 SiL, when they visited, how I did it, and an excuse to make it for my neighbour so I didn't miss her birthday. I'm a little disappointed by my colouring on the leaves, but they look better at a distance!

background paper - Designs by Brigit at Scrapbookbytes
rest as above.

Watercolours

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the
you know me I'm a digi girl, but I pulled the stops out and used watercolour pencils to achieve this card, I even "real" stamped. I have limited stamping supplies, so used a silver embossing powder, I'm not sure it worked, but I went with it. I also stamped the sentiment. I used the stamping platform I have bought to help me with my stamping, I have never had a good result, so I hope this will help me.
bird and sentiment - freebie from magazine
dies - Tattered Lace pin dot
gems - stash

I then went on to make a "watercolour" digital effort and this is it. Very different the centre panel is 3D'd.

Stamping!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, just a post to let you know I have decided to really try "Stamping". I am a digi girl at heart as my card making started in the 1990's with the Printmaster Platinum DVD going on to Photoshop many years ago.

What decided me? well I have subscribed to a card making magazine and they give freebies each month of stamps and dies, so I now have a growing selection that I haven't used. Hence last week buying a stamp platform with some birthday money. Here is my first attempt. used in conjunction with my Cameo to make the box from a card pack by Craft Sensations. The box was for a present.

here is another trial for another present, with a recycled bag.

this is the present inside the bag,
a glass I embossed with the help of my Cameo.

I thought I would share a photo of our crocus last week.

Pig Out

Hi Everyone, I made a card for a Nephew in Law, BUT, I lost the card I made, (this one) and had to find one I had already done to get it into the post, 2 days later I moved a magazine and there it was - grrrr! LOL, at least the one he got I liked anyway and it was suitable. However there is always another Nephew in Law or male in the family to send a card, and this will go to - Yep! another nephew (in law) LOL

Hi Everyone a quick post today to enter the Limited Runs FB progressive challenge. We were given this fabby chicken, I was looking through the web for chicken quotes and saw a cartoon, that I have cased. It's a one layer card. I could have done more with the background and the layering, but you know what? it worked as it was so I went with it.

Birthday card

Hi Everyone, firstly I have to apologise if I haven't caught up with you yet, I am trying (some people say very trying LOL) BUT you Ladies are being so very creative and time takes over before I can complete my visits, hopefully it won't take too long for me to catch up with you.

My card today started with the sketch at the Outlawz, it was great inspiration for a card I had to do for hubby's cousin. Now it's made 7 days before I need it, whoopppeee LOL.

I did this from a digital kit, I find when I use a kit, that all I have to do is pick which elements go with which paper I choose and it all matches beautifully, and so many choices too.

kit "Another year has gone" - Valentina at Digital Scrapbooking Studio
designed in PS
all layered onto white card (for a change)
sentiment 3D'd
sentiment, oval and border, print and cut on the Cameo
oval border - Lori Whitlock "Kraft borders"
oval is actually a circle border I "squashed" to become an oval,
in PS, I "clipped" a paper to the shape to match everything else.
a little yellow sparkle pen on the flower centres and candle flames

the insert is blurred - sorry, but it gives you an idea of what I did.

this is the sketch for this week

Thank you

Hi Everyone,  my second post today, firstly, I have to thank everyone, for their kind birthday wishes, it wasn't a special one, that was last year, but I have been overwhelmed with wishes, presents and lovely thoughts. I have to also apologise for my lack of visits too, it's been a very busy time here, it actually felt like a special birthday, but as my SiL says to me at our age every birthday is Special!  More to come in later posts! IF you can stand it LOL.

I have to especially thank Hetty for her thoughtfulness in sending me a beautiful Daffodil digi kit, now I wonder where she got that idea mmmmmm. She also sent me a beautiful digi card, I think from the same kit, that she made up herself. I printed it out and it looks 3D and very beautiful, well done Hetty and thank you so much.

This morning I received a parcel from LisaLynne of what can only be described as a craft haul, it is so very generous, I was so surprised and excited to receive a parcel, I didn't know was coming LOL. I can't thank you enough.

I think that I shall be busy using these beautiful gifts.
Thank you again Ladies and for making me feel VERY special.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge, and today I am more than grateful for this sketch, as it was just perfect with a slight alteration for the card I wanted to make for our Godson.

He and his parents are going on a cruise for his 50th birthday, so I wanted to make something that was relevant and I think this is. I slipped up on the placement of the port hole, it should have been slightly higher, but I think the male of the species won't notice? I hope LOL. I also added acetate to the centre of it and added gold glitter pen to the "screws".

background and insert paper - Lettering Delights

Easter bunny

Hi Everyone, I missed the Dragons Lair Progressive challenge, by one day, I can't believe it, as I coloured and finished this card just a day or two after I had the image, where is the time going?

This card is going to Dorothy, the new beautiful baby girl, in our family, she is just 5 months old. We had her visit in January, her first visit to us, (they live in England,) so we decided to give her her first Easter Egg. Her parents owned up to eating it that night! LOL. Well at just 3 months old, I guess a little early for chocolate? She can at least have a card, so here it is.

Clown

Now on to my second post of the day for
Morgans Artworld
where you can show off your work.

You still have time to enter the challenge, here is my card for the
Anything Goes Challenge.
Clown image - Morgans Artworld
coloured in PS.
dp's stars - Melissa Riddle
orange stripes - Melo Vrijhof
background white stripes - Melissa Lerin
all at Pixelscrapper
sentiment found online
ribbon - Dovecrafts

A little story about the colouring, I spent over 4 hours doing it in PS, I was thrilled with it, then a slight lack of concentration and it was ALL gone. I could have cried. Next day I got back to it, but I have to admit it isn't as good as the first one, sadly. Lesson learned AGAIN! I should save as I am going along, then I would have had the best to show you here.

I wanted to do this new image by Morgan as soon as I had it, not one I would normally go for, but it called out to me. I just got down to colouring as I had some free time and went for it, without a thought of anything else. I used orange layering to keep it bright and cheerful and found the wonderful sentiment on the web.

Happy St Davids Day

Sorry the text is so small it was as large as I could get to have as much information as I tried to let you know about St David's Day.

I hope you all have a lovely day, no matter the weather!
'cause it's VERY cold here.
