those who follow my Blog via email subscriptions

Google has announced that in July it will discontinue it’s Feedburner email subscription service that allows you to get email alerts of new blog posts. As a result I have changed to a new provider called follow.it.  All of you who have subscribed to receive email notifications of new posts on my blog should have received an email from follow.it.   asking you to confirm that you want to continue to receive notifications. If you don't confirm then you will be unsubscribed and will no longer receive emails. Alternatively you can click on the green follow button on the right to subscribe.

Other ways of following my Blog remain unchanged.
Thanks to Shirly Young for her words here.

Now my post for today -

Haven't we been so lucky with the beautiful sunshine in the UK, to make us feel happier. I can live with sunshine everyday, how about you. I don't mind the rain at night though.

It's one of the same stamp I did the other day I stamped and coloured, but didn't know what else I wanted to do with it, after a long while with no mojo and couldn't be bothered, I came up with this. I still have 2 others waiting in the wings with the same stamp. I cut an oval frame and before adding I used the inside of the frame as a mask to ink outwards from the image, I kept the mask in place and used a border die to "sort of" match the music bars, I stamped the birthday wishes the frame was added and also a bow and a button die. I layered onto the same card I cut the frame from and added it to a ready made card base.

Stamp - Flora Musica, Chocolate Baroque
border stamp - Stamp Addicts
sentiment stamps - Magazine Freebies
inks - Distress ink,
oval die - Tonic
ribbon - Ikea
heart button die - First Edition

Retired birthday?

Hi Everyone, I hope you've been enjoying the glorious weather we have been having in the UK. I actually had a couple of hours freedom from things and read in quiet contemplation in the garden, with only the birds to disturb my peace, pure bliss! I can tell you I have needed it.

Anyhow, another birthday card today I made for hubby from my son, he wanted funny as always, so here it is. You may think that the DAD is not level, it's not supposed to be, my son always says Dad raising the last letter for some reason, so it's done for that.

I saw a card that I cased, more with the words than the card though, but it didn't have any name on it, so I'm sorry I can't give credit to the owner.

I did a print and cut of the stamp, then coloured it, not with great success, but I know hubby won't notice Bless him. Papers were layered onto black paper and I also made a background like a room. I used a stencil for the Dad. The image has 3 layers, when all glued together I added them to the card front, with the sentiments  and the border paper.

Tomatoes

Hi Everyone, a card at last!. I made it for hubby's birthday this week, something different, I saw this beautiful card here  and it lit an idea in my mind and this is the result.

I did a print and cut on the Silhouette, making the frame and the heart, then layering the 3 layers I cut of each. I added clear sparkle pen to the tomatoes and the heart. We need a bit of happy atm, so made what I think is a happy card. He smiled so it must be!

Feedburner

Hi Everyone, I have been looking with Shirley Young to find an alternative to Feedburner. Shirley found one first that she and I will be using from https://follow.it/ni I shall be changing in the next day or so. I wanted to warn you first, as I have over 1300 subscribers and looking at them most are scam subscribers. (I presume) as they have the same few letters or words at the beginning of their emails. I am only going to add the people whose emails I know, or look genuine, this could mean I am missing you out on the email follower list. Apologies.

I would really like if you would continue to follow my blog by email. When I have changed over you will see a GREEN "Follow". As in Shirley's blog HERE.

It may be an alternative for you too?

I have made a couple of cards, but thought I would add this, before them, then change to the new feed email follower.

I hope this made sense?

Anniversary

Hi Everyone, I have a lot of things going on at the moment, so if I seem a little short in my comments please forgive me, I am trying to keep up with everything, but things will inevitably be delayed sometimes.

With all that's going on here and Prince Philip's funeral, I have been a bit down in the dumps, especially on Saturday and seeing Her Majesty the Queen seemingly so alone, so many people this year being in the same predicament made it so poignant.

Well as the Prince said "get on with it".

My card is a celebration , which was lovely to make and going back to their wedding day and thinking, where the heck have all those years gone. Anyhow this is for my Godson and his wife. I hope they like it.

I started off with cutting out a leaf background with a die and some card and using it as a stencil, using a light grey ink, I didn't want any colour as it's a Pearl Anniversary. I went around the edges of the card, then stamped the sentiment.

Off to my electronic die cutting machine to cut the heart, I cut 4 layers to have it stand proud from the card. I used one layer for the placement of the leaves and coloured the same ink through it, I took the shape off and painted slightly outside the line, so there were no white edges to the leaf inserts. The heart with all layers was added and I placed the pearls, which I have had for years.

Another Birthday

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I saw this bunny and had to have him for my DT card today, I think he's adorable. I added him to the Cameo so I could print and cut him out, then decided to cut some grass at the same time. I coloured the grass on the cutting mat, so much easier, I coloured the grass area on the background and added the grass stencil, then coloured the "earth". A ploughed field? Strange how my mind works.

I stencilled the clouds and then on to the bunny, I have to admit to colouring him twice, the first time was rubbish, luckily I had print and cut 2 for layering, so the next was placed over it and coloured again. This time a little better, I'm not really a colourist, but I tried. I added grey marker, to match the bunny, around the edge of the card to layer the image

I used 2 fonts for the greeting Cambria and Beauty Alesha Serif

AWOL?

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry I have been AWOL, but with happenings here and with no inclination to make anything, I'm afraid my poor blog has been neglected this last few days. Except, of course, my respect to Prince Philip.

After seeing something that said, no mojo? get something out and sit there until you have made something with it. Well I did, however the 'puter was taking priority instead, YouTube etc. but nothing happened, then I saw a card with blue in it and I thought it's a colour I don't often go to as the main choice, so here is the result.

My recently bought stamp in use again, I do love this.

A simple card, with the image stamped, an oval placed over it and some distress ink shaded out from the oval.  I then was stuck, so looked through my stamps and came across the sentiment stamp and a little butterfly.  In the mood I was in, I decided to make a Thinking of You card, as that's all I was doing was thinking! I used the background layer which is a pearlised  paper to stamp it on, a few gems card done. btw, the blue sentiment paper is cut straight, but for some reason it doesn't look it? Me and my photography???

I also coloured  3 more of the stamp, but haven't done anything else with them, I'll blog them as soon as I have done something.

pearlised paper - Outlet store

"Wood" you believe it?

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Last time we had a wood challenge, I did a sign for hubby and his garage door, which by the way is still there as new! I'm pleased to say. Anyhow, this time I have used a completely different piece of wood and "wood" you believe what it is? It's an ice cream stick from a mini version of the larger chocolate ice cream lollypop which begins with an "M".  ðŸ˜€

Our G.Nephew was 13 at the end of the month and I made this for him, he is a character, so I knew he would enjoy the pun and the colours, (he did).
I printed and cut the papers and layered them onto black card. I coloured the sticks with Distress inks with colours similar to the striped paper and I added some wobbly eyes to them. I then added 3D gloss to the red words on the sentiment.  I saw the sentiment on the web so cased it.

papers - Digital Press
sentiment - the web
recycled lolly sticks
Distress inks - Mermaid Lagoon, Crushed Olive, Abandoned coral
wobbly eyes - stash
3D gloss - Nuvo Crystal Drops

What "Wood" you make for our challenge?  I hope to see you there.

you want to be included in amongst the Winners

Musica!

Hi Everyone, I hope you've had a lovely Easter weekend, no matter what you did.

When I did my Rose stamp last week I forgot to add I had ordered 2 stamps, ah! so easily forgotten hahaha, this is the second. This time it has music with the rose. I decided to use a music background paper and stamp over it to see what it was like and I liked it, so all I did then was colour the image and add a die cut frame around it.

stamp - Rosa Musica Chocolate Baroque
paper - Craft Sensations paper pad
inks - Distress Inks
Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citroen, Mowed Lawn
oval die - Tonic
orange paper - Lidl
sentiment - Julie Hickey
sentiment die - Julie Hickey

Spring has definitely sprung in the garden, so many buds and flowers coming out, this is the Camelia looking good this year.

Yes! the sky really was that blue, with not a cloud to be seen.

Easter Greetings

I hope your Easter weekend is not too cold after the lovely warmth we had earlier in the week. My card today is an Easter card. It's from a free file I have had since 2018 and each Easter I think I'll make that and never have, however, I shouldn't have waited, as it turned out to be beautiful and although with a few parts was easy to to colour and put together.

I coloured the leaves and flower centres, that I had cut with the digital die cutting machine, while they were still on the cutting mat, that turned out to be so much easier than trying to do each individual piece, as I have done previously. A little tip I saw recently. Then it was glue each part and put them together. I kept the card quite simple with white card and used my lightbox to photograph it.

Bad Hare Day

I have 2 DT cards today

our 50th challenge

Anything Goes but

they MUST feature a critter

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale, Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter featured...

We are sponsored this month by Sheepski Designs and they generously
provided images to our DT use on their inspiration projects.

My card came about when I saw this image with Andrea at Sheepski Designs, I loved the idea around it and I tried to make it look like it was taken in a room, (a little as she had done hers) with wallpaper, taking the colours from the paper. I also used a font that looked like it was being blown by the hairdryer! OK! that's in my imagination! I'm not too sure if I succeeded but I did enjoy doing it. As for the sentiment it had to be! I seem to be doing cards with a case on this sentiment a lot!  However that's what I think when I make cards for the family, blimey Charlie, their nearly as old as I think I am! hahaha

image - Bad Hare Day
papers - Bella Gypsy
sentiment - my own
stamps - Magazine freebies

Honest!

Hi Everyone here I am with my first of 2 DT cards for today, it's for the new challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

I felt like doing something different and having a sentiment as a feature is definitely different for me. This is such a fun one, I had to use it on it's own. I cut the card with a digital die cutting machine using a free file by my blog friend Shirley I wanted some colour on it, so had a look up of colour mixes and found this, the colours are not what I would have chosen to put together, so another different for me.
The flowers were coloured with Distress inks. the leaves die cut, the centre was part of the cut file. I also backed the lattice with the same paper I used with the sentiment. Although it could be left as is.
