Elegant lady?

Hi everyone, I want to thank you all for your suggestions on remembering birthdays, that I asked about a few weeks ago. I think I'll try a couple, at least one of them should work ay?

My card today was for one of my SiLs, I saw this file recently and had to have it, I followed the suggested colours, but changed them slightly.

The whole file was taken into my Silhouette and I cut each piece out. Putting them together, I inked some edges. It was quite straight forward, like die cuts, when I put the pieces together on my desk first. I was lucky to find in my paper pads a similar pattern for the collar and sleeves. The grey pieces are silver mirror card.

I wanted some sort of sentiment and found one that I had bought in a recent sale, just perfect methinks. I couldn't add it to the curved section of the main card, so stamped it on the same card, cut to fit, and added it to the corner.

I know a lot of you won't understand my liking for my Silhouette, but I love it, and appreciate how it can cut any size I want. I only hope my SiL will like the card.

Fabulous Florals WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, the 15th Anniversary of the challenge, we would love to see your cards with the theme from Brenda -

Fabulous Florals.

The lovely buttercup stamp was stamped onto white card, and then coloured with DI's. Next I stamped it again and fussy cut the flowers, then shaped them and went to add them to the card, but, decided it needed something else, so I stencilled 2 stencils, recently bought, one in yellow and one in green. I wanted a sentiment, so looked through my stamps and found one that I thought suited, and stamped it onto the card in black to match the flowers.

Another decision, I felt it should have a base, so went looking for a paper that would suit. I use the search option a lot in my files, and this time searched for yellow paper. This was amongst them, although it's more green than yellow, it suited, it was printed and cut to size, then I attached it to the base card. The stamped layer was attached to the card, and then the extra flowers were added to the card. Next, I added gems to 3 of the flowers.

The insert was done in Photoshop, with the same paper backing the stamped flowers. I asked Google for a simple birthday verse and this was the first it came up with. I chose a similar font to the stamped sentiment. I had some buttercups in my files and added them to the paper and sentiment. Outlining them in black to copy the stamped flowers. Should have used the stamp though. Oh! well, next time!

Floral birthday

Hi Everyone, I had a quick card to do, as usual! I used to have a great desktop calendar, that showed me on the screen a birthday and a month before too, so I had plenty of time to make a card. However, I now have Google Calendar and not impressed, although it comes up with the information, I then go on to something and forget until the last moment. Maybe it's just an old age thing, but I wish they would have updated my old calendar.

Anyhow, back to my card, as I said a quick one, I took a tip from the We Love Stamping Challenge and used florals, no stamping though.

I have this gorgeous digital paper in my files, so I printed it and die cut it to fit the card. I then die cut another layer of pink card to layer the floral onto. Next I took a butterfly die and cut it out of the same pink card and die cut a sentiment from blue card.

I then went into PS and made an insert, by enlarging the floral paper to the size of the card, next adding 2 white squares. I then added a butterfly to one and a sentiment onto the other, printed it out and cut it to size, card done.

Ribbon or Twine TMR

Hello Everyone, my DT post today is for

The Male Room

A celebration for me today, I have been with the DT here since June 2016, that's 8 years. This is my first card on the DT, plenty of changes of style, and usage of crafty things in between for me.

I had a struggle to do this. I don't often add ribbon or twine to my cards, but somehow, I thought of a bird house hanging from a tree. After a couple of weeks thinking of other ways to use twine or ribbon, I decided to just go for it. This is the result.

I die cut a square background and blended some DI onto it to simulate the sky,  I wanted it still CAS, so didn't add too much. I then stamped the birdhouse onto wood grain card, and added shadow on the edges, for the house and red striped card for the roof, also with shadow edges. They were glued together. I then planned where the sentiment could go and stamped it onto the background die piece.

Next the branch was stamped, in different places and once onto card, which was fussy cut (ugh!) for the twine to hang from it, they were then were coloured. The swallow was stamped next and coloured. The twine was attached to the branch, which was 3D'd onto the card. The twine was stretched and attached to the house, which was also 3D'd. I added 3D pads to the swallow and attached a piece of twine to it's beak, I had to use more twine! The background was then attached to the base card.

I'm afraid my card isn't too imaginative in the use of twine, but I hope it will pass. After pasting it here, I thought perhaps it could be used for a new home card too. Oh! well, I suppose I could add a new home sentiment and a label die cut if needed.

Fabulous Florals WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme from Brenda - A long post on Florals.

Fabulous Florals.

So many Floral stamps, what to choose? Most of my stamps are from a subscription magazine, that has helped me in my use of stamps.

I selected a bouquet of flowers stamp, but decided to add a mask and make it a round shape, with blue DI. I then cut it with a square die. Next I splashed some gold ink onto the base card, let it dry and added the square die florals. I didn't know where I was going, but decided to stamp separate flowers, colour them and fussy cut them, and add them to the left upper corner. Then I stamped the sentiment, which just about fit into the lower right corner. Next I stamped the bow and added that too. I'm not too sure about the flowers on the top, one minute I think I made a mistake in adding them, then I like them, they're added now so will have to be OK.

I have another piccie, I'd like to share with you, I wonder if you could identify this cut flower? Admittedly, it is on the edge of being thrown out, but I didn't think it looked like its original shape and would never have thought it would fully open to this. identity below the image! I saw the flowers coming out, then hubby went cutting a shrub next to it and accidentally stepped on the 3 flowers. So I don't have a photo of them in their original shape. I put them into a vase where they flowered for 2 weeks and ended up like this. Still beautiful methinks.

Rainbow Lorikeets CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I thought I would bombard you with colour today. I had to have this colourful Rainbow Lorikeet after seeing it on Beccy's page with discontinued digi stamps. I must admit to not being aware of the name Lorikeet. You learn something everyday day!

Anyhow, he is a ready coloured image, I print and cut him 3 times on the Silhouette, then looked for the most colourful paper I had, the wavy paper is from my computer files, printed and then die cut. The other papers were found after a search in my paper pads. All die cut and layered onto the base card. The sentiments were played with in Photoshop to make them colourful too, printed and die cut.
