New Home

Hi Everyone, I can't get over where the time has gone, I have been busy, and every time I wanted to do comments or come on here I've been thwarted. I've definitely been very busy doing nothing.

I made this card to welcome hubby's sister and her husband to their new home. The same heart was used here. I coloured it with marker pen then placed it onto the card base and drew a pencil line of the centre, the space was then inked. The heart was then placed over it and was attached to the card base.

I then die cut a house, cutting off the top layer, due to them moving to the bungalow. The roof was die cut, they were coloured with markers and attached to the house layer. I added sparkle pen to the door, you can see it in the second photo. Next, I stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and a set of keys. The sentiment and keys were fussy cut and added to the heart.

Yesterday, I decided to spend all day on my 'puter catching up. Then we had a call to say our BiL had been taken into hospital after a fall, last week they moved into the bungalow, so are still in the middle of unpacking. We were asked to house sit and wait for the man who was coming to connect their telephone, everyone else in the family was in work.  I'm sad to say BiL who is 90 isn't well.

100 year old birthday card & floods

Hi Everyone, I had a couple of you ask if my SiL took up stamping? Sadly no, she loves what she does with Photoshop and Silhouette, she makes beautiful of cards. I was like her until a few years ago, but only since I have been on the DT of We Love Stamping I have I really got into stamping and trying to get better at it. Although I still love Photoshop and my Silhouette.

Anyhow, my card today is for hubby's Aunt, who is 100 on the 29th of this month. She is a lovely gentle soul, who still, thankfully, has her full faculties. I decided to use a stamp, that I love. It was stamped twice, turning the card to do the second, then I stamped the sentiment, embossing both with gold embossing powder. I coloured them in autumnal colours with DI's

I didn't have large enough number dies, so I measured the size I wanted and cut the 100 with the shadow in my Silhouette. I matched the green of the colouring with pearlised card and layered the front layer onto it before attaching to the base card.

For some reason the card was a little bowed, probably due to the heat gun, so I placed it under my Grand Calibur, to weigh it down and flatten it. Then horror of horrors, there must have been a small spot of glue on the card somehow, that had attached to the card. Luckily in the corner, but I couldn't get it off, so a die rescue for the corner and a top corner to match, coloured to match the main flower. I wasn't too sure whether to redo the card, but I hope it's OK and she likes it. I took the photo at a slight angle, so you can see the shine.

Just a little about the recent flooding in the UK, one of my Niece's was affected, one of those people, who had spent a lot on renovating and modernising their home, an old Water Mill. Now will have to start again, so sad for everyone impacted by Storm Babet, it certainly brought awful weather. Here are a few photos she took.

Mood Board WLSC Mid Month

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping.
The theme this month being "Anything stamped, option, Mood Board"

We will be announcing some challenge changes, so please make a note to check our new challenge post on 5th November.

For my second card referring to this mood board, I chose a flower stamp, and adding it to the edge of a piece of card, I stamped and embossed in gold. Copying the board, I then painted them loosely with DI's. A sentiment was selected and stamped, then embossed in gold. Next, I added the stamped layer to the blank A6 base card, and it was done. I enjoyed making this card, as it came together quickly with lots of colours. The photos are not too good as it was a rainy, dark day, when taken.
stamps - Stamp by Me
inks - Distress inks, aged mahogany, fossilized amber, barn door, ripe persimmon, seedless preserve, wilted violet, forest moss, peeled paint, pine needles.

Autumn birthday

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. My card today is for one of my SiL, she is a card maker too, so I like to do something different for her. When my brother and she visited last month, I showed her how to stamp, (she uses, and very well too, Photoshop and her Silhouette, as I do.) She hadn't seen stamping done, so my card had to be stamping and die cut.

I wanted autumnal colours as she loves these colours. I decided unusually to decide on the colour of the card, before stamping and colouring. I stamped an envelope and a "sent with love" with the same colour ink as the darker orange card. Then stamped the flowers and coloured them with DI's, to match the card. They don't show very well, but in a certain light they do. If that makes sense.

Next was the design, I felt keeping it simple would show the  images off. So die cut the background cards and as a bow was included with the stamped images, I cut one to place beneath the group of flowers on the bottom. The envelope flowers were fussy cut, you know I love fussy cutting, ugh!  It had to be done. Then die cut the single flowers and leaves. Next, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and shaded it to match.

6 year old card

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. My post today is a card for my Nieces Granddaughter. She was 6 last week. The card was another that wasn't received, so I thought. Then I had a photo of Dorothy and her card, which was a lovely thing to do by her Mum. I don't know what is happening with the post, it was always so reliable to get there in just a day or two.

Anyhow, I used a digital image and decided to add a floral dress for her to wear, the image and the dress reminded me of so much of little Dorothy. As I was in Photoshop to add the dress paper, I decided to colour her and add a background. I made the background with a designer paper and added the text and 6, with a digital garden stamp, which I also coloured digitally.  I haven't done PS colouring for so long, it was a nice change.

Next, I took her into Silhouette and print and cut 3 images and layered them together. I also cut the 6.  I added the background to a matching shade of card, then the image and number were added. The insert was based on the front, adding the same images, the verse I found at Craftsuprint.

Another Butterfly

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you all.

My card today was for a friend, who sadly didn't receive it. I made a couple of versions of the butterfly, one is here. Of which, a few didn't make it to a card. However, I was pleased with both of them.

With this one, I started with the butterfly, I stamped it and die cut it, then put a mixture of Pixie Powders onto my glass mat and added some water and gold ink. The butterfly was placed onto the wet powder and dried. I then decided it needed more shine, so I added 3D glaze. I stamped some text in 2 corners of the base card and dragged an ink pad over it. Next I added a shadow with DI's and some crafting threads, then attached the butterfly to the centre of it. A stamped sentiment was added. A simple card that I was so pleased with, and to think it wasn't received is very annoying. I've also had another card not received, I'll show it to you in another post.

Get Well TMR

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

Quite a few years ago, I visited a blog that was associated with Squigglefly digital images. Now no more. However, I had saved one of her cards, (I think she was Helen?) as I loved the great sentiment, which I have adapted from that card for today.

The image was just perfect to suit the sentiment, my colouring is not as I liked, but fur has many shades, hasn't it? The eyes, to match the door colour, have 3D glaze to make them shine. The balloon was, after colouring, painted with a clear sparkle pen. I designed a shaped card and a simple door in Silhouette, so that I could add the door and then place the image onto the card layer. The sentiment, with two layers, as I said, adapted from a long ago card, was layered onto the door, cut from 2 different green card.

Mood Board WLSC

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping
the theme this month being "Anything stamped, option, Mood Board"

Such lovely colours, which I seem to have preempted in my last post!   I had forgotten I had used them! Then went to do some editing and found circles and colours in almost the same colours, I must like them, I think!

Anyhow, onto this months card, that I really struggled with, funnily enough. However it all came together when I had only a little time for crafting. I started by using a die cut circle as a mask, and layering it, by inking it a few times, with some mood board colours and stamping a text stamp to ink over them. I had already stamped a few versions of the butterfly and coloured it with Pixie Powder, a few months ago, when making a card for a friend, then went with another version of it for her.

Before adding the butterfly, I decided to emboss over the circles, with a butterfly and flower embossing folder. Then stamped the sentiment and added 2 butterflies with 3D pads. The layers were attached to the base blank card.

Reading Bear CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I am trying to use old images etc. Looking through my digital images, I came across this adorable bear, and immediately thought of a bookmark.

I took her into my Silhouette to print and cut her out, I decided to cut one in reverse, so I could do a double sided bookmark, The sentiment was designed and also cut with the Silhouette.

For a change, I used markers to colour her, and she is as bright as she looks. After colouring her, I attached her to both sides of the bookmark and put her through my Laminator, (poor thing rarely gets used.)
