CAS Mid Month WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

CAS

As I explained at the start of the challenge, a search through my stamps, brought up 2 sets that I could use, so I actually made this card at the same time as the first card of the challenge, whoop, whoop. This one again for one of my Niece's birthday. The next couple of months are busy with birthdays.

I found this stamp, that I have had many years, given to me by my lovely Sister in Law, and now I wonder why I haven't used it. Anyway, I stamped the bear, the "with love" is part of the image and coloured it with DI's, then die cut it, and die cut another layer. Next, the bear was 3D'd onto the bottom die cut layer.

As an afterthought, I found tiny flower dies and coloured them with the same colours DI's. I kept the tiny die cut pieces together by adding double sided tape. They were added to the edges of the image. All then adhered to the base card. I think I shall be using the set again quite soon, he's adorable.

stamp - Bentley Bear Thank You Collection
inks - Distress Inks brushed corduroy, walnut stain,ground expresso,bundled sage,carved pumpkin,mustard seed,dried marigold.

Birthday cake card

Hi Everyone, a card for my eldest brother today, I made it for a DT post and forgot I had made it, I had put it in a pile of cards made for birthdays.

My excuse is, I bought a new guillotine, with Christmas money, that can cut A3 card, so I can easily cut 5x7inch cards landscape. I am so excited, as the only way I could do it before was to use my Silhouette.

I always look through my files for birthday, it doesn't always, but for this card it turned up trumps, yet again.

I took the Baker and the sentiment into Silhouette, then placed them as I wanted them. Next, I added his age and the sentiment. The page design and 3 copies of the Baker were printed. The Baker was coloured with markers, although not my best effort, I hope my brother doesn't notice. They were glued together.

The background paper was printed, and the baker layer was added to it, with the die cut sentiment.

Baking Chef - Dr Digi, Baking Brian (my brother is also Brian 😁)
inks - Spectrum Noir markers
sentiment copied from - From the Heart Stamps, Cat Pout
background paper - Marisa Lerin at Digital Scrapbook.com

Monochrome TMR

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for

The Male Room

I started off thinking of black and white, but I had just seen a card, looking through my photos for inspiration, again, where is mojo? I saw Mr Fix It. Off to Photoshop I go and design the background, I printed the background, and a plain colour mat, then the image.

I had added a line around the image and fussy cut on it, the image was then coloured with markers. The patterned background was added to the plain coloured background and attached to the base layer. The image layer was added with 3D pads. A different take on monochrome, that I quite like, I hope you do too. Thank goodness for records of cards, that I can case.

CAS WLCS

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

CAS

A search through my stamps, brought up 2 sets that I could use, so I actually made this and the mid month card at the same time, whoop, whoop.

I stamped and coloured the image with DI's in a different colour way to what I would normally use, it must have been me on the day, then die cut it. Next, I stamped the sentiment and die cut that. I decided to add another layer, so die cut it and embossed lines diagonally. After adding all the layers, I added the sentiment matching the diagonal lines. The die is 5x7inches, so I had to juggle it to fit the image, and the sentiment, so the edges matched.

die - Card Making Magic
inks - Distress Ink abandonden coral, seedless preserve, specled egg, iced spruce

Crocodile thanks CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I made a “Thank You” card in 2009, before I started blogging, that I came across looking through my photos recently, and thought I would case it, adding the sentiment of my 2009 card. This is the original card, an awful photo.

I decided on a landscape 5 x 7 inch card.

Looking through more files, I found images that would work. I placed the images and the sentiment onto a card size base in Photoshop. Then they were printed out, cutting the background to fit the card base, and then fussy cutting 2 layers of the crocodile, one of the whole crocodile, and one cutting the mouth area. Those teeth were far easier than I thought. The layers were 3d'd, gluing the base of the crocodile to the background, so the top of the crocodile stood out more. I then added wobbly eyes after attaching it to the base card. I added a simple insert saying "Thank You".

Crocodile - I've had it for many years and don't have an identity (around 2016).
The background is made up of papers from Pixelscrapper blog hop June 2013

bottom paper, water - dhariana_pond_life_pp (3)

Two Watercolour cards

Hi Everyone, another birthday in the family, it was in January, a Great Niece this time. I had an idea to try to do a watercolour effect card, not something I usually do, I always colour in the images. Anyhow, I stamped the flowers and used watercolour paper to try it out, and decided it was OK for the card. I used plenty of water with the DI's and tried to loosely colour the flowers and leaves. I die cut the paper and stamped a sentiment. Luckily, the colours I used were good for the greyish effect of the watercolour paper, which I didn't mind on the white base card.

stamps - Stamps By Me "Made With Love"
inks - Distress Inks fossilized amber, shaded lilac, wilted violet, bundled sage
watercolour card - Crawford & Black

My second watercolour card was for a cousin, who rang me from the USA over Christmas and let me know that she was 90 in two weeks. A quick card was needed, so I could post it, and she had it on time, thankfully. I decided to use the same design, but in different colours, and use die cut numbers for her age, coloured in the same colours as the flowers. The long swash on the F was perfect to add the numbers, I thought. Here it is

inks - Distress Inks twisted citron, worn lipstick, fossilized amber, ripe persimmon
It's the same watercolour card, again I didn't mind the greyish tones of it. It all looks so different from the first card I think.

Anything but a square card mid month WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of  -

Anything but a square card

One of my nieces has a birthday this month and I made this card for her, taking the opportunity to use the challenge as inspiration. I used the Silhouette to make a scalloped stitched circle card. Which I edged with pink ink. I stamped the jumper and the scarfs, using the main colour of yellow, to colour and make them more feminine. I then added the pink and a green. Perhaps I should have made the embossing folder bigger, to hide the fold, would you believe it, I didn't think of it until I had put it all together. DUH!

The background was embossed with a cable design, the scarfs were stamped with the sentiments, and 3D'd onto the embossing.

Motorbiike

Hi Everyone, a card for my #3 brother, he loved his motorbike but, at 85 is passed riding them now, that doesn't mean he doesn't still like them. Hence, my card today.

I stamped a motorbike and clear embossed it. Next, I used the mask I had already made for this card, and stamped the background mountains and some grass, then die cut it and also a gold mirror card base.

I was going to use die cuts for the age, but I had been reminded recently, seeing a blog using foil with the Silhouette. I hadn't used it for foiling for a long time. So, I went to my Silhouette and designed a circle with an 85, his name, and the sentiment, to foil onto card, also cutting a circle from mirror card at the same time.

I then stencilled tyre tracks with DO onto the base card. I should have made them darker? They show a little in real life.

motorbike stamp - Indigo Blue - Ride Long
background stamp - Stamp Addicts - Scenic Sailing
grass - I can't find it now, but I think it's a freebie from my subscription magazine.
 inks - Distress Oxides

foiled sentiment font - Galantis

Anything but a square card WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme of

Anything but a square card

A search through my stamps, brought up 2 sets that I could use for New Year, that was my easiest choice as mojo is seriously lacking. Seeing a design in my subscription magazine that I quite liked, I decided to try it out. I went to my Silhouette to cut out the hexagons, as I don't have any dies to suit. On the smaller one I stamped the bottle and the glasses, then I stamped the firework flash, and also the sentiment. The fun fizz sentiment was stamped onto a spare piece of card and fussy cut. All with gold embossing powder. The firework flash was inked in red and blue and the bottle and glasses were coloured with DI's.

Next, I stamped the party swirls all over the halved hexagon, embossed in gold, and blended ink. Then I added the top hexagon to the half piece and added the fun sentiment.

I hope you all had a fun celebration for the New Year.

Chick Birthday card CCC

Hi Everyone, the first of my 2 DT projects today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had a card to make for my Great Niece, so took the opportunity to make it for the challenge too. I had this fabulous chick in my files, so took it into Silhouette and cut around it. Then I chose a floral Spring paper for her and cut the 6 from it. Next, I printed out the sentiment and her name. I thought it needed something else, so used a heart die and coloured the hearts in matching colours, using left over hearts to add randomly. The cut out 6 was added to the base card and the chick was added with an action wobble, to give it some fun for her. Next, I designed an insert with 2 more of the chicks from the set.

this is the wobble action, sorry there is so much black around it, but I rotated the video and then couldn't remove the black. I'll keep trying!

Male CAS card TMR

Hi Everyone, my second DT card today is for

Looking through my stamps for male images, I found a few of sport, I hadn't used the cycle stamp, so that's what it would be.

Next what design, I have said for a while I've been minus mojo, so I decided to use a sketch to help and thought this one quite different, that would certainly get me going. It's by MFT #519
What was I going to use for the triangle? I went through my paper pads and came across this, not a usual colour for male cards, I thought, but what the heck. I measured the bottom at 4inches, then measured the sides until they met at the centre. That was it, I cut the triangle. Then stamped the bike and embossed it. The stamp came with sentiments and I mixed them to get them the effect. A large die was used to cut around it, so plenty of shifting it to fit. I then blended the sides with DO ink.

I laid the triangle and sentiment onto the base card to see the effect, but I didn't think it looked finished, even though it's a CAS card. So I went into my Silhouette, then looked online to find a free cycle helmet and cycle gloves to fit inside the triangle. Two layers were cut and glued together, then attached to the triangle. Although you can't see it, I also embossed a triangle around the card triangle.  In the end I was happy, I think I may have to start using sketches again to get my mojo going.
