Hi Everyone, my Digitally Sweet Challenges DT post today is for -

The MONTHLY challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

This month is anything that inspires you about this picture,
it could be the colours, it could be the fruit

sponsored by  Deedee's Digis

I used Deedee's Digis "Bugs & Blooms" such a pretty kit. I used the ready coloured image and papers, however I changed the colours in Photoshop to match the required colours of the challenge. Only a shade difference in the green, orange and yellow. This could easily be done if you use the outline images supplied and coloured in with whatever medium you have. I used the sentiment from the kit, thought it suited this little snail.  Do you think it's happy card?
I followed the CCD sketch in PS, printed it all out in layers, then "bravely" asked my Cameo to print and cut it out for me, those little eyes on the snail cut beautifully. The layers were added to the blank card and the main image was 3D'd. I added Stickles to the flower and 3D gloss to his eyes.

A literal COPY!

Hi Everyone, today I have not just a case, but a literal copy of a card I saw on the web. I was looking for an idea for a Congratulations card, for my cousin who has been appointed Mayor of a large seaside town. I felt it had to be quite elegant and when I saw THIS CARD felt it was perfect. It was made a few years ago, and I have made the maker aware I am blogging this. I can take an idea and play with it, but this was already perfect for me. Hence the copy. I used Papermania card, and a bow template cut file by Styrock

Thought I would share my garden with you too, I took these this morning.

It's GREY!

Hi Everyone, I came across a few challenges today and decided to go with them all! All I have to do now is hope they fit the theme LOL.

Here is my card, you may remember I have done a grey themed card before here I think this is definitely different ay? For some reason the light this evening has turned the grey slightly beige? It's grey I promise you. I designed it in PS following the sketch, printed and layered the papers and 3D the image, added tiny flowers with pearl effect added. The size of the card is 210 x210 should be 200 x 210, I had to cut the A4 card for the printed layers to fit. I printed it out wrong! thought it wouldn't matter for 10mm? I cut the centre image with my Sihouette, my die was NOT round grrrrrr!

Christmas card - again!

Hi Everyone, I've been absent for a few days lack of mojo AGAIN!

Hubby took me and walked around with me (bless him and no moans either) when we went to the Cardiff Craft and Hobby show today, OH! temptation everywhere LOL. I VERY nearly bought some inks, that were £80 instead of £160, oh! boy did that lady know what she was doing. However I decided that my PS was my favourite way of working. I know, most of you would say I am mad, but I think I have to practice colouring by hand before making such an investment, however, it very nearly was hand in the pocket time. I did buy some card and paper and a die! I know, last of the big spenders LOL.

As for my mojo - I saw that Outlawz has a progressive challenge, so I joined it and put my painting PS skills to a real challenge for me, I'm quite pleased with it though and the VERY different Christmas colours, from a digi kit I have had since 2011. I layered the image onto printed paper (to match) and 3D'd the sentiment and added some pearl paint to the holly berries. I love this image she is so cute and I'm so glad I had the chance to use her. I don't think I will be so afraid to colour Ppinky Doll images again, the shadows are all there to help.

Flowers everywhere!

Hi Everyone, a card with flowers, flowers and more flowers today. Deedee's Digis is sponsoring a challenge over at Outlawz Challenges we were given a sketch to follow and this is my version of it.

I used the "Grown with Love" kit by Deedee's Digis. I used the flower pot, one of the outline images in the kit and coloured it myself in PS. I followed the shapes of the sketch in PS and printed it all out to add and layer onto my blank card. I used a die for the flowers and added Perlen Pen drops to the centres and to the bow centre. The bow is a cut file. You can see more of the detail in the photo below which was taken as the wind caught it LOL.

Owl hug

Hiya Everyone, two posts in one day WOW, perhaps mojo is back from his convention LOL.
Deedees Digis is sponsoring a challenge at Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog we had an inspiration photo to follow, I found this one a real challenge, but here is my effort.  I know you have never seen a grey and purple owl, but it's my artistic licence LOL.

The card looks a little round, but the wind was blowing so hard, I had to hold it in place and at the last moment take my hand away, it was just about to fall toward me, perhaps that's why.

Positivity!

Hi Everyone I have a card for a sponsored challenge for Deedee's Digis at the Path of Positivity Challenge the theme being Perseverance. Now that did throw me up in the air, how the heck would I do a card from a word? I had a look through Deedee's images and couldn't believe it when I came across just the thing and even a sentiment in "CaityCaterpillar"and so pretty too.

I changed the colour slightly, of the caterpillar, in PS to match the papers I decided to use. I cut a die to add to it and a plush bow. The bow actually matches, don't know how it doesn't here?

Cupcake

Hi Everyone, I have been entering a challenge for a few months and felt quite guilty I hadn't yet. so got an image, Cupcake Bakery 1 and set to colouring it, in PS of course, not anywhere near doing it by hand yet. I went searching amongst my files for digi paper suitable and yep! I had a set. I designed it in PS then printed and layered. added a swirl die, 3D'd the image, one card made. The sentiment I got off the web, sorry I forgot where.

Reading around the blogs, I notice that a few are lacking in mojo, I have decided that there is a mojo convention and they are there, hope it doesn't last long and they will be back home soon.

Christmas Critters

Hi Everyone, my DT card for Deedee's Digis today is for the Christmas Critters Challenge which requests you to use a "Critter".

I have used the "Jingle All the Way" kit from Deedee's. I saw this lovely card and thought the sketch perfect for my card, as I wanted the image to be large and didn't have a sketch suitable. I used two of the papers in the kit and Stickled the hats of the cat and mouse and lights and 3D gloss on the cat's eyes, some bling and layered on gold mirror card. Can't you just hear that bell tinkle?

Watercolour pencils and Promarkers

Hi Everyone, I've been missing in action because I haven't felt like doing anything, as I said earlier this week. Then thought I would do something different than my 'puter. I got my Promarkers out - yep! I have some, bought on a visit to Spalding last year, used once! and my Reeves watercolour pencils that I have had for years and years, have tried them a couple of times, then put them away and forgot about them.

Tuesday I got them both out and tried with the beautiful freebie image from Eastwind. It's an easy image to play with, I have already used it as PS colouring here I hope you will indulge me this post as I would love to hear your comments on my efforts and which you like best and what I should keep trying with. Hubby likes the Promarker one and Son likes the Watercolour one. Can't give up on my PS colouring though LOL. I love the idea of watercolour as my Grandfather was a beautiful watercolourist.

The first I did was the Promarker, I have also shown which colours I have, no skin colours so used a few colours to get the skin looking something like a normal tone - laugh out loud! I spoiled the blank image because of copyright.

The one on the right is the watercolour.

I had a lovely comment on one of my cards from Jessa at Useless Trinkets and went over to thank her. This card was what met me, I think it is one of the most original cards I have seen in a long while. Look at the cat's guilty face LOL. Take a visit to her fun blog HERE

Cut out

Hi Everyone, me again, still not with the mojo, but I did a little design last week that perhaps you may like to see. I needed a card to send to friends on the birth of their new Grandson and thought I would try my Silhouette, I haven't got the Design area yet to make new designs, (I think you need it?) so went to my first port of call for everything and that is PS.

I started with the size of the front of the card and used the PS shapes to add to it. I "painted" the area black and the shapes white, merged them and saved it as a PNG, tranferred it into Silhouette and cut it out of 170g matte coated paper, I am so pleased with this paper, it shows up the colours beautifully and cuts great. I added lavender card behind it. I duplicated the onesie and used another printed paper to cut it out, then 3D'd that onto the cut layer. That wasn't enough I wanted to add a sentiment or something about a new baby, but didn't think it could be added to the front, what to do?

Add acetate - of course! before I added the cut out to the blank card, I folded the acetate over the card and paper and glued them to the blank card. I still couldn't see how I was to add the sentiment without hiding the cut out design, then a light bulb went on! I haven't added peel offs to a card for a VERY long time, so there they are onto the acetate, I think it works on this occasion. I think that light bulb moment sent my brain into overload, as it hasn't worked much since LOL.

CAS hybrid.

Hi Everyone, a couple of days of absolutely NIL mojo, didn't even want to be on the computer, even though I had delivery of a die set! Yep I really had it BAD! Well I have done something today, which brightened me up a bit, (because of the colour) - but a CAS card? You have seen that I don't do CAS, I've tried, but I always want to add more, I was going through Paper Playful looking for a challenge for another card and saw a challenge for Birds, well for some reason the peacock came into my mind. This card was born, let me know if you think it CAS? I'm going to enter anyway, no harm is it? LOL.
I designed it in PS, as usual, with digi image and papers, printed them out and layered the papers and cut out a die heart from my new set. The photo isn't too good, it's not a bright day and still a bit windy, the blue is more turquoise, but somehow it's more blue here, oh! well! Hope you like it.

Jingle Bells

Hi Everyone, my Deedee's Digis DT post today is for a sponsored challenge at Jingle Belles Rock Christmas Challenge the challenge goes on until 20th May. The theme being "Use a Digi" I'm only to happy to oblige LOL, I have used "Jingle All the Way" with great papers and images to play with. I layered all the top layers on gold mirror card after printing them all out. You may notice I used the image on the red card as a "stamp" I added the Jingle Bells sentiment around the bell, printed it out and used a Tonic circle die to cut it and the mirror card.

Something different

Hi Everyone, I have something different, for me anyway! This lovely lady is a freebie from East Wind, I have always loved her images, it's a lady in her traditional Korean dress, I was aware of the style of traditional dress, but didn't know if colours were important, so went to find out on the web and found the inspiration for the colours with this image.

I made a gradient colour scheme in PS to match her dress and used overlays for the background layers and as the white background around the image looked a little stark, I decided to add colour and it made her stand out a bit I think. All designed and coloured in PS. After printing out and layering and 3D the image, I also added a Tonic butterfly die and a flag I made in PS and printed out for the sentiment. Hope you like her.

Cozy Rest Day

Hi Everyone and to my lovely new follower, hope you enjoy your stay.
Deedee's Digis has a Progressive Challenge where you buy your first digi and as long as you enter the challenges you get a free kit every month. This is the free digi from May's "Dads Day Off" with the window and cat from another of Deedee's kits "Open Window." You get outline images in the kit (as well as ready coloured images) so that you can colour or paper piece your images, as I have done here.

Haven't participated in this month's challenge? You can still purchase this set for just $1.25 this month at our shop. You can get it here if you are a resident of the European Union, or get it here if you are NOT a resident of the EU.

I designed all this in PS, including making the fireplace and flames, I used a PS "fringing action" by Atomic Cupcake, for the rug, added my brother's photo to the frame above the mantle, as it's his birthday, printed it all out with a double window frame and sentiment to layer, then added Stickles to the fire, 3D'd the sentiment and it's ready to post.
