Anything Christmas WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping.

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Anything Christmas

I have so many stamps and couldn't find one I wanted to use, so I used a digi. Looking through my Christmas files, I found some lovely paper, I thought it would be a change for me to add an image. The papers, the frame, and the images were taken into Silhouette to cut out.

I coloured the hedgehogs with DIs, attached the background paper to gold mirror card, which was then attached to the base card. The cut out frame was 3D'd onto the main image, and then placed onto the base card. I decided to add some gems, that was the card finished.

Not a christmas Turkey CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

With no idea what to do this month, I went through some digis I have, and came across a chicken that I had to do. I took it into Silhouette, I added a bag design and clipped chicken wire paper to it, the bag and 2 images, in case of a mistake. I also added a made up a sentiment to the corner of the bag. They were print and cut.

The chicken I coloured with marker pens, I also added a piece of holly cut at the same time. It'll come in handy for one of those little gifts I give.  As you can see, they are all old images. That's the way my mind is working at the moment.

Again, thank you all so much for your continuing support. I'm not on the 'puter much. I am trying to visit, but it's hard at the moment. Thank you again. xx

Birthday Boys

Hi Everyone. I've been trying to make birthday cards in advance and these easy ones came together quickly for our Nephews, they don't visit here, so I'm OK to share them. I don't like to make cards the same for everyone, but things as they are at the moment I had to try to do easy, but different, although the same, if you get what I mean?

Anyhow, they were both die cut from white card and layered onto matching card. I cased the image on the package for the design, just different colours. I then went into Photoshop and looked through my files to see if I had balloons similar to the card colours. Luckily I found some, they were added to the insert design, a verse was added then both printed and inserted into the card.

As I said nice and easy, no thinking as such, and I had 2 cards, but different for the boys birthday.

Acorns WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping.

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Anything Autumn

It was my SiL's birthday a few days ago, and as I had shown her how an embossing folder worked on a recent visit, I thought I would include one on her card.  I wanted to use a new embossing folder with leaves, and leave it white, but, it needed some colour. I added some to the folder and placed the already embossed sheet into it. It produced a feint effect of colour, which I liked.

I used the same colours on the leaves after stamping them with green. The acorns were stamped and coloured, then both were fussy cut. I cut a strip of white and stamped the sentiment. Then left it a couple of days, thinking what to do next.

I thought a touch of ribbon? So off to my ribbon drawers, and I came across the hessian.  Of course, I had to use that. I cut it to fit the sentiment piece of card. I glued the embossed piece onto the base card, then added the hessian and sentiment piece.  Next I added the leaves and acorns to the top corner and placed just the acorns onto the bottom, beside the sentiment.

Another simple card, even using similar colours as my first challenge card this month for the WLSC.

stamps - Magazine freebies SC&P
inks - Distress Inks, mustard seed, twisted citron, ripe persimmon, carved pumpkin
embossing folder - Lisa Horton, Fancy Foliage.

I just have a few words to add. Thank you all for your continuing support, whilst hubby isn't well.  xx

Pumpkins WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

We Love Stamping.

This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Anything Autumn

I only have a few Autumn stamps, but had to use these pumpkins. They were stamped and coloured with DI's. I didn't feel they were enough on their own, even on this CAS card. So I stamped some leaves on digital autumnal paper, I added more DI's of the same colours, on top of the paper, that was better, I then fussy cut each leaf and flower arrangement.

Next, I die cut a square and stamped the sentiments onto it. Then I die cut an orange square, and attached them both. I 3D'd the pumpkins onto the background and did a simple placement of the leaves behind them. A very simple card, that maybe I could have added more, but I liked the simplicity. I hope my friend will too.

Baby Boy TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

I haven't made a baby card in a couple of years, and was thrilled to make one. I had a couple of stamps, but went to a colouring page by someone I have been a follower of for years. I just love her images, and I had a choice in my files, but decided to go with this cutie. Also, we have a local singer comedian named Max Boyce, and he got the crowds going by saying oggie oggie oggie. This image has a similar saying? So I had to go with it.

I print and cut the image with Silhouette on watercolour paper. Then coloured it with Distress Inks. I had a design in mind with a heart, but it didn't work out, so I print and cut a heart with the "oogie oogie" on it, again with Silhouette. I had this "It's a Boy" stamp for a long time, so stamped it onto the heart. Next, I layered the 2 layers of the baby and 3D'd it onto the heart. I used a die heart and sentiment and added it with a split pin, don't know when I used one of those last either.

I was going to leave it at that, but for some reason it didn't look right, I die cut some textured card, and ink blended it. Then embossed it with a background I had made with Silhouette an age ago. I cut 3 layers of the hearts and then glued them together. Next, I embossed the layers onto the inked background.  The colour isn't quite right in the photo, but near enough.

CCC Fishes

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

Looking through my files I found these fish, that I have had a long time but not used, so many files I have in the same predicament.

Anyhow, I took them into Silhouette, chose some coloured paper and cut them out. I also did the water layer and the sentiment at the same time. I'm sure I saw the sentiment on the web at some time.  Then what was I going to do with them? I decided to paint the water with DI's, spreading with a wide brush the colours across the background in a wavy pattern.

The fish were then glued together, with a 3D glaze over the top layer and added wobbly eyes. I thought they needed more, so I die cut a background frame for the water layer and the sentiment. All were glued together and attached to the base card.

Make it Cute WLSC mid month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Mervi of

Make it Cute

With 2 prizes each of two House Mouse stamps

Cute?  I didn't know what to do for my mid month card, so I went with digital stamps and found this little HoneyBee, who I love, but haven't used before, although I had him in 2017. Anyhow, I had some hexagon dies, and I decided on this digital image of a House dripping in honey for the background. However, I decided it would overwhelm him, so I added plain vellum over it to dilute the strong colour it has, then cut both with the die. They were attached with a spot of glue on each corner.

I looked through more dies to see if I had one I could emboss, and this was the closest to a hexagon. It was embossed, the hexagon was attached, then I thought another hexagon for the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment, then thought, it needed some honey mess around the edge of the layer. I didn't mean for so much, but went with it. Both were added to the embossed card and attached to the base card.

Honeybee was cut in 3 layers with Silhouette. I then coloured him with DI's. I added some glitter pen to him and his wings. He was then added to the card, I decided he required some companions, so I found some bee stamps, coloured them and added glitter pen, fussy cut them and placed them onto the card.

Comments

In the last few weeks, my comments have been short and sweet, if I got a chance to make any at all. I have done a few DT posts in advance though.

The reason, is my darling hubby of 59 years is receiving chemotherapy.  I won't go into details, but I felt you needed an explanation for my absence and lack of comments.

Please pray for him.

Thank you.

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Mervi of

Make it Cute

With 2 prizes each of two House Mouse stamps

Well I had to use a HM stamp didn't I? I die cut the card square layers, then stamped the images and sentiment. I used DI's to colour them all. Next, I used a glitter pen on the candles and the hat. The bottom layer card was swiped with the pink over the edge, I didn't want a full colour and quite like the effect. They were glued together and attached to the base card. A simple and easy card. And easy for the post too.

Create your own background TMR

Hi Everyone, my card today is for

I had a card to make for our neighbour, so went looking through stamps and my digi stamps and found Ted. I've used him a couple of times, and cased one of my cards here, our neighbour loves his garden, it was for his 82nd birthday.

I took Fred into Silhouette and cut him 3 times, the background twice, in case I made an error, you know I hate fussy cutting!  I coloured the background in DI's, adding a few bushes in the garden, then some grass and sky. All layered onto a die cut circle. Ted was coloured, and the 3 layers glued together and added to the background.

CCC Fun Pigeon

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had this stamp sitting on my desk for over a week, deciding what to do with him. I looked online for some ideas and found a saying, which meant I went straight to the stamp knowing what to do, the longest time was making the envelope and framed saying.

I stamped him on a piece of card I had in my scraps box, then decided on a different for me, generic background. Next, I stamped the "dots" and used DI's in masculine autumnal colours to blend over them. He was coloured in the same colours apart from his crop. I used 3D glaze for his beak and eyes and white pen for the cere, I didn't know the name of it, so I looked it up! I then stamped some birds to keep him company. He was attached to red card and onto the base card, that I had stamped with the sentiment.

Seeing as he is a homing pigeon, I added the envelope and message he brought home. The envelope and saying was done with Silhouette, printed then cut and scored. I then placed the saying inside the envelope and attached it to the card. His eyes were then 3D glazed.

pigeon stamp - Funky Fossils "Who are you looking at?"

Autumn

Hello Everyone.

I had a birthday card for a Great, Great Niece, I used a digital stamp, I've had since 2011. I thought it about time she was used, and it looks slightly like my GGniece, so I took her into Silhouette and cut her out 3 times, in case of mistakes colouring her.

I went looking online for blending shades for autumn and came across, what I thought was an unusual mix of colours, so I went with it.

Firstly I coloured the pumpkins, then everything elseI added white Posca pen to the lace on her socks, her buttons, and her eyes.  Next I die cut 2 dies and turned one, then layered and coloured together. A piece of rose gold mirror card was placed under them and stuck to the card. The mirror card was also used for the age and spots, placed randomly. I don't have rose gold embossing powder, so I used gold, it is an autumnal colour after all. I'm not 100% sure of this card, but I don't think she will notice a couple of mistakes.

Flowers mid month WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme chosen by Hilary of

Flowers

Our prize this month is a £25 store voucher from Personal Impressions (inc pps, winner meets costs of any additional spend). Personal Impressions is one of the UK’s leading brand managers/wholesalers/distributors in the arts and crafts industry, specialising in mixed media, papercrafts, card-making, scrapbooking and journaling. PI are proud to represent over 70 brands from global, recognisable brands to small, niche and new.

My second card for the Flower challenge has Poppies. I thought of the yellow Welsh Poppy, for a change. Especially as the card is for a friend of mine in the USA. I stamped the main image in a bright yellow and stencilled on a second layer with a slightly darker yellow. Then stamped the stem and details onto the lower layers in green.

I was then stumped, so I thought I used a die for my first card, I would look for another, and found a die I haven't used before. I cut it, it didn't cut the centre of the die, but I persisted and after putting it through at least 10 times, with varying weights of paper. I doubled some 300gsm card and put it through again, which worked. So frustrating, but it's a beautiful result. I'm glad I persisted, and hopefully I'll remember next time to use a heavyweight card, just for the centre. My boards are straight, so it wasn't that. Anyhow, I cut a piece to add to the card and decided to frame it. After more use, I think my poor Grand Calibur is on its way out, I've had it so many years. 😞

Next was to stamp the sentiment and die cut it. Before putting, it together, I decided to add to the yellow theme by adding a strip of ribbon. I don't mind it shows through the die. After completion, I added some gold gems.

stamps - Altenew Poppies, a mag freebie Simply Cards & Papercraft
sentiment stamp - mag freebie
pattern die - Crafters Companion Diamond Trellis
frame die - Tonic
ribbon and gems - stash

I thought, seeing as it's a Flower theme, I would show you photos of the garden borders this week.  It all looks so lovely. I hope you don't mind my indulgence, hubby deserves praise for his work.
