Another Butterfly

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you all.

My card today was for a friend, who sadly didn't receive it. I made a couple of versions of the butterfly, one is here. Of which, a few didn't make it to a card. However, I was pleased with both of them.

With this one, I started with the butterfly, I stamped it and die cut it, then put a mixture of Pixie Powders onto my glass mat and added some water and gold ink. The butterfly was placed onto the wet powder and dried. I then decided it needed more shine, so I added 3D glaze. I stamped some text in 2 corners of the base card and dragged an ink pad over it. Next I added a shadow with DI's and some crafting threads, then attached the butterfly to the centre of it. A stamped sentiment was added. A simple card that I was so pleased with, and to think it wasn't received is very annoying. I've also had another card not received, I'll show it to you in another post.

threads - The Range

ink - Distress Ink, tumbled glass

  7. This is gorgeous Faith ... fabulous colouring technique with the butterfly, and I love the whole layout. You have reminded me that I bought some silver thread a few weeks ago specifically to put onto cards and I haven't used it ... must look it out! So sorry it went AWOL in the post - there is no doubt that Royal Mail has lost the plot and gone ridiculously expensive whilst doing it!!

  14. So sorry that the Royal Mail let you down, Faithie. It's hard enough to make cards without having to deal with them getting lost. Your butterfly is magnificent in all its shining pixie glory, xoxo

  21. This is so stunning Faith and I can understand you being cross it hasn't arrived. But there is hope - I had to chase up an amazing bargain I found on ebay which didn't turn up for weeks and has suddenly arrived when everyone had given up! Your comment 'I decided it needed more shine' made me chuckle. That is such a crafter thing to say! Vicky x
