Two Watercolour cards

Hi Everyone, another birthday in the family, it was in January, a Great Niece this time. I had an idea to try to do a watercolour effect card, not something I usually do, I always colour in the images. Anyhow, I stamped the flowers and used watercolour paper to try it out, and decided it was OK for the card. I used plenty of water with the DI's and tried to loosely colour the flowers and leaves. I die cut the paper and stamped a sentiment. Luckily, the colours I used were good for the greyish effect of the watercolour paper, which I didn't mind on the white base card.

stamps - Stamps By Me "Made With Love"
inks - Distress Inks fossilized amber, shaded lilac, wilted violet, bundled sage
watercolour card - Crawford & Black

My second watercolour card was for a cousin, who rang me from the USA over Christmas and let me know that she was 90 in two weeks. A quick card was needed, so I could post it, and she had it on time, thankfully. I decided to use the same design, but in different colours, and use die cut numbers for her age, coloured in the same colours as the flowers. The long swash on the F was perfect to add the numbers, I thought. Here it is

inks - Distress Inks twisted citron, worn lipstick, fossilized amber, ripe persimmon
It's the same watercolour card, again I didn't mind the greyish tones of it. It all looks so different from the first card I think.

my first card - colorfuloptions yellow, purple, and green!

Both of your watercoloured cards are beautiful ... great colour combos!! And even though my fav colours are in the second card, I just love the softness of your lilac and sage card, Faith. Adding the 90 to your second card will make your cousin happy as she celebrates this awesome milestone. Happy Birthday to her and your great niece!! Love, Loll

Both cards are absolutely gorgeous Faith. I especially like the colours of the first one. Great idea to sit the numbers on top of the wonderful script line. Hugs, Sarn xxx

What beautiful watercolour cards, Faith! The floral stamps and the soft, muted colors create such a lovely effect. I especially love how you've used different colorways for each card—they both look stunning.

This is wonderful, Faith. The watercolors are so pretty. And WOW, a 90th is an event to be celebrated for sure. My Dad is not 91 (the USAF retired Col., is still flying, teaching Civil Air Patrol every week), and my former Pastor (and ex-boss, ex-Marine WWII Vet) is now 102. He still plays the piano at Nursing Homes, writes music, writes letters to the Editor, etc. They are both amazing men doing wonderful things. God can do truly amazing things through all those who love and serve/seek Him. Thanks for sharing this beautiful card and thanks for visiting my blog. I appreciate you so much.

What a beautiful pair of cards, Faith and a perfect example of how colours can make such a difference. I love your loose colouring on the flowers. Not going to the edge makes them look so modern and cool!
Hope you are well,

Two really beautiful quite CAS cards Faith, and I love the way you coloured the images leaving some white at the edges on some of it for a more modern look, and the second for your 90 year old cousin with the added number is cleverly placed on top of the swirly 'F'. x
