Hi Everyone, my card is for my hubby, we are celebrating 55 years of marriage today. The sentiment "it was Mint to be" I thought apt, as we were introduced on a blind date we didn't know was happening! arranged by our mutual friends, who were courting (dating) at the time. He asked me on a second date, I had just finished with someone and wasn't ready to start dating again, my friend said just one date to make a foursome so I can go out (with her boyfriend). I said OK.
We've been together ever since, that was 1963. We married in 1966, my Dad said as we were leaving the house, you don't have to get married if you have second thoughts! (I didn't) Bless him. I'm so glad I went through with it, as Hubby has been my rock through all our ups and downs, actually more downs that ups, but I couldn't have done it without him. AH!
OK all that romanticism is over now, just the card for you to see.
I wanted to use stamps I had and had been wanting to use for a while, I saw a card I was going to case, then it went from there, although I used a different stamp! It was only whilst stamping the background, I realised a 55 year anniversary is actually an emerald, how lucky is that! Silly me.
Anyhow, I stamped a background and die cut it to sit on a green mirror card, which also had been die cut. I then punched the heart out, stamped onto it, embossed and added separate punched hearts from card, coloured with the darker green. I stamped lots of mint leaves, fussy cut them (I don't like fussy cutting!) and layered them behind the heart. Another sentiment added and embossed then cut out with a die. It may be different, but as a man who loves his garden, I hope he will appreciate it, especially as we only send each other cards for our anniversaries when their special!
